Who cares what it comes in. If you can't cut a clamshell open, you need to rethink your life choices. It takes about 3 second with a knife or scissors.
Its good for safety. The old packages were easy to steal so my old stationary shop kept losing them because people could easily open them. They would lock the packages down ofc but the unsecure packaging was a nightmare.
@@littlejackalo5326 You don't need to scramble to your kitchen for scissors to open a cardboard box. For cutting tape just use the nearest sharp object or finger nails.
I'VE JUST BOUGHT the TI CX II CAS. I should receive it tomorrow. I'm not sure if i should send it back and buy the HP PRIME G2 or not. I am a first year student at a Mathematics and Computer Science University. Can you please help me to have a final decision? Thanks!
@@OldManPhil I don t know about HP Prime, but i like the TI CX 2 CAS. It is very easy to use. I haven t used it that much, but every time i do some Calculus or Geometry, i use it. In my opinion, if you don t have 200$ to spend, better use online programs, it s pretty much the same. I am a little bit old school and that is why i use it. I also have a TI 83 plus, and try to use it as much as possible.
@@OldManPhil I forgot to mention that the buttons on the new TI CX 2 CAS feel waek compared to the old 83 plus. But i think all the modern products have the same problem, they have the technology, but they are made of weak materials...
from my observations (I have the app for my phone and laptop, not the actual calculator) no, you can't turn off touchscreen or control the backlight. Seems to be readable, some claim the actual calc can be seen in direct sunlight
Battery life is great (notice no lifespan difference between this and the TI N-spire). I got mine one ebay with no battery for cheap. It uses an old Samsung (Galaxy 4?) phone battery. As jack002tuber stated, Cannot turn off touch function or control backlight as far as I am aware. Interestingly enough, I believe the screen is installed upside down in the HP crime. Poor viewing angles when the calculator is in front of you, flat on the desk. Turn the calculator upside down and you are able to see the screen very clearly. Someone at HP dropped the ball here. Still my favorite calculator.
@@salmiakki5638 I have a couple of HP Prime and of TI NSpire CAT2 too, the TI is a little slower but the apps are well integrated. The HP has a touch sensitive screen, but no heyboard, it has some bugs but the TI too. Actually the two calculators are good, the problem is to learn how to use them (the manuals do 500 pages for the TI and 600 for the HP..).
@@MBJanus I have a ti nspire cas2-t aswell. But to me it's not anywhere close to the Casio. It's slower, both in software and hardware wise. And it's seems that is build with a different audience in mind. It more of a easing tool for lazy middle or high schooler than a tool someone doing engineering could benefit from. Things are not flexible, and both the default feature set and th programming capabilities are more limited. The lack of touch screen, the disgusting keyboard feel, and the hideous alphabetical keyboard (even tho the HP prime lacks one, have to admit) makes it not a purchase I would suggest. P.s. could you give me one ho your primes? Since I used a friend's one I really want one :P

I'm wondering about battery replacement. For how long are Samsung S3 batteries going to be available. What will happen with the HP Prime if replacement batteries are no longer available?
Thank you very much for the video! I have a question, what battery can I use as a replacement for this G2 model? I've been reading that samsung galaxy s3 battery can be use as a replacement but the battery of G2 is 2000mAh and the galaxy's 2100 mAh. Is this not going to cause a problem?
No, it will not cause a problem. 2100mAh will actually let your calculator last a bit longer between charges. What you need to pay attention to is the output voltage. The output voltage of the replacement should be the same as the original battery, which should be written on the battery itself.
I mean its from HP. It was $249 an came recently but is now going for $149 in Amon I would pick It up but wont waste my money just. Going to wait or maybe I should for advance accounting class coming soon for me and TVM which I know is going to hit again in advance accounting. Anyways, thanks for the unboxing
Now make sure you don't show the key strokes for entering date and time, etc. Just skip over that and we can spend 10 minutes trying to figure it out. Way to go.
That calculator really really suck it had issues to begin with. They use to make great calculators now they dont ti instruments makes better calculators
In what ways do you believe the TI is better? -I have the TI N-spire CX and the HP Crime. I do believe the menu system can be more intuitive to use on the TI, and the screen on the HP is upside down... That being said, I haven't touched the TI since getting the HP.
I still can't believe even these expensive calculators come in blister packages.

This calculator is beautiful 🥺

miss old days when paper was cheap. you will get 1 inch thick of manual with it
My 48SX from 1991 had 2 books with a total of 800 pages :), good times....
Ti 83s came with like the 2 inch manual and a users guide another inch or course
What would be the ideal number format settings for someone working in an engineering room? Take care God bless you!
whatever you used last really. Unless ur brave
Lovely machine , Thanks for posting the video. Great job.
You did not have to open the battery compartment; just pull the strip out, easy peasy.
This or the Casio with the large touch screen? Or just keep my TI-84 elementary grapher, and get an additional CAS app on my phone or something?
This would be sufficient. The TI-84 would feel antiquated.

No. The hp prime has a lot of bugs, mine die after just 3 weeks.
Go for the prime. Don't listen to the idiot above. You'd be thankful that you did.

Can the touch be turned off?
Also, can the backlight be turned off and is it then readable?

Nice, I was wondering what’s the most advanced calculator available today?
Probably this one in the scheme of things that is able to do, that you can program for it, and it's processing power compared to the other offering

Hp prime g2

By installing software on your PC/laptop and then connecting the calculator with it.

where can I buy this online?
It's a corporate plot. When packaged that way, you can't get it out before your warranty expires...
This calculator uses the same battery found in the samsung galaxy s3.
Please please if you can buy it like this for me ☹️☹️☹️ I am in iran , I need this but I can’t buy it here ,🥺🥺🥺please
There is a emulator for this calculator. You can run on windows
Also a phone app. you can TYPE on the app, letters and chars you can't do easily with the calc
