- Today's episode ingredients
48 oz. clear melt and pour soap base
(2) 48 ounce loaf soap molds
Coffee soap fragrance oil of choice.
Instant coffee granules (finely ground)
Titanium dioxide (I add glycerin to it to get a smoother mix)
Directions:
Making the coffee soap sticks:
1. Melt 8 ounces of M&P soap and add 1 packet of single serving instant coffee or other finely ground instant coffee. Add fragrance according to manufacturer's instructions.
2. Pour 4 oz. in one of your molds and the other 4 ounces in the other mold.
3. Let it harden, it will still be pliable, but set up.
Preparing the remainder of your soap base:
4. Melt remaining soap once the above is un-molded.
5. Pour 15 ounces into a smaller container and use your titanium dioxide to whiten this as desired. do not add fragrance to this as it may discolor if it contains vanilla. Set aside.
6. In a small bowl mix 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder and 1 Tablespoon of glycerin (you can sub in alcohol if you don't have glycerin). In the video, I mixed it at 1:1 ratio and found this was too thick. Also, I mixed more cocoa than I needed. This new ratio works much better and mixes into the soap easier.
7. Add the fragrance to the main batch of soap as well as your cocoa mix. make sure you also add just a smidge (1/16 of a tsp) of titanium dioxide to offset the main soap from the soap sticks.
8. Pour your main soap base into the mold. Spray the surface with 91% isopropyl alcohol. Set a timer for 15 minutes (10 in cold climates).
9. Check your white soap base. if it is starting to set up, microwave it for about 15-20 seconds. you will want it to cool to 120* or below, but not cool too much or be too hot.
10. After your soap has developed a thick skin (see our video on swirling melt and pour soap), spray the surface of your soap and pour half of the white.
11. Use the handle of a spoon to swirl the white into the main base. See video.
12. Spray your soap sticks and insert as per the video. Spraying the coffee soap sticks helps ensure they adhere to the base.
13. Spray the top and add remaining white base.
14. Wait 3-24 hours to un-mold.

Beautiful. 👍🙋♀️🌷
Beautiful. I've been looking for a coffee inspiration soap. This was perfect. Thank you. Now I think I need a French Roast cup. Thanks again. Great video. 🥰
I know!!! I always feel the need for coffee after I use this bar or make it. 😂 Thank you for watching!
Love this❤️
I was thinking of starting my own soap business. And this is so helpful for beginners. I’ll happily work with melt n pour. Thanks a ton!
You are welcome a ton.
Super Cute!! 💕💕💕💕
Tried this soap. Loved it. The aroma was awesome. Sold 10 soaps
Excellent work!! Thank you for your feedback!
How do you sell them?
Oooooo pretty!! love this yes I may give this a try I was thinking of making milk ice cubes and do a reverse ice coffee theme! Thanks for sharing!☕☕☕☕
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful
Love it ❤️
Love that design. Bet it smells amazing 💖
I love coffee and this fragrance is so amazing! Makes me think wax melts would be nice.
Oakleaf and Ocotillo oh for sure. I make a caramel cafe’ Latte wax melt that I absolutely love love love.
I've been trying out this style of swirling lately, made two and I want to put in some embeds on the next one. I use the small white square instead. It's a neat idea.
Thank you!
Hello there, I love your videos, you're a very talented lady 😊 I have a question: Do you wrap this soap in plastic after is cure? Or can this be just in a dry place no wrap?
Thank you!
I usually leave them out for a week or two and then wrap. You can store them in plastic containers, but make sure to use a separate container for each soap or they will start smelling alike.
Music too loud and distracting
Thank you for your feedback.
Just subscribed after watching the Swirl video... and I'm just shaking my head the entire time LOL ( In a GOOD way ! ) I was wondering how the heck you were going to pull that off and BAM there it was !
Hi Kathryn! Best review to date. Thank you! 😉
My God!!! This is something extraordinary 🤩🤩🤩🤩 just loved it 😘😘😘😘 thanks 🙏🏼
Thank you, Deepa! Please share to people who need this.
Oakleaf and Ocotillo needless to mention 😚😚
Good for using glass and not the dumb plastic
I use plastic for cold process and glass for glycerin. Glass is not recommended for cold process soaping because of the heat reaction. Glass has been known to shatter, even Pyrex.
HOW MANY LBS OF SOAP DID U MELT DOWN ALL TOGETHER
The mold holds 52 oz.
I thought fresh unused coffee grounds would stain and bleed everywhere though?
Fresh ground coffee does bleed a little bit, but some people like that earthy look. I used instant coffee to color my soap, so it didn’t bleed out.
You could use fresh ground coffee and then strain it out with a strainer. Make sure your soap is above 120* or it will stick in the strainer.
Thank u for ur great vid ! I’m literally waiting for my supplies to come in today yippee 💕👍🏻 what ratio do u use for fragrance oil to ur soap? 🧼
Thanks for watching! I follow the manufacturer’s suggestion at their highest rate (I like my soap scent to stick around after the shower). If your supplies are from Brambleberry you can use their fragrance calc. Most other suppliers have the ratios listed on the fragrance page. If they don’t list melt and pour specifically, I would check either by phone or email.
Thank yiu for taking the time to respond to my questions 💙💙💙 lovely work 👍🏻
You’re very welcome. Happy soaping!
Please loose the music or turn it down thanks
I apologize for that. It’s hard to get the balance right with voice overs. I will keep working on it. Thank you for the input.
I wonder if you could still edit the video and lower the sound to the lowest possible setting .. very annoying cant hear you at all!
I will look in to that.
I mean... these just need whipped cream and I could eat them!
Right! I agree. They smell soooo good! Thank you for the comment.
Really liked watching this but couldn't hear you explain it that well, your music is too loud.
Thank you for the feedback.
Trying to hear you but the music gets too loud. Must be the reason for the thumbs down because otherwise it's a great video
We are working on that.
Thanks for the encouraging words too. 😃
Ridiculous music, had to turn sound off
Yes. I was having a hard time finding coffee house jazz.
I’ll be honest, the audio of the whole video is terrible. I don’t blame you.
Love this❤️
