    I didn't expect LOTR to come in but I'm so happy it did. I mean, making Middle Earth in the actual MIDDLE OF THE EARTH is so sick! I need to see this movie.

      Max has a knack for pitches that end with a brand.

      +Zhadow900 I wish Hollywood would do something like this just have a marketable action/adventure movie then at the end of the out of nowhere its something the audience wouldn't expect and ties in with something that already exist..

    I recall Tolkien once mentioning that if you were to count each Age as lasting 3000 years, we would now currently be living in the seventh age. In other words, close to 10,000 years after the events of LotR. So the math is right.

    If they marketed it as a Lost City of Atlantis disaster movie with an all star cast, directed by Peter Jackson, people would get hype for it and then the press would tweet about the twist and more and more people would see it after the premier. That in itself is even greater marketing and people would be calling it the most daring and surprising thing to ever happen in cinema and people would go nuts over it for years.

    I gotta say, when I first bumped into Max here on youtube, I didn't really like him. Just the way he is, really flamboyant and out there and just really different. But then over time, after seeing him pop up on a few RUclips shows I like, I actually really started to like him and enjoy what he brought to the table.. He's kind of off the wall and crazy and he would probably be fun to hang out with. Greatly entertaining I'm sure, lol. The world needs more guys like this that think outside the box. Love him or hate him, he has a lot of passion and heart. You gotta respect that. And if is new to you as well and you don't really care for him all that much, give him a chance and watch some more of his stuff on his channel or wherever. Agree or disagree with him he does bring some very interesting perspectives to the table. I had to get past some stuff personally before I could open up to his ideas and way of thinking. But I do think he seems to be a good guy with a good heart and he is extremely passionate about writing, movies and all the other great stuff that we all enjoy. Rock on!!

    I love the handful of pitches Max has on RUclips that have a ridiculous twist near the end revealing that it was basically an adaption pitch all along, they always make me grin when the twist happens. Makes me want to write more than I already do, just to get better. I also need to learn to pitch things as enthusiastically as he does, I'm sure that helps a lot!

  • @fanboydee
    @fanboydee 9 лет назад +9

    Max should have a RUclips channel entirely dedicated to movie pitches. Just slideshows of some actors with him going off on one for ten to twenty mins. No need for anything as elaborate as Death & Return or whatever, just stuff like this. I mean, this idea is absurd and I'd hate to see it executed in any medium, and the third-act cliffhanger seems like a mistake, but it's still fun as hell to listen to, mostly because Max really knows how to draw you in to a story with words and sell the idea. Same with the Man of Steel sequel (although that actually seems better than what we're getting). I could watch this stuff all day, and there's obviously a whole bunch of ideas Max has that are never going to reach us as movies or comics.

    I was so uninterested until MY PRECIOUS. This could never be made but wow what a mindjob. A distant future sequel for LotR. The nerds might start an uprising if Tolkien's work was appended that much. Just look at the rage over the Hobbit movies.
    For better or worse, I love hearing Max pitch.

    • @hariman7727
      @hariman7727 4 года назад

      It would be bullshit though. The fires of Mount Doom destroyed the One Ring, and Sauron too, because Sauron put SO much power into the One Ring that it became a Load Bearing Artifact.
      Now... a new ring being formed in some ancient ruins by the fragments of Sauron's power? Maybe...

    “If it can be written or thought, it can be filmed.” - Stanley Kubrick.
    As for the marketing part, we can have one trailer max, 2-3 posters max, and tv spots with only one second of footage not seen in the trailers. None of them will reveal anything found underwater. We’re doing 10 Cloverfield Lane marketing (The Cloverfield Paradox for Netflix ONLY, and scrap everything I said before). For a higher chance to get audiences’ attention, we have a secret screening for the film about a month before the film’s release, and if the reviews are good enough, we will use that as a marketing strategy, otherwise embargo until a week before the film releases.
    I thought of this today (the day I saw this video)
