In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. Приколы
Katherine: "Ah, I know exactly what's going on."
*Narrator: "She did not, in fact, know what was going on."*
Narrator, where is stanley? Shouldnt you be with him?
Katherine is the definition of "a bit confused but she's got the spirit"
Omg, this is me!
I saw the cat at the end too.😏
@@ibrahimrobinson8508 and I'm still confused why they sitting on cats... that's animal abuse
"I'll be anything you want me to be."
Am I the only one seeing a series of casting couches behind that statement?
I appreciated that Daisy won in 8 minutes and 8 seconds a task based around a creature famous for its 8 legs
Appreci8?
W8, that's gr8 m8!
Is the creature you're referring to a table by chance?
Pretty rude calling daisy an eight legged creature
@@willisverynice Well, technically she had 8 limbs during the studio bit, seeing how far she was into her pregnancy...
"Look a cat!" was such massive Diogenes energy and I am 100% behind it.
It's all genius, but my favourite has to be Mawaan going full-on Diogenes with his shout of "Behold, a cat!" . He's a true philosopher, is our Mawaan.
Someone else said this on A TM video, but people like Mawaan start off the season to me an unknown and then over the season become a legend.
Great show because it happens every season.
I wouldn't mind an explanation of the relationship between Diogenes and cats. Over.
@Frd Azd Its a reference to a very silly meme/historical fact about Diogenes the Philosopher making fun of other Greek philosophers classifying a human as a "featherless biped". He burst into the school with a plucked chicken and shouted "Behold, a man!". Mawaan inadvertently had much the same angry energy when he classified his chair as a cat.
@@lwoods507 Much appreciated!
Honestly the funniest part is Johnny having a minor breakdown and then proceeding to beat the spider.
This turned Katherine from adorably funny to legendary contestant
And Mawan into Diogenes
I have not and probably also will not cry as much from laughing at a task
Series 10 has such a different and strange vibe. I get why some people think it's one of the weakest, but the awkwardness and Katherine in particular make it one of my favorites
@@louis559 that annoys me honestly, what were people expecting? It was the first pandemic series, of course it's going to have a weird vibe
@@louis559 Don't forget, this was filmed without a live audience. So everything the people up on stage say and do, they say and do in front of a completely empty and silent room.
Actually, VCM mentioned on the podcast how incredibly awkward it was trying to crack jokes on stage when you get literally no response from an audience.
The legendary “am I the spider” I love this
7:56 that "Ahhhh!" gave me a shock that Katherine was thinking she and Alex (4 arms and 4 legs) would combine together as the spider
Me too... me too... That would have been a sight to see...
And it somehow was way more out-of-the-box than that 😂
When Katherine was playing Jen on The IT Crowd she was really just being herself.
"Katherine, that's not a spider!" "shut up, I got it just how I like it."
@@ZesPak Literally just watched that episode earlier today. Wonder what all that crap on her laptop was...
They're all playing themselves. It's a well-known documentary.
"Jen, the spider is now upon my person!"
"Am I the spider?"
Am I the spider?
The day Taskmaster and The IT Crowd universes merged for a brief moment
You could be...
Possibly. Have you counted your legs lately?
I think we’re all a spider.
I think the real spider is the friends we made along the way.
I really connected with Katherine on a spiritual level during this task (most of the series, tbh)
i'm afraid i would have done something similar, looking for a metaphor rather than an actual spider, or toy for that matter.
Katherine is still developing her object permanence skills, give her a break.
😭😭😭
"Can you help, Alex?"
"NO!"
I love how much Alex's attitude has changed since the first season lol
Johnny having a breakdown and beating up the spider🕷️. LMAO
And
"I don't like this room, Bad things happen in this room"
Katherine: "Maybe the spider is the friends we made along the way?"
When Mawaan says "Its a cat!!!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
There are moments in this series where I seriously wonder how Katherine is able to tie her shoes in the morning.
I’m pretty sure Katherine thought that she couldn’t leave the room the task was given in. This explains how she reacts in the task and others!
Wouldn't she have learned after the first task in which she watched other contestants go outside though?
Which would make it an extra weird task since they're connected to insanely long strings, and there were rules about how many you could carry at a time.
@@sherryxia8362 They spend a couple of weeks doing these tasks. They only see the others doing the task when they are in the studio.
@@OP-1000 I heard that was true for her through the entire series though, not just for that one episode.
@@sherryxia8362 I don’t know. Don’t they tape the entire season first and then do the studio bits?
Alex always says "For more taskmaster, subscribe now!" and it makes me said every time because I already subscribed and I STILL want more task master!!!
Spider: "an object resembling a spider, especially one having numerous or prominent legs or radiating spokes"
Taskmaster reinventing Diogenes presenting a plucked chicken and calling it a man.
Somewhere Diogenes is smiling.
Can I just say, that stuffed spider was adorable and now I want one to hang in my room above my door, to delight me and terrify anyone who enters. I would call it Shelob.
I would be absolutely delighted to meet Shelob, lovely kindling for a bonfire.
@@benjaminsmith8377 Hey don't hate.
I like spiders, they're adorable and do an important job of killing flies and other insects that if their population was left uncontrolled could cause havoc on the human population. I get some people don't like them but that's no reason so be so rude when I was just making a joke.
@@kitsu1379 I was joking lol. I just have bad arachnophobia. I appreciate the importance of spiders in the environment, BUT I would appreciate it more if they did it slower and with fewer legs.
@@benjaminsmith8377 Sorry I have a hard time telling jokes from people being serious.
And I totally get why spiders freak people out, they look so unnatural but I find it endearing... but I'm weird so that explains that. I also think the webs they spin are pretty, especially when they've caught the morning dew. I've never had arachnophobia, I was the kid in the class at school everyone made pick up the spider to get it away from them.
@@kitsu1379 I'm sorry we got off on the wrong foot, if it makes a difference you would've been my best friend in school. I can never deal with spiders and the worst part of that is I don't like killing things but the only way I can deal with a spider on my own is to spray it :(
Katherine was an absolute gem in series 10! Absolutely magnificent
Katherine is the reason why I started watching Taskmaster. I've watched IT crowd of course, then saw random videos of tasks popping up in my RUclips feed, saw that KP was a contestant... and now I am on my second run through all the series (serieses...?). :D
"Am I the spider?" - Katherine Parkinson
I know Series 10 had a rocky start but it has so many great moments and tasks later on
And it probably has the task that made me laugh out loud the most (Silent Drink task), I think there is where the series picked up its pace
Alex: " Are all the wellies on the spider?" Johnny Vegas: All of them? Why did you let me make idle chit chat?" 😂😂😂
Rhod would have ripped the platform off the ceiling
This task is deceptively complicated. Love it!
The two eternal questions: 'Am I the spider?' and 'Does a spider have a heart?'.
No, yes. Pretty un-eternal 😂
Does a spider have a soul?
"Behold! A man!"
"you wouldn't let me"
"Oh"
Katherine said she was trying to think outside of the box, not that she was thinking outside of the room!
It's stuff like this that makes me remember why I like this show so much
Well She Deserved That "Golden Point"!
We really got into a metaphysical debate on the nature of what is a spider, huh?
This was by far Katherine's finest hour on the show! I DIED watching her confusion and overall perception of the task!
We need Katherine Parkinson's Best Moments, it's been a while since we've had a compilation dedicated to one contestant
one of my favourite seasons, and this task is one of the main reasons ^^
8:36 I don't know if Katherine is trying to hold back tears or laughter.
Probably both
There's an outtake of the "get the eggs in the pan" task. She's crying with laughter, so I guess that's what happens a lot during this series.
Probably screams.
Sorry, I meant "Probably creams (at the beginning)s"
I'd love to see Katherine get another chance on Taskmaster, I think she didn't quite 'get' it when she was first on.
I think it was on the podcast that Katherine said she went in with zero research because she thought that fresh eyes would give her a bit of a leg up.
Oh, how terribly, terribly (but hilariously) wrong she was lol.
@@jennatodd4664 i can see that working with something like the crystal maze- thinking 'if I watch it I'll just end it doing what everyone else does, so I'll avoid watching it and maybe I'll be able to think outside the box and interpret the tasks in creative ways'.
Unfortunately, interpreting the tasks in creative ways and thinking outside the box is exactly what you're supposed to do, and all of her competitors were aware of that. Instead it usually took her 5 minutes just to work out the task because the challenges are so weird...
I feel like Katherine in season 10 and Bridget Christie in season 13 are two sides of the same coin.
Ever since I watched season 13 I've been wondering what it would be like to see them do a task side by side!
i have watched this series twice, and for some reason I have zero memory of this task.
Look! *A CAT! IT’S A CAT!!!*
😂😂😂
The spider became a philosophical question, lol. Am I the spider? Is that the spider? What is a spider, really?
I was actually just thinking yesterday that it would be pointless to upload this given pretty much all attempts were the same. But hey it's worth it just for Katherine's
I still don't understand why they make all the contestants sit on cats the whole time
Hold up, one of the wellies fell off Daisy's spider and when the whistle blew it can be still seen on the ground!
Task didn't say they had to stay on. Heck, for Mawaan, he didn't even have to put the legs back on the spider.
The first well on the table leg also meant she wasn’t carrying a welly at all times, quick cut and later shes holding one till the end.
I am the spider. Koo-Koo-Ka-Choo!
All i can say to Jen is "THE SHOESSSS"
Behold! A man!
i want to be on this show so bad lol
Wonder if they showed her the spider afterwards?!
"Behold! A spider!"
Richard and Mawaan really moved the spider to the front door and then... Stopped there. Didn't think of getting it back inside the lab
IT crowd reunion next series .. Noel, Katherine, Richard, Chris, and Matt .. would honestly be a well balanced group of different comedic styles with two returning favorites
I really want that spider.
So good
Move the spider into the room
I think it was a mistake not telling Katherine she was allowed to leave the room during this series. It really limited what she was able to do in her tasks. Sometimes the result was hilarious like with this one but I feel like it robbed us of a lot of potential. They've told other contestants before so I'm surprised they let it go on for the whole series
I have to wonder if she intentionally did it for comedic effect.
I mean none of the other contestants have had a problem leaving rooms they start in. I think the it's a bigger problem that some people leave rooms because they forget the task said they can't. I honestly think Katherine was just not a good contestant choice. I don't think she's good at thinking on her feet.
@@madmanwithaplan1826 Bad at doing tasks, great for a comedy show :D
"Last in leaving the room, first in being a legend", to slightly misquote Nish here.
I mean, this is also a woman who when presented with a load of balloons to make a portrait, claimed it didn't occur to her that she could inflate them. I think Alex just gave up on her after a while.
After seing this task, I've started to associate spiders with Katherine Parkinson.
Looking for their Wellies. Sounds like a worse problem.
"Behold! A cat!"
Immediately after Mawaan's "Look it's a cat!" quip I would have pointed out that Katherine did not put her legs on a spider, she put her legs on two cats - because it was two separate tables.
The poor interns that have to untangle the mess after each task
Katherine was thinking too much outside the box on this one!!
And not enough outside the room
she was about to cry
Daisy is fierce!
At no point in the task does it say the twine can't come off, right?
wait, it didn't happen?...
I expected at least one of them try to get 4 of the Wellies on Alex's hands and feet, and then 4 of them on themselves, and try to do a makeshift two person spider costume..
i would have asked for a sharpie, then drawn the spider on the wood, and the string are its legs which are connected to the umm "wellies?"
Poor Johnny, getting beaten by a woman putting some wellies on a table.
reminded me of Joe Wilkinson and red green
So Is Katherine the spider or not?
To say it with Magritte: ce n'est pas une araignée
I'm just watching this for Johnny Vegas' meltdown. 😆😆😆
Johnny Vegas' Meltdown™
“I told me dole I can’t climb ladders, and look at me now! YOU CAN’T SHOW THIS FOOTAGE!”
Also, “I have good days, and bad days.”
Look! It’s a Cat!!!
In the studio it looks like Katy has had a breakdown her eyes are so red from crying.
i noticed that too, damn i would also be crying
Only minute in, any reason they didnt bring the spider to the boots?
7:23.
I don't understand why this show isn't more popular.
Who farted @8:36? Love the first word after is "interesting" Yes indeed Greg quite interesting.
Or else it gets the hose again
I really want to see Taskmaster with the contestants being Alex Horne, Tim Key, Mark Watson, and two other "insiders" of their choosing. As it would feature the show creators it should have to include even more demanding tasks. I realise as viewers we'd be losing out on Alex as Greg's sidekick, but honestly, it's long overdue.
Um greg would have to be one as well. Let the debate begin on who would then be the taskmaster.
@@RealCheeseOnly I vote for Hugh Dennis. Turnabout’s fair play 😁
@@RealCheeseOnly Alex's wife with bob mortimer as an assistant. Or maybe greg davies mom. From the brief moments involving her in this series and 'would i lie to you' I'm sure she'd be a good sport
What about jack whitehall as assistant to his dad
@@RealCheeseOnly good shout.. how about James Acaster as Taskmaster with Ed Gamble as the sidekick?
So I would try to carry the spider, a leg would pop off and then I’d try to tear off all it’s legs and bring them to the boots because I don’t remember it saying the legs needed to be attached. Just that the boots had to be on the Spider’s legs
The joke kinda bombed in studio but Greg's fisting joke was great
0:31 _I don't like this room. Bad things happening in this room_
Damn i love this man!
_P.S.:_ 5:43 🤣
Kathrine......Ahh ! Now I know what kind of people voted for Brexit and the Torrrrriiies 😂🤣
Spiders don’t have feet?
But wasn't there a clear space where Daisy did not varry a wellington boot? She got out near the spider, then said "Oh. I'm not carrying a boot."
Isn't she disqualified?
I'm pretty sure she did carry a boot, she just realized that she wasn't allowed to put it on the spider and go back to the room because she wouldn't be carrying a boot anymore.
why y'all call rain boots wellies
I love how embarrassed she is
I don't know what Katherine's morning routine is, but whoever her dealer is, I want an introduction, because she obviously starts off her day with some STRONG stuff.
And I'm not referring to a double espresso..
So when the reverse-sight helmet was put on so she could see, that was Alex's fault, no penalty; but Johnny gets dinged for faulty twine?
alex put the helmet on badly, so it was his fault. the twine wasn't faulty, it was made the exact same for everyone, explicitly stated here
People have different shaped heads and Morgana's eyes can see through lead anyway. The twine was on the same spool for everyone, on the same boots and tied the same
If you’re looking for strict logical consistency maybe TM, or any show with arbitrary subjective point awarding, isn’t for you.
1:19 and 8:36 ?!?
What's the historical significance of calling rain boots "wellies"?
The Duke of Wellington was famous for his.
Katherine always looks like she’s about to break down into tears
Usually it was tears of laughter but in this episode she seemed genuinely upset because Greg was really cruel on her prize task, which were masks that she made
When do the new series will be released on YT, or do the fat cats from Channel 4 disagree?
There is a streaming service just for taskmaster now.
I am not joking, but I can't be sure it isn't a joke.
They definitely disagree. There was one episode and I think even that one is gone now.
Shite I just realized she was in I.T.
