It's "Spears" not "Boat Gig"
@@xebio6 Yep... definitely NOT Boat Gig
They were so bloody good. And so unappreciated. One of the best fusion bands ever. Thanks.
One of the most unappreciated fusion groups of our times 🎶
underrated fusion band
I agree but I would go as far as adding "in the history of music". I have seen Jeff Beck, Allan Holdsworth, Robben Ford, John Scofield, Charlie Hunter, David Fiuzinski all several times and Scott Henderson is one of the greatest players I've seen or heard.
It is not underrated band at all. They are well known worldwide
Us fusion players are academically gifted. The ones who don't understand that? Instead of trying to learn, they mock. Some of them can become dangerous; thus the reason Larry Carlton got shot in the throat. It's sad because we could be free. Look what has been done with technology. We have murderers driving around with tags on their car that call them God! Just the other day I seen a car like that. I quit being smart. I will not let those creeps steal from me. Like Scott couldn't have handed EVH his ass in a guitar battle? He could have done that, but he didn't because he knows what music is really about.
Joey Heredia on drums 🤘🏻
And young Peter Griffin on Keyboards.
In Copenhagen he was replaced by another Joey.
The Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison who played a fine concert as TT of course did (guess you have to if you ever wanna play with a jazz band again).
The equipment is burning 🔥
To me Tribal Tech always kind of reminded me of Weather Report with say Allen Holdsworth instead of Wayne Shorter. In fact I never got to see WR live but I saw a Scott Henderson concert in NYC and they played 2 or 3 WR songs. Awesome stuff.
Seen Allan Holdsworth and Weather Report live, but never Tribal Tech. 😢 I love Scott Henderson's playing. So underrated.
I used to know Chet Bakers son and he was a SH fanatic. He saw him with Joe Zawinal. I didn't. 😢
What a day! Friday, 13 august, 1993. I hadn't see them since 1992 in L.A. at Musicians Institute. Scott used my plugs, can't remember why. Kind of odd soundcheck, great show though. Then we went for dinner. Gary on fever, he had a flu, still shredding insanely!! Such a nice guys, top level musicians, awesome music. The good all times, can't believe that 30 years passed so fast.
Gran banda! Scott y Gary willy.tremendos musicos!
Gary Willis is unreal here. Fucking insane playing
Oh hell yeah. We need more TT whole concerts, this made my night.
Thanks for posting this treasure.
Fantastic that this concert was recorded and with the great Joey Heredia to boot!
Thank youuuu for this TTech with Joey H., 👊👊👊🎼🎼🎼
Thanks for uploading this. So amazing.
Awesome❤ ❤❤ From Japan

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💥💥💥💥💥
Scott mainly plays blues than jazz is what i noticed
what a monster band...only known to fine conossieurs
HAHAHA Face First when all the smoke comes in and just engulfs them
Tragic that the video quality of this amazing show is so horrible.
There’s an error in the titles. Instead of “Boat Gig” the song title is “Spears”.
The date of 1994 for this concert doesn’t make sense since drummer Joey Heredia playing here supposedly left the band after recording “Tribal Tech” in 1991, and then Kirk Covington takes over on drums for the next 1992 release of the “Illicit” album… yet Heredia’s playing some tunes from a pair of albums that Covington plays on… so did Heredia rejoin them for some touring in 1994, after leaving the band?
Does anyone know what happened to Kirk Covington for this tour?
A boat gig probably
@@soydavidvidal
What’s a boat gig problem?
The date is friday 13, august 1993. Teatro California, Santiago de Chile. Can't remember very well after 30 years, Covington was at his boat gig I guess, so he couldn't make the tour. After this they played in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
It's embarrassing TT wasn't able to get more than 200-300 spectators here in Denmark. Especially thinking about how much Danmarks Radio allways have been doing to push not main stream music just like this.
I used to go see TT & Scott at this small club in Studio City, near North Hollywood, CA. Probably 2003-2004. I probably went to see him 40 times at that club. There were plenty of times when there were 12-15 people in the audience.
@@pneumatic00 It's totally far out considering how popular main stream music is. I just don't get it. Maybe you have to be a musician or a potential musician to be able to comprehend it. Those guys are geniuses.
@@pneumatic00 I know that club...The name was something like...Lavalei? Lots of good music could be heard there when I was patronizing it ftom 2000-2002...
Mark F. Yes, "Lavelee" = "her and him" in Hebrew. Fantastic Club, an anomaly in LA even twenty years ago. I know I saw Scott there at least 40 times during that time. I felt guilty at times as many times as I went to see Scott, but it was a no-brainer spend $12 door & drinks and have your mind completely blown. He never had a bad night.
@@pneumatic00 Thanks for your response! Yes, it was a great place...and thanks for teaching me a new word!
Cheers✌🏾
who knows what type of bass Gary is playing? in 1999 came his first GWB-1 out..
sorry for my English
It looks like his Ibanez signature model
Pregunta.
But are those D'Addario strings?
👍👍👍
thanks, thanks, thanks!!! anyone knows who is the drummer?
The great Joey Heredia! He was previously featured in Tribal Tech’s self-titled album in 1991.
@@anthonytle00 First I thought it was Joey Jordison because of the long hair. He was playing with Tribal Tech at the tour in 1991 or 2 or something like that. But the close up shots of him shows a guy looking far more like Heredia. And even more does his technique.
Joey Heredia
Sorry to ask but, is that Joey Heredia, at the drums?
Yes
@@laszlokaszas1832 Thank you for the answer! I think he bringed a lot to TT!
p sure kirk was in the band by 1994. This date is suspect
Who is the drummer?
Joey Heredia
Who is the drummer !
Joey Heredia
@@laszlokaszas1832 One of my favorites.
@@laszlokaszas1832 Thanks! I knew it wasn’t Kirk.
when Scott Henderson was at his best, I don't like hos sound and approach after Tribal Tech.
Go tell it to Wayne Krantz
The best live Tribal Tech video I haven't been able to find on youtube for at least 2 years. It was 1993 or 1995(I think 1993) and had the best version of Big wave.
