the sequel was good, they were trying to tell a completly different story of wonder woman since she´s immortal they can play with time, i think it showed us a more mature and depressed diana (because she is all alone) who is starting to finally get a hold of her full potential and to me it did justice to the relationship diana and barbara have in the comics, barbara´s jealousy and diana not wanting to give up on her friend and the message of people always wanting more no matter what it costs is so relevant in our society, people were too harsh
I liked the sequel because she got to I love you back to Steve.
Great movie. You should also watch the Christoper Reeve Superman movie at least 1 and 2. Superman 1 is actually the first modern superhero movie.

I saw this when it first came out in theaters; it was a must-see for me and I absolutely loved it. As a little boy in the 1970's, I grew up watching the Wonder Woman TV series with Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman. It still remains one of my favorite shows. There was also a television movie in the 70's with Cathy Lee Crosby as Wonder Woman and Ricardo Montalban as the villain. This will always be one of my favorite movies and I think Gal Gadot was amazing. She really put her heart and soul into this role.
I remember all that too! It's a great character.
Yeah, as cool as it was seeing Lynda Carter kicking ass as Wonder Woman (more of what I was looking for when I first saw Cathy Lee Crosby's version) this was so satisfying. Gal with her Israeli accent was the finishing touch for me.

@Jim's Pet Dragons I kind-of feel for Cathy Lee, I was more disappointed in the portrayal than her performance. I have a love for women kicking ass and taking names. If I knew then what I know now about the change that qas made with Wonder Woman in the comics at the time, it would have made more since.
@@ICEcoleman2k Yeah, it was a different take, but I didn't dislike it. I had a few comics from the early 70s of the DC friends (I forgot what they called that comic), so I had a better idea of the cannon than other kids, but WW herself I knew only a little. Gender didn't matter to me then or now. A super hero is a super hero. Plain & simple.
Such an amazing movie. So sad this universe was so completely destroyed by the mismanagement at WB.
the cgi was so bad in some parts though, that rubber human movement bothers me so much

I really love this movie. It's my favorite DC movie by long distance. My favorite part was Steve and Diana in London till the airplane, their entire journey together. With the 3 other soldiers too. Love them.
Oddly, not really into the final fight. I kind of seen stuff like that before. Not impressed by this villian. Loved Ares and Diana confrontation in the tower. But the big battle, not so much.

I started by watching the MCU movies on your channel. I came back for this one--the best of the DCEU films.
The first time ever in my life I've had my breathe stolen from me and I forgot how to breath was in the theatre watching this as Gal Gadot comes up out of the trenches, wearing the full Wonder Woman regalia for the first time ... she IS Diana!! 💪😎💪💘🥰🥰
This movie was very well received it and she (Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman) was a standout in the Justice League as well as Batman versus Superman.
She was definitely the highlight of BVS. Rest of that film was just pure dogshit.

I love WW basically because I read DC comics as a kid (in the late 60s). She and the Justice League were always coming up with a way to win.

There is real chemistry between Chris Pine and Gal Godot you should watch some of the press interviews between the two and yes she is gorgeous.
One of the few movies that shows how the feminist message can be embedded with a good story, it's not easy but possible.
Funny that you thought Chris was going to say he was Spider-Man. He actually did the voice for the first Spider-Man that appeared in Into The Spiderverse.
L, this movie got tons of coverage and love when it was released. It was considered a top movie of the year…it may have been my favorite.
One of my favorite scenes in the whole movie is Wonder Woman's march across No Man's Land. Especially after her conversation with Steve Trevor.
Steve: This is No Man's Land, Diana! It means no man can cross it, alright? This battalion has been here for nearly a year and they've. barely gained an inch. All right? Because on the other side there are a bunch of Germans pointing machine guns at every square inch of this place. This is not something you can cross. It's not possible.
Diana: So....what? So we do nothing?
Steve: No, we are doing something! We are! We just....we can't save everyone in this war. This is not what we came here to do.
Diana: No. But it's what I'm going to do.
A strong willed character that has a strong character 😊😊
Fun fact the teenaged Diana is young Alicent Hightower from house of the dragon 🐉

Amazing reaction Liala. Wonder Woman is my favorite female comic book character and Gal Gadot plays her to perfection. 1984 isn't liked by many but I happen to enjoy it quite a bit.
I love this movie so very much and I saw it twice in the theaters. Gal is amazing as Wonder woman and to think how she did her stunts when being pregnent is amazing as well. She is one of the most famous actoresess to be born here in Israel though there are a few others as well of course. I love that Chris and Gal had such good chemistry together because it made it easier to want Diana and Steve to end up together. by the way a lot of the actresess that played the Amazons were actually doing all that stuff for real because they were put through fiht training and everything else needed to make it look more real on screen.

I don't usually praise movies because there isn't usually anything to get excited about, but this movie is a fun watch with great visuals while simultaneously building interesting characters. Great cinema 👍
Saw it twice in theaters. It lived rent free in my head for ages afterwards. It was the best of the DCAU at the time. Gal Gadot was perfect in the role. Unfortunately, they couldn't keep up the momentum with the sequel.
I saw this in theaters when it came out in the States, then when I returned to Japan I took my then girlfriend to see it…….she fell asleep. I couldn’t believe it!
My grandma is falling asleep during lion king and a friend's mother is falling asleep during Mary Poppins we watched in Japan ....😅

In the film when she is beating up all the Germans, Gal Filmed that all while being 6 or 7 months pregnant I do believe.

I like how all the military leaders on both sides seem to disregard women when, in actuality, the women make the most impact on how the war takes place.

@Jin Alcantara The movie. Though women often play a large part in many wars. Especially WW2. They were nurses or doctors, worked in factories making ammo, farmers, translators, and drummed up support for war efforts.

Definitely one of the best dev movies along with zack Snyder’s justice league and Batman vs superman is okay too
This is probably more of a War film than a Super hero one, even though it was marketed as a traditional Super hero film. BUT it works as both, its kind of like a...vintage hero film, in a very similar way to CAPTAIN AMERICA, except they chose ww1 instead of 2
the idea of some Super being in modern turn of the century Europe or America works well & is interesting within this landscape & with both W. Woman and Capt America it works well.

"Wonder Woman 1984" is not a good film. It has a 5.4 score on IMDb, and just can not compare to this film. There are no plans for a third film. I like this movie except for two things
1) That's not how trench warfare worked. The first trench line existed to slow advances so artillery could be called in. There was a second heavily fortified trench line behind it. Multiple times both sides were able to take the second trench line which left them unsupported by their artillery so they couldn't advance further and then got pushed back.
2) She gets to the end and learns the lesson that fighting is not the answer to everything and then proceeds to solve the problem by fighting. Way to be a story about nothing. JLU did the same kind of story and she beat Ares by convincing everyone to stop fighting which was much more impressive.
Where are they? Referring to Diana’s island of the Amazons. Actually no island but in southern Italy. Yes the water is that clear. Waters in the Aegean Sea surrounding Turkey and Greece are also beautifully clear. Cheers

Growing up, Superman and Batman were my DC Universe favorites, but in the movies, Wonder Woman is my ATF. I remember watching the Wonder Woman TV series and thinking of her as a somewhat minor hero, but in the DCEU, Diana rivals Superman and surpasses him in some ways. I love Gal's portrayal of Diana's purity an innocence, and I am so sad that she has been dropped from future films.

See, to me, putting her in impractical clothes, having her fight in heels, the constant perfect hair and glamour shots; all that stuff makes her seem sillier as a fighter. Like she doesn't really know what she's doing and is putting herself at a disadvantage for the sake of fashion. But i'm _trying_ to understand that's actually a big part of the appeal for girls. To do all this kind of stuff and be flawless at all times is part of the power fantasy/wish fulfillment of it all.
But at least they've stopped giving female superheroes special "girl versions" of the villain to fight. So that's something.
You can't be serious with hypocrisy here. All throughout the MCU, we have guys being flawless all the time in their fancy super suits. You're saying perfect hair, teeth smile and fashion sense only detracts when it's women in the role. It's amazing how ridiculous your ilk gets when you don't get to be the center of the universe all the time.
It not real brow , it's fantasy , their is no real world logic when it comes to non human abilitys , super man can fly through a building and his hair stays the same cause it's not realistic and it never will be 😂😂
@@jynxce Had you actually watched any of the films of "my ilk", then you'd know that the "fancy super suits" typically serve some function. You'd also know that male super heroes get the absolute shit beaten out of them. Hardly flawless by any means.
Also, you're not wonder woman. Any more than i am wonder woman. There is no "ilk" there is no "brotherhood" or kinship between some characters and not others. That is some bullshit you've entirely made up in your own feverish imaginings.
Lastly, wearing heels _does_ make you less steady on your feet than you would be when wearing more practical shoes. That's something that you and your hateful "ilk" will just have to accept.

-This film unfairly gets lumped into the rest of the WB DCU that have been disappointing overall. While I am more lenient in my judgement on the others (I thought the others had their merits.), this was a very good movie to introduce the backstory of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Many look back to Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman decades ago, and she was great for what they could do effects wise, and she certainly physically looked the part from the comics. But Gal Gadot did a fine job bringing the character to the modern era.
Such an emotional reaction and so genuine. Thank you, Liala, i love you ❤🙋
If all you care about is their love.. watch the sequel.

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman was absolutely the best thing the DCEU had going for it. Honestly, I'd prefer that James Gunn keep her on to play Diana because she is as much WW now as Lynda Carter. He can recast everybody else except Sasha Calle and Gal Gadot.
This got a LOT of attention when it came out but it was kinda derailed by a poor sequel.
When I 1st saw this, I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread!, but now it has lost a little luster and is my 2nd fav DC film behind Batman Begins. Still a great super hero film.
Honestly, any excuse to film and show Gal, i'm okay with. The plots were a bit trope'y and spoonfed to the script 😒, but then she smiles or gives a side eyed glance and all is forgiven.
Fun fact: this movie was butchered by the studios. In reality, ares didn't do anything except making peace between mankind and olympus. It was Zeus who wanted to destroy mankind. Just like the actual end of the Greek mythology where Zeus deals with Zeus to close the doors of Olympus.
Remember when you watch Justice League next that if you want to continue with the rest make sure to watch the Theatrical Cut. The Snyder Cut is acceptable but it is not canon. There are inconsistencies between the following movie Aquaman and from what I hear the new Flash movie.
PLEASE DO NOT WATCH THAT MOVIE…IT IS NOT CONNECTED TO WHAT YOU’VE WATCHED SO FAR….IT’S A PIECE OF CRAP….PEOPLE ARE TROLLING YOU TELLING YOU TO WATCH THAT 2017 VERSION.
Liala, please watch the theatrical version of Justice League, it's much shorter and punchier and funnier and i like the song in the beginning , make sure you have a box of chocolates
