Technical breakdowns aside, I can't explain the serotonin boost I get when a smile breaks out on your face. It's so genuine and you can tell that you just love the sounds you're hearing. It's that impactful moment when you come to the realization that "ok, I love this song". I watch just for that reaction.
As soon as you mentioned how you knew they foreshadow in the start and draw on it throughout, I went holy shit I get it now - I get why it tickles my brain so good. My brain saw the pattern, but I didn't. Every section feels so good in a different area of my music taste.

Not a word spoken between songs and a completely enthralled audience. The ambience they manage to create is amazing, and they're such technically solid musicians! Can't wait to see the Summoning live one day.

I'm seeing them again in June for a festival date :) But they have a couple of headline dates left this month in the UK - def try and catch them if you get the chance.

Observation: spatially, it felt to me that vessel was placed physically right behind me. No matterwhich way I turned. His voice and the keys seemed to originate there, but filled the "room" (I totally agree with your estimation of the space). The last, funky section had so much swagger. Heartfelt, confident and passionate. So. Damn. Good.
I love how this song encapulates the road of discovery and evolution that Sleep Token is on. Everytime I think that I figured them out they put out something like this that throws me off guard really hard, in the best way possible. The skills of these guys is amazing and just keeps getting better and better, with more and more techniques. For example Vessels screams now, on top of being a better singer then a few years ago. I really wonder where this group is going to end. They deserve to be the next big thing.
Sleep Token are amazing storytellers. They have some much atmospheric elements at the beginning that makes you feel like you are maybe performing a "summoning" of some kind. And when the band does kick in, you feel off kilter and trying to find your footing. Like you feel that up and down of emotions and anxiety and then the end is not what you expect. You think they are going to do that thing where they drop that heavy beat back in, but they just give you a groove that is just so unexpected. It's fantastic. like always, a great video! HADGD!
Don't sell yourself short, Chase, some of us were introduced to Sleep Token through your reactions, so thank you as well as the people that recommended them to you, and so on down the chain. That's my second favourite reason for why reaction channels should not be so easily denigrated. Great reaction as always! On that note, that part where you were talking touching the ceiling, that twinkling bit of piano in there felt more to me like they were showing us the ceiling before touching it, like burning embers in the air or something. This was a JOURNEY, for sure. Very rarely does music speak to me on such a deep level, and this song is definitely up there on the top of my list. I can't get enough of it. These guys are phenomenal. EDIT: I love seeing the reactions of longer time fans of Sleep Token. You can tell the impact in how much they can do in their faces. When that scream came in, your expression just shows how good they are, and how much more they can grow.
There are so many moments in this song that on the first listen, you think they are going to do one thing and you were excited for it coming up, but then they do something different. That can be risky to do because that can be disappointing. But in this case, it ends up being a continual delightful surprise. I have found that in repeat lessons, there are some really subtle foreshadows of some of the unexpected turns before they actually happen (solo, breakdown, funk,etc)Interesting that it is so carefully planned out like you said. Definitely my new favorite song from them.

It's because of your channel that I even know about Sleep Token, let alone appreciate them even a fraction as much as they deserve. I love this song, it goes from heavy/angst/unsure feeling building up to an unexpected confidence/swagger, and I love it. So thank you, Chase, for introducing me to yet another amazing band. I happened to see they're touring relatively nearby this month, and I knew I had to jump on the chance to see them live; I cannot wait - they seem a band that's meant to be most appreciated live.
Seen them live last week and it was hands down the best live performance of any band I have ever seen - and I have seen a lot of bands over the years. Vessel sounds exactly like in the studio live.
I really like concept you mentioned on how the band are basically creating and walking you into a "room" with the song. The structure, technicality and seamless genre bending really makes the ceiling feel massive and shows the range these guys are capable of. They nailed it perfectly with that ambient synth section, it built suspense and where a lot of people might have expected either a slow fade out or a gut wrenching breakdown, they did neither and threw in something new and unique and it still somehow fits perfectly. Looking forward to whatever Sleep Token have in store for us this year

I'm ecstatic. I've been looking forward to your reaction since it dropped! I hope they get to see how you appreciate their music. I dont think that appreciation and gratitude could be portrayed any purer or more genuinely and be taken more to heart by an artist. And I love what you said about them cresting a room. The only word that came to mind when hearing this song was "expansive". It felt like so much space but that they and I and we were growing outward. Like the way the universe is constantly expanding. Expansive in that they were trying new things and building on what they already do so well. Emotionally just...more. not overwhelmingly so. Euphorically so. It's like when you love someone and they do something that makes your heart overflow with gratitude and love and appreciation. An overflow of euphoria. And it doesn't "pull back" so much as it just changes to something more digestible. Like dreaming.

I love how this song encapulates the road of discovery and evolution that Sleep Token is on. Everytime I think that I figured them out they put out something like this that throws me off guard really hard, in the best way possible. The skills of these guys is amazing and just keeps getting better and better, with more and more techniques. For example Vessels screams now, on top of being a better singer then a few years ago. I really wonder where this group is going to end. They deserve to be the next big thing.

Sleep Token are amazing storytellers. They have some much atmospheric elements at the beginning that makes you feel like you are maybe performing a "summoning" of some kind. And when the band does kick in, you feel off kilter and trying to find your footing. Like you feel that up and down of emotions and anxiety and then the end is not what you expect. You think they are going to do that thing where they drop that heavy beat back in, but they just give you a groove that is just so unexpected. It's fantastic.

That's my second favourite reason for why reaction channels should not be so easily denigrated. Great reaction as always! On that note, that part where you were talking touching the ceiling, that twinkling bit of piano in there felt more to me like they were showing us the ceiling before touching it, like burning embers in the air or something. This was a JOURNEY, for sure. Very rarely does music speak to me on such a deep level, and this song is definitely up there on the top of my list. I can't get enough of it. These guys are phenomenal.

It's crazy how many times I've watched your Sleep Token reactions and I find something new to enjoy every time. Brilliant 👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏽
There are so many moments in this song that on the first listen, you think they are going to do one thing and you were excited for it coming up, but then they do something different. That can be risky to do because that can be disappointing. But in this case, it ends up being a continual delightful surprise. I have found that in repeat lessons, there are some really subtle foreshadows of some of the unexpected turns before they actually happen (solo, breakdown, funk,etc)Interesting that it is so carefully planned out like you said. Definitely my new favorite song from them.
Your reviews always leave me with a greater appreciation of the tracks I had already fell in love with prior to watching. Can always greatly appreciate the level of thought and depth you give every track you review.

It's because of your channel that I even know about Sleep Token, let alone appreciate them even a fraction as much as they deserve. I love this song, it goes from heavy/angst/unsure feeling building up to an unexpected confidence/swagger, and I love it. So thank you, Chase, for introducing me to yet another amazing band. I happened to see they're touring relatively nearby this month, and I knew I had to jump on the chance to see them live; I cannot wait - they seem a band that's meant to be most appreciated live.

Seen them live last week and it was hands down the best live performance of any band I have ever seen - and I have seen a lot of bands over the years. Vessel sounds exactly like in the studio live.

I really like concept you mentioned on how the band are basically creating and walking you into a "room" with the song. The structure, technicality and seamless genre bending really makes the ceiling feel massive and shows the range these guys are capable of. They nailed it perfectly with that ambient synth section, it built suspense and where a lot of people might have expected either a slow fade out or a gut wrenching breakdown, they did neither and threw in something new and unique and it still somehow fits perfectly. Looking forward to whatever Sleep Token have in store for us this year

And I love what you said about them cresting a room. The only word that came to mind when hearing this song was "expansive". It felt like so much space but that they and I and we were growing outward. Like the way the universe is constantly expanding. Expansive in that they were trying new things and building on what they already do so well. Emotionally just...more. not overwhelmingly so. Euphorically so. It's like when you love someone and they do something that makes your heart overflow with gratitude and love and appreciation. An overflow of euphoria. And it doesn't "pull back" so much as it just changes to something more digestible. Like dreaming.

Their other albums are amazing. The songwriting is just on a whole other level. The vocalist is absolutely insane, his range and control and the emotion he can put into his voice is wild.

What I love most, and most people aren't listening for it.... but you can hear it. If you listen closely, there is an organ in both visits to the hook, and that makes the chorus sound SOOOOO big.
Seeing the amount of views that Summoning and Chokehold have gained in such a short amount of time compared to previous videos is really exhilarating.
