  • Los Angeles times recently asked, Has technology made your car a candy store of distraction?
The answer in our opinion is yes. However it’s the automakers who continue to add technology that increases driver distraction.
But while nobody is going to admit being on their phone during a crash, who is ultimately responsible?

Yep! Driving it’s such an inconvenience for those people who like to be glued to their phones all the time.

MY biggest complaint is the need for multiple steps in the cars to perform one simple task. One of the new cars requires the use of the touchscreen to change the vent directions!

The customer is always right even if they're crashing injuring others or dying.

self driving autonomous vehicles will be the only way to correct this problem. civilization has behaved less respectful to the duty and responsible of operating a car. we must never forget that driving is a privilege.

@Catholic Firefighter i respect your view of self driving vehicles, however peoples behavior are less likely to revert back to driving as the sole purpose behind the wheel. i’m not an engineer of any sort, but i guarantee you the collision rate of autonomous vehicles will be lower than the selfish distracted behaviors of human drivers. technology is not perfect, but will be more accurate and consistently improve over time. freedom is a beautiful thing, but we often abuse this right against the freedoms of others. quite possibly drivers have too much freedom and forget that driving is a privilege.

@Catholic Firefighter everything you said was true, but people have done all those exact things unintentionally, and sadly intentionally. the behavior of humans are driven by profit. heck, the original distraction of eating in the car is promoted with the fast food drive through. not keeping both hands on the wheel was enabled by the in-car cigarette lighter and ashtray. the infotainment center in our cars have paid subscription services to search through while driving. what i’m saying is people preach safety but continue to offer all the conveniences of distraction. i can tell you mean well, and believe it or not i’m a positive thinker. but sadly society is so deep in tech that only tech can save us from ourselves.
