Gav!! I am so proud of you! I had that same reaction at the big reveal. This was my absolute favorite episode in this Slagatha series! Please keep the “white board” of victims, suspects, and clues for next time. This was so fun to follow along! I didn’t even attempt to solve it.
"...because this book is a pile of sh- *b e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e p* -and that is why I did not solve it." Bless your humor, Gavin.😆💞
This is so delightful! I think it would give Agatha Christie such joy that people are still reading and trying to solve her mysteries so many years later. And I love the addition of the murder board!
You did it!!!! I have to give this one to you! But next time, EXPERT MODE, you have to lock in you murderer BEFORE Poirot starts going through the suspects one by one. As soon as he gets everyone in the room, you have to stop and guess who done it!
Yeah, eliminating suspects based on whom Poirot mentions first in the speech at the gathering of the suspects is cheating. He was cheated by the readers in _The ABC Murders,_ though, so maybe it's a wash.
This was the best Christmas gift! You are amazing!! Do a million more! Such a blast!!! My favorite line was, "I always drink Agatha Christie with wine." 😂
I think you need a guilty stamp to just put right over the index card when the killer is announced!! Loved the murder board and we need more of this!! Lots of love slagatha!!! 💙🧡💚
Watching this video super long after it’s posted but omg this video is pure gold!!! I wish Slagatha was still like this because oh my gosh I cannot 😂😂😂
Lmao I was going to read ‘Hercule Poirot’s Christmas’ too. I should’ve read it so I could solve it alongside you. Also, going Mike’s Mic with the Board is just what we need. Although you can go totally paperless with Freeform (only on iOS) or Milanote.
Oh wow, I didn't expect you to get it that easily! It wasn't obvious at all to me personally. 🙈 It also reminded me of a different book by her and I felt cheated both times. 😂 Guess I need my own white board for the next one, cause I wasn't right once so far. 😆 Loved this format though - you picked up on so many things I didn't even notice!
This was a fantastic episode of Slagatha vs Agatha! Awesome job! As a seasoned reader and watcher of Poirot I'd recommend either Sad Cypress or Murder in Mesopotamia. Can't wait for the next episode :) have a wonderful Christmas
I loved this! I can’t wait for more from this series. After you read a few I recommend you read The mysterious affair at Styles (her first book) and Curtain (the last Hercules Poirot book) back to back
I've been reading/listening to this book "with" you, reading then watching then reading ect. And I must admit I have watched this video a few years ago, but I didn't remember anything, so I'm counting this as a win as I guess the murderer right. I agree, Gavin, the signs were a little obvious compared to her other books. (I'm reading through the Hercule Poirot series, and have read all 18 before this one, and I have not been able to solve A SINGLE ONE until now.) But it was still a good book and really thrilling either way. Love this Slagatha series! Keep it up
Oh Gavin never change. We would be nothing without your humor and sexual innuendos. Thank you for blessing us with your presence. We mortals are not worthy. ❤️❤️❤️
I loved this so much!!! Your ability to solve her books continues to astound me. I was looking in the completely wrong direction when I read it, though it was still such a fun read! 🕵🏻♀️
This was so much fun!! Great job on figuring it out! 😁 I most certainly didn't, when I watched the TV series 🕵♀ Other ones that I think might be fun to try are The ABC Murders, Five Little Pigs, Evil Under the Sun and (obviously 😁) Murder on the Orient Express. The Orient Express one is pretty wintery, so if you feel like reading another one of Christie's mysteries during the winter time, that one would definitely be suitable, I think. Plus it is one of the most famous of her mysteries 😁
I read Orient express but I’d already seen the movie so I couldn’t count it as a book I could solve 😭 but I’m so excited to read Five Little Pigs, I’ve heard great things!
One of the recurring characters in some Hercules Poirot books is Ariadne Oliver, who is an author of mysteries with a Finnish detective. Ariadne is clearly a stand-in for Agatha Christie herself. Every time Ariadne says something about her books, character, or style of writing, I think it's Agatha talking about herself. Near the beginning when you said you didn't know if Agatha would repeat herself, I immediately thought of when Poirot compared 2 of Ariadne's books and said they were the same story. She is delighted that he picked up on that and says that she basically writes the same thing again and again with different details and most people don't notice. Good job figuring this out! I've read most of her books but rarely ever figured out who it was. Maybe I would have if I'd set up a murder board. Thanks for the very entertaining video.
I will never read mysteries the same again, thanks to this gem of an investigation 🧐 And now I'm eager to read some Agatha and do some crazy wall notes as well. Thanks for a fun video, Gavin!
I finally read the book, so now I can finally watch this video! Love the start of it already so much! Very high production value, you're smashing it, Gavin!
This book came up on audio at my library the day after Christmas and I was no longer in the mood. You just saved me from checking it out next Christmas! Good work detective!
Well done again Slagatha! 🕵️♂️ Would love to see you try Sad Cypress, Peril at End House, The ABC Murders and Cards on the Table at some point in the future! 😍
Omg, I am so impressed!! I could remember who did it from when I read it a while ago and I couldn't believe how quickly you latched onto them!! I never suspected them at all when I read it and was so shocked when it was revealed, I didn't pick up on any of the clues! And I wouldn't say I'm bad at working them out either, I've read about 65 of her books and at this point I can pretty much always work out who summit in any murder mystery, although I did read this one quite a while ago. Well done Slagatha!!
I loved the effort you put into this! I really liked the board aspect; it was like I was trying to solve the murder too but I didn't even read the book🤣
I did pick up on a lot of things while I read the book, some even that you didn't mention, but I didn't figure out who the killer was, but then I didn't have that amazing murder board. Well done Gavin, awesome video!
this is my favorite video of yours since your goosebumps review. you are so dear and charming and witty and your videos help me with my anxiety. please never leave YT! ❤❤
Hello, I love your videos and I’m a huge fan of Agatha Christie. You should try reading A Pocketful of Rye. It’s one of my favourite Agatha Christie books 😊
this was awesome, you guessed correctly!! I don’t think I figured it out. I think I was leaning toward Stephen most of the book. I just finished reading Sad Cypress by Agatha (Poirot story) and the Man in the Brown Suit by Agatha (no Poirot and no Maple) I couldn’t figure either out. Hope you make a video on sad cypress specifically if you ever get a chance
I just read this over a few days of Christmas break too! So fun :) I was able to solve this one, but I was doubting myself at every turn. The VINDICATION I felt at the reveal. You should totally do this with Halloween Party even though it’s not one of my favorites
Wow I'm amazed at your detective skills! I read this book a few days ago, and didn't even suspect the person to be the murderer at all. I should go back to Daisy&Hazel for training...
I stayed up late to finish the book yesterday just so I can watch this today. Good job, Gavin 👏 I would recommend Crooked House by Agatha Christie, even though it is not a Hercule Poirot one.
Fantastic video, would love to see more like it. You reminded me of OMITB with your board and the way you worked out your suspect list👍♥️. We were just missing the selfies😂.
Omg I love this video...m relatively new to your channel and came because of bowties and books but I absolutely fell inlove and I'm now catching up on pretty up all your videos
Ah, gonna need to bookmark this one - I've still to read this particular book and I don't want to be spoiled. :) I'll be back once I'm done reading it!
@HowtoTrain Your Gavin. I love this video! It is so fun to solve a mystery along with you, nice murder board. Hope you do more of these in the future!!! :) Happy Holidays Gavin!!! Cheers!!! 😀
This is amazing!! In addition to solving more Agatha Christie, you should try to solve The 7.5 Death of Evelyn Hardcastle - such a mind fuck, would love to follow along with you on that one!!
this was the first book i read this year and all i remember is that i was very mad at the whole spanish character's story, like, oh yeah she's incredibly traumatized from a civil war but it's all fun and games, like O.o
Thank-you so much for this video. I love watching your Agatha Christie videos and you trying to solve the mysteries (As someone who has read Poirot before) It has inspired me to start re-reading all of her Poirot novels in reading order, at I am picking up on so many details :) Please watch the David Suchet tv show of Poirot...the attention to detail, is truly desvering of the Great Detective...beyond words
i recently read this book and the bits that clued me in were pilar talking about how she liked a 'big, strong man' like stephen and sugden. that made me think that one or both of them were lees. the other thing was the gesture of stroking the jaw that seemed to be hereditary and that both of them did. love picking up these little clues while reading!
I LOVE when you do these videos! I'm also thinking of doing something like this with a friend for fun and to help me both as a writer and as a DM for DnD so that I'm not only better at picking up clues but hopefully noticing clever ways to drop them. I wouldn't say I'm terrible at this, but I do think it's a great idea for a fun exercise to get better. I'd be greatly interested in any recommendations for Christie books that are fun to try to solve on your own (other than the supposed impossible one, because while it sounds like an interesting read I'm not sure it quite plays by the same rules to enable me to learn in the way I'd hope to apply these skills). I've only read And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, but I'm a huge fan of the Miss Marple series and I've seen Death on the Nile. Thank you again for the ridiculously fun watch and spark of an idea that could help me and be fun for my mystery loving friend:)
Parts of this are sounding very similar to Knives Out and while I know Rian Johnson has taken inspiration from Agatha Christie books, I hadn't heard which ones specifically and now I'm wondering if one of his major influences for the first film was this book.
Yes! The Murder Wall/Board was awesome! I loved this unhinged/tipsy solvin' and can not wait to see the murder board evolve. But I gots to know: Was the Murder board worth it/was it more fun?
That little alcove you have would be perfect for a corkboard for you to use as a murder board if you plan on doing more of these videos (which I hope you do because they are amazing)
When I read it I was overwhelmed at first, but then I noticed that more than one character had their nose described as "aquiline", and then everything made sense
The whole “he moves around like a cat” takes on a new meaning while Gavin’s boys are tearing the flat down in the background of the video 😂
Haha I totally missed them doing that until I edited the video - and now I understand why Horbury would be a suspect 😂
Gav!! I am so proud of you! I had that same reaction at the big reveal. This was my absolute favorite episode in this Slagatha series! Please keep the “white board” of victims, suspects, and clues for next time. This was so fun to follow along! I didn’t even attempt to solve it.
Yay thanks so much Kat!! Glad you enjoyed 😊
"...because this book is a pile of sh- *b e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e p* -and that is why I did not solve it."
Bless your humor, Gavin.😆💞
Hope the long bleep didn't hurt your ears too much 😂
This is so delightful! I think it would give Agatha Christie such joy that people are still reading and trying to solve her mysteries so many years later. And I love the addition of the murder board!
Ahh thank you so much 🥰
You did it!!!! I have to give this one to you! But next time, EXPERT MODE, you have to lock in you murderer BEFORE Poirot starts going through the suspects one by one. As soon as he gets everyone in the room, you have to stop and guess who done it!

This was the best Christmas gift! You are amazing!! Do a million more! Such a blast!!! My favorite line was, "I always drink Agatha Christie with wine." 😂
I totally messed that line up 😂
I LOVED this! I absolutely love seeing people trying to solve Agatha Christie's mysteries and this one did not disappoint.
Ahh thanks so much, glad you enjoyed 🥰
Pilar (pee-lar) it’s a Spanish name and I thinkn Simeon is probs (Sim-eon) unless it’s described as Simon with e in book. I haven’t read it.
It is Sim eon as you said not Simon with an e 😂
Yes, Sihm-ee-uhn. I was wondering whether he was doing that one on purpose.
JUST finished my first semester of uni - this video couldn't have come at a better time.🧡 Thank you, Gavin!
Ayyy congrats on finishing your first semester!! That's awesome!
This new series should be called ‘Iconic Intros and Where To Find Them’. 😂
I want to be ‘Uses Wine Bottle as a Pointing Device’ level of iconic.
I think you need a guilty stamp to just put right over the index card when the killer is announced!! Loved the murder board and we need more of this!! Lots of love slagatha!!! 💙🧡💚
This was my first Slagatha! Now I must go back and watch them all. 🙂
Watching this video super long after it’s posted but omg this video is pure gold!!! I wish Slagatha was still like this because oh my gosh I cannot 😂😂😂
So much fun! I hope you can do 'Evil Under the Sun' next.
We love a slagatha mystery. This was so entertaining, Gav!! I want you to do this with a modern mystery!! Lol love you ❤️
A modern mystery would be fun!
I'm obsessed with this series, good job Gavin! I would suggest doing Murder on the Orient Express, The Sittaford Mystery, The Body in the Library
Lmao I was going to read ‘Hercule Poirot’s Christmas’ too. I should’ve read it so I could solve it alongside you. Also, going Mike’s Mic with the Board is just what we need. Although you can go totally paperless with Freeform (only on iOS) or Milanote.

Ooo thanks for the recommendations!
I agree with Sad Cypress! One of my faves. I didn't guess the murderer.
Ok, so the next one could be ‘The Body in the Library’. You should check out the adaptation of it featuring Joan Hickson as Miss Marple.
I loved this! I can’t wait for more from this series. After you read a few I recommend you read The mysterious affair at Styles (her first book) and Curtain (the last Hercules Poirot book) back to back
Ooo thanks for the suggestion!

I loved this so much!!! Your ability to solve her books continues to astound me. I was looking in the completely wrong direction when I read it, though it was still such a fun read! 🕵🏻♀️
My feud with Agatha drives me to solve her books haha thanks for watching!
This was so much fun!! Great job on figuring it out! 😁 I most certainly didn't, when I watched the TV series 🕵♀

Ahhh please do!! I’d love for you to try and crack the case yourself, I bet you could do it!
I’m obsessed with this series. I love how you called it all from the beginning!! This was the best episode you’ve done yet. I love the murder board.
So professional!!! 😂 This was so fun, and I also really enjoyed this book when I read it last Christmas but I didn't figure out who the murderer was!
I finally read the book, so now I can finally watch this video! Love the start of it already so much! Very high production value, you're smashing it, Gavin!
I loved it when the music starts playing when u finally figure out who the killer is. Loved the video and can't wait for more!
This book came up on audio at my library the day after Christmas and I was no longer in the mood. You just saved me from checking it out next Christmas! Good work detective!
The murder board makes it so much better. They were great before but this brings it to the next level.
Well done again Slagatha! 🕵️♂️ Would love to see you try Sad Cypress, Peril at End House, The ABC Murders and Cards on the Table at some point in the future! 😍

Haha thanks Amelia!
this is my first time watching one of your agatha videos and the board with clues and suspects is the absolute best, please keep it
I loved the effort you put into this! I really liked the board aspect; it was like I was trying to solve the murder too but I didn't even read the book🤣
Glad the murder board worked for you, and yay for playing along, love that
i LOVED this so much. your personality just makes this soooooooo good and funny. i knew you would solve it too, cant wait for more detective gav
I have read quite a few Agatha Christie books but not this one. I did figure out the culprit thanks to your careful analysis. Keep up the good work!
I loved watching this so much. I'd love for you to try solving a murder is announced as that's my favourite
I did pick up on a lot of things while I read the book, some even that you didn't mention, but I didn't figure out who the killer was, but then I didn't have that amazing murder board. Well done Gavin, awesome video!
Haven’t got through the whole video yet, but you are legit making me want to read Agatha Christie rn
this is my favorite video of yours since your goosebumps review. you are so dear and charming and witty and your videos help me with my anxiety. please never leave YT! ❤❤
Thank you so much for using a captioning service!
I literally cheered for you when you got to the end! Yes, Slagatha!!
Hello, I love your videos and I’m a huge fan of Agatha Christie. You should try reading A Pocketful of Rye. It’s one of my favourite Agatha Christie books 😊
Really love your videos Gavin and these agatha christie ones are so much fun ❤️ my recommendation is the abc murders it's so difficult to figure out
Well done- this is a great series! A perfect vid to go along with my afternoon coffee :)
this was awesome, you guessed correctly!!
Honestly, that was a fantastic after-Christmas watch. Thanks for the mystery!
Thanks so much for watching 😊
Your investigation process makes me want to play my favorite board game, Clue!!!!! Love this video, you deserve 1 million subscribers ❤️ 👏🏽 👑
Loved this. You should try Dead mans folly.
I totally didn’t guess who in that one.
1. The outfit
2. The bleeps
3. The WINE BOTTLE POINTER
I’m 3 minutes in & this is already iconic. I’m dying with the wine bottle 😂😂😂
I love this! So much fun watching you work this out. To many more slagatha mystery solves! 🍷🥂
Only 5 minutes in and it's already amazing. Slagatha, the wine bottle pointer and the cats. Laughing so much. Xx
This is the best thing I've watched all Christmas - thank you for the smiles!
I stayed up late to finish the book yesterday just so I can watch this today. Good job, Gavin 👏
I would recommend Crooked House by Agatha Christie, even though it is not a Hercule Poirot one.
Crooked House is high up my list of Christie books to read! Thanks so much for reading the book first so you could watch, much appreciated ❤️
The pleasure is all mine as I quite enjoyed the book and loved your video 😊!
Glad to know that Crooked House is already in your tbr.
Aw yay thanks for sticking around 🥰
Hi Gavin, Just wanted to say that I am loving this series xx 😀👍
Ah, gonna need to bookmark this one - I've still to read this particular book and I don't want to be spoiled. :) I'll be back once I'm done reading it!
Gav I love this stuff! You are so creative 😊
Thanks so much Hannah 😊
This was honestly SO MUCH FUN.
Epic Gavin! Love this series of Slagatha!

Loved the video, I really hope you do more of these! They're so much fun to watch!
I already have an idea for the next one 🥰
this was the first book i read this year and all i remember is that i was very mad at the whole spanish character's story, like, oh yeah she's incredibly traumatized from a civil war but it's all fun and games, like O.o
Awesome video! I love the thorough break down you did. Excellent sleuthing!
Thanks so much 🥰
13:37 the Slagatha Christie Song 🤣💯
Absolutely love these videos!!
This was so fun!! You're hilarious!
I do have to say your new title sequence is just fantastic😍
Love the intro with the ink 😍
Thanking you, I’m excited to use it again haha
i recently read this book and the bits that clued me in were pilar talking about how she liked a 'big, strong man' like stephen and sugden. that made me think that one or both of them were lees. the other thing was the gesture of stroking the jaw that seemed to be hereditary and that both of them did. love picking up these little clues while reading!
This was a really fun video! 😃
Bravo! It is the tricky part to figure out HOW the murder was committed.
Parts of this are sounding very similar to Knives Out and while I know Rian Johnson has taken inspiration from Agatha Christie books, I hadn't heard which ones specifically and now I'm wondering if one of his major influences for the first film was this book.
these are my fave videos i live for them hardcore
Yes! The Murder Wall/Board was awesome! I loved this unhinged/tipsy solvin' and can not wait to see the murder board evolve. But I gots to know: Was the Murder board worth it/was it more fun?
This is the most iconic Gav has been in 2022. I love it. ✨
Agatha Christie ain’t got nothing on A-Gav-tha Christie 😂
I cannot get enough of Slagatha 🤣🤣 I love the debates and sleuthing throughout! So satisfying
That little alcove you have would be perfect for a corkboard for you to use as a murder board if you plan on doing more of these videos (which I hope you do because they are amazing)
I'm 2 minutes in, my very first video....what is this? Who is this? I mean what the hell? I love it!
Best one yet! 😍
When I read it I was overwhelmed at first, but then I noticed that more than one character had their nose described as "aquiline", and then everything made sense
I love this type of video so awesome !!!
I try to do that every time I read one of her books and she surprises me every time lol
I frickin LOVE your videos.. your editing skills *chef's kiss* and you're so funny 🤣 LOVE YOU!! (and your furbabies 😻🥰)
Ahhh thank you so much ❤
Awesome!!🤗🤗 good job slagatha!😂😂

Well, congratulations!
I will never be able to read an Agatha Christie again without thinking "Well it was fuckin' one of yas"
I love these types of videos !❤
i’m so proud of you 🎉🎉
Thank you 🥰
1:02 I don’t drink alcohol so I will drink water till my skin clears up.
