- So I heard on the radio, a Westbound reported that this train in the video had a DPU that was not loading. They were going about 10mph all the way through San Timoteo Canyon.
Seen here passing MP555 on the Yuma Sub, about 8 miles from the top! They were struggling, but still moving, with that one unit down on the rear. When the DPU's come buy you can hear the EMD loading, but the GE is not!
The train had about 105 cars and they had a lot of heavy Tankers full of Gasoline and Diesel Fuel. I believe they were headed for El Centro, CA.
Then the helpers were rolling right behind them. You can hear some radio conversations between the train, dispatcher and locomotive help desk.
Enjoy this one, climbing the grade!
Thanks for watching! Авто/Мото
Maybe if they weren't pulling so many cars with FLAT WHEELS it wouldn't be so bad! That train is beating that track to pieces.
lol definitely some flat spots here, Thanks for watching there willie
UPs is using the new run flat steel wheel.
Flat spots don’t make a difference on railcars, they just make more noise
The wheel is always round it's just the inside area where the flat spot is.
That's why addition d.p.u.s. is highly needed if the train is going to be very long especially going through the mountains! 😮
the humor you bring to your videos is just perfect!
@@Cassie-xh4ju thank you 👋😎
The EMD was pushing like crazy, you can see it on the coupler gab between it and the GE!
@@sebastianbarthel2393 haha right! It was petty cool 😎
I think I can, I think I can…
haha exactly. Thanks for watching !
You got another good one for us today.. Thanks for the video.
@@droyroy1711 thanks!😎

Another great video. Stay cool out there.
@corycampbell9811 thanks!😎
Awesome video😊
Thanks!
It's crazy to have a train that long, can it be done yes. Should it be done no.
@randyballew8795 yes, a lot of downsides to PSR railroading.
Doesn't the driver have gauges to show him an potential problem???
Nice video, I Railfan there too
@@Izaiah_wizz nice 😎, I don't see too many railfans out there. Thanks for checking out the video!
How many flat spots on the wheels of that train? Several on tank cars…
What does souded mean?
“Sunset” is referring to Sunset Ave at the summit in Banning?
@corycampbell9811 yes, They were referring to Sunset Ave.
I assume you're using a Canon camera, the color is much brighter than Nikon or Panasonic?
@denault3985 I'm using a Samsung S23FE 😎. Thanks for watching!
Seems like they should have had the remote control helpers in the middle of the train, with the manned helpers on the rear of the train. Southern Pacific would have done that. 😉
haha, thanks for watching!
The question I have, is did he make it on his own power?
@9983sp yes! They did. From what I could hear on the radio later, they used the helpers to help them down the hill on the other side of Beaumont
Railroads are out to save money for profits to the big boys, but what they don't realize that the longer and heavier the trains the more damage is done to the tracks over time. They need to make it a requirement that all trains be no longer than 50-75 carsong and run more trains paying for more engineers that run them then there would be less damages to the rails and less accidents. There is no need to have Mike long or longer trains running in the mountains states at any one time, both going up and coming down those mountain grades of over 1% period 😠😠👎👎
Yeah mate, just shorten the the size of the train just a bit might help.! 😉
Haha right! 😂 Thank you for watching 😎
G.E. junk. The mighty EMD's never quit.
@@kellyswoodyard hahaha! 😅
That was true decades ago. Now the GE (Wabtec) locomotives are considered by most railroaders as superior in almost every way.
I have a friend that mechanics for UP and he would agree with you totally.
Excellent video my friends awesome like 👍🏻 and Greeting from Argentina nuevo subcritor suscribete 😊
@MarcelosalivaTRENESArg thank you very much! And welcome😎👍
SHHH! Don’t tell Uncle Pete’s shareholders that they had manned helpers!
@@electroscribe gotta love manned helpers!
