That's a MI17 that was first introduced in 1981 in russia while US black hawk which is the standard troops transport helicopter of the US and it was introduced in 1979. Both are heavily updated for modern requirements and these troop transport helicopters have served india for decades now and this one probably the V-5 version of Mi17 which is among the best in its class, even US Chinook was introduced in 1962 which is much more older than this helicopter but both of them are of different class, chinooks can be compared to Mi24 which is a heavy cargo lift helicopter like CH47 chinook

it is not MI 17, it is MI 8

It is indeed the Mi-17, not the 8. They are both indeed different though they come from the same line. The main visible difference is the tail rotor being on different sides on the two models. The 17 is also supposed to be more powerful. Please search online for more information - it is readily available.

It's indeed the Mi-17, infact the brand new Mi-17 V5. The specific helicopter has was part of a VVIP airlift, facilitating airlift for PM/President/VPoI.
