For any band, this could be a fitting and wonderful final form. But they're just getting started. This is two singles into album three, y'all. We're watching the start of their ascension, not the peak. Truly special.
If there’s another song similar or better than The Summoning on Take Me Back To Eden… It will go down as their best work to date . Even better than One and Two .
Sundowning is my favorite album. And I suppose only they could surpass it to me with this next album but I wish them good luck with it.

Technical breakdowns aside, I can't explain the serotonin boost I get when a smile breaks out on your face. It's so genuine and you can tell that you just love the sounds you're hearing. It's that impactful moment when you come to the realization that "ok, I love this song". I watch just for that reaction.

I saw Sleep Token live yesterday (setlist: Chokehold, Alkaline, Hypnosis, The Love You Want, Higher, The Offering) and they are SO commanding on stage. Not a word spoken between songs and a completely enthralled audience. The ambience they manage to create is amazing, and they're such technically solid musicians! Can't wait to see the Summoning live one day.
Aaaaaah I’m so jealous. That’s amazing though. The set list looks amazing and hopefully one day soon I’ll get to experience it live
@@ChaseCarneson They haven't done any headline touring outside the UK yet (to my knowledge), only support slots, but if the reaction to these new singles is anything to go by that's just a matter of time! I'm seeing them again in June for a festival date :) But they have a couple of headline dates left this month in the UK - def try and catch them if you get the chance.

As soon as you mentioned how you knew they foreshadow in the start and draw on it throughout, I went holy shit I get it now - I get why it tickles my brain so good. My brain saw the pattern, but I didn't.
Every section feels so good in a different area of my music taste.

They are really evolving and how they aren't bigger already is just wrong. I do think that this year they are going to absolutely explode and will be doing truly huge tours. Sleep Token are a band I would prefer to see in a much smaller venue for the intimacy but they will absolutely destroy arenas.

Older fans such as yourself can truly appreciate the little things, like the heavy scream, the guitar solo. New fans are in for an awesome journey with Sleep Token. Like you said sleep Token will put you in a dark room where you can’t see the walls. But this time the house lights turned on and you find yourself in a beautiful jazz night club. It's such a perfect way to describe what they've done, and how they got there. It's as if they went "ok, so we made it heavy: can't really go heavier. Is there a different way for us to fill the room? How about making it as dense and lush as possible with brass and groove and synth and dynamics instead?"

Hearing Chase talk about not quite filling the room, and more coming later, at the first chorus is spot on. The second chorus doesn’t just fill the room, it blows the walls of the room clean off
Sleep Token doesn’t miss. I can’t even say “I don’t know how they don’t miss” because it’s very clear why they haven’t. Such a talented group of musicians just making…beauty. They continue to evolve and I canNOT wait to see how they grow with their next release.
Don't sell yourself short, Chase, some of us were introduced to Sleep Token through your reactions, so thank you as well as the people that recommended them to you, and so on down the chain. That's my second favourite reason for why reaction channels should not be so easily denigrated. Great reaction as always! On that note, that part where you were talking touching the ceiling, that twinkling bit of piano in there felt more to me like they were showing us the ceiling before touching it, like burning embers in the air or something. Sleep Token are amazing storytellers. They have some much atmospheric elements at the beginning that makes you feel like you are maybe performing a "summoning" of some kind. And when the band does kick in, you feel off kilter and trying to find your footing. Like you feel that up and down of emotions and anxiety and then the end is not what you expect. You think they are going to do that thing where they drop that heavy beat back in, but they just give you a groove that is just so unexpected. It's fantastic.

This was a JOURNEY, for sure. Very rarely does music speak to me on such a deep level, and this song is definitely up there on the top of my list. I can't get enough of it. These guys are phenomenal.
EDIT: I love seeing the reactions of longer time fans of Sleep Token. You can tell the impact in how much they can do in their faces. When that scream came in, your expression just shows how good they are, and how much more they can grow.
I love how this song encapulates the road of discovery and evolution that Sleep Token is on. Everytime I think that I figured them out they put out something like this that throws me off guard really hard, in the best way possible. The skills of these guys is amazing and just keeps getting better and better, with more and more techniques. For example Vessels screams now, on top of being a better singer then a few years ago. I really wonder where this group is going to end. They deserve to be the next big thing.

There are so many moments in this song that on the first listen, you think they are going to do one thing and you were excited for it coming up, but then they do something different. That can be risky to do because that can be disappointing. But in this case, it ends up being a continual delightful surprise. I have found that in repeat lessons, there are some really subtle foreshadows of some of the unexpected turns before they actually happen (solo, breakdown, funk,etc)Interesting that it is so carefully planned out like you said. Definitely my new favorite song from them.
Sleep token are masters of sound design and song structure. The engineer on this is awesome also. The chunk in the metal part is amazing too. Worship. 🤘.
It affects me in my core to connect with others like yourself. People who listen and appreciate all the skill and thought that is put into good music. It's one thing to tap your foot and bob your head to a song but is something completely different than those that have the hair standing on their arms and allow them themselves to be transported somewhere else while FEELING the music. You are a treasure, Chase. Thank you, for being you.
It's because of your channel that I even know about Sleep Token, let alone appreciate them even a fraction as much as they deserve. I love this song, it goes from heavy/angst/unsure feeling building up to an unexpected confidence/swagger, and I love it. So thank you, Chase, for introducing me to yet another amazing band. I happened to see they're touring relatively nearby this month, and I knew I had to jump on the chance to see them live; I cannot wait - they seem a band that's meant to be most appreciated live.

Seen them live last week and it was hands down the best live performance of any band I have ever seen - and I have seen a lot of bands over the years. Vessel sounds exactly like in the studio live.

I really like concept you mentioned on how the band are basically creating and walking you into a "room" with the song. The structure, technicality and seamless genre bending really makes the ceiling feel massive and shows the range these guys are capable of. They nailed it perfectly with that ambient synth section, it built suspense and where a lot of people might have expected either a slow fade out or a gut wrenching breakdown, they did neither and threw in something new and unique and it still somehow fits perfectly. Looking forward to whatever Sleep Token have in store for us this year
Observation: spatially, it felt to me that vessel was placed physically right behind me. No matterwhich way I turned. His voice and the keys seemed to originate there, but filled the "room" (I totally agree with your estimation of the space).
The last, funky section had so much swagger. Heartfelt, confident and passionate. So. Damn. Good.

I'm ecstatic. I've been looking forward to your reaction since it dropped! I hope they get to see how you appreciate their music. I dont think that appreciation and gratitude could be portrayed any purer or more genuinely and be taken more to heart by an artist.
And I love what you said about them cresting a room. The only word that came to mind when hearing this song was "expansive". It felt like so much space but that they and I and we were growing outward. Like the way the universe is constantly expanding. Expansive in that they were trying new things and building on what they already do so well. Emotionally just...more. not overwhelmingly so. Euphorically so. It's like when you love someone and they do something that makes your heart overflow with gratitude and love and appreciation. An overflow of euphoria. And it doesn't "pull back" so much as it just changes to something more digestible. Like dreaming.
I don't normally watch reaction videos, but I absolutely love yours. It's like unpacking a song with a good friend who truly appreciates it as well. It's that shared passion and I'm smiling right along with you as we enjoy it. Thank you for these videos!

What I love most, and most people aren't listening for it.... but you can hear it. If you listen closely, there is an organ in both visits to the hook, and that makes the chorus sound SOOOOO big.

i got in to Sleep token because of you! at first i did not "understand" the music, but you have explained the concept of structure and complexity of music in a technical way that clicked in my head
This song took me on a ride. From the beginning being heavier, then the instrumental part making me almost sad. It put me in a emotional headspace, and then when his vocals came in it immediately made me happy. It shocked my senses into pure bliss. What a masterpiece they created
