Zone battles. Could be set up like 60s playing staged rush games through a zone, or just "bring all your level 15-19 to the bridge between duskwood and redridge and let's play KoTH"

You can do a WpVP event by just toggling /pvp on... it is an organized event so that is easy to do.
@@Unahim Well yeah but having pvp on all the time makes the world feel more dangerous. Too many RP guilds specially military themed ones seem to always be standing on ceremony. I want them to back up there image for a change. -3-

Tips, my man, you made a video explaining why :
a) I want WoW Classic back
b) why I don't like modern MMOs.
WoW classic is more than just "a game", it's more like a scoial platform. And it's why it's worth having a subscription imho.
I played ESO for like 3 years, geared up my stuff to their max quality, crafted all my item sets I could - I don't like PVE that much - and I got all the PVP sets from the BGs and the TriRealm combat area in Cyrodil.
In no case I ever spoken to another person, other than reply to someone who asked me for me to craft them something. Why? I didn't have to. I could solo elites, I could solo dungeons (Stamina Tank Sorcerer for those who played). In WoW classic? If I didn't ask for help, I would not do any quests in Searing Gorge. I would not be able to ask for help in Defense chat for them to come help me with this piece of shit dwarf rogue that just keeps ganking me on my shaman. In other MMOs? I can't even be hit by other players in open world in ESO. I stole a guy's gathering nodes, Master treasure chest and shit, and he ASKED ME FOR A DUEL, to kill me. I declined, threw an /ignore at him and went on my merry way.
Keep doing community events man, you are showing the modern developers what people really want. You may get trolls and griefers from the other faction ,but I'D TAKE THAT OVER NOT HAVING ANYONE IN THE WORLD AT ALL.

I think Chance would have won the entire thing if he didn't get feared out that one duel. He was about to beat Snutz. He would have moved on to the final. Venruki beat Cdew, so Ven goes to final.
Ven vs Chance, mage doesn't stand a CHANCE vs druid.
It wasnt a "community" event. It was a streamer event.
The future of Classic WoW will not have events to this level. You have a concentration of streamers on one realm with thousands of eager fans of WoW who are unable to access Beta. It was a good event, but I imagine events like this in Beta will be the "peak" for Classic WoW unless there is some sort of "entertainment" super-realm that holds all the streamers/aspiring-streamers. Of course, a special "event" realm with copied characters from a home realm would be cool for stuff like this.
A streamers super-realm or maybe streamers-only realm actually sound like a really good idea. They should do that.
I wouldn't be so sure, in BC my realm had an impromptu duel tournament with a couple hundred people spectating. It was held on one of those floating rocks with everyone forming a ring around the outside while the duel took place in the center. It was pretty sick. Community and social interaction seems to happens a lot more easily in classic, people will come up with all kinds of weird ways to have fun.

hey tips. why not make the duels in the gurumbashi or dire maul arena? like this u can avoid the interruption of duels when feared out of the duel flag and you can make horde and alliance participate at once
Great work with that level 30 tournament. It was great to watch and what it's done for a lot of streamers has been immediately noticed in their personal viewership.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed watching. I liked your commentary but really enjoyed watching the duels from the participants POV. Maybe you could add a link to the players streams before each duel if you wanted to watch them compete in first person view a little more easily?
Tips any idea if Blizzard will provide some solution for horde / alliance balance on servers?

I was so sad to see the vod disappear from your twitch channel. I had been at work when it happened and I wanted to watch it in total, I got about 30 minutes in, and poof...I was a sad panda.

Theres alot to do. Lvl 1 or more of every class to 60 and max gearing every one of them. Maxing every proffesion on a character of your own. Then twinking your favourite classes. There is so much to do. 4 years wont be enough imo
Problem is most people don't think like that. For one, they don't want all classes usually. For another, many of them don't like twinking or don't see the point. And for another, once your raiding group has people in Naxx gear, they can boost a new character from lvl 60 greens to Naxx gear, no problem. Having a few members of the raid be undergeared is not a big deal in Classic.
Inspect will be in classic ? Like I can inspect peoples equipped items ? Didn't know about that
Tips, any chance you will do additional class or other guides? Other ideas: "pure vs hybrid" or what "hybrid" classes are like?
Hey Tips, this may be a little long but this video reminded me of my most favorite part of vanilla wow. I joined a guild back in vanilla that loved doing big community events for our realm. We would host server parties, we would advertise and farm mats for weeks. We would make our own quests and send people to get certain items or whatever, we even started doing running of the gnomes races. We became very well known on our realm and everywhere we would go people would recognize the guild name and thank us for all the fun parties. That was the best part of wow was the community coming together for some fun. We did that till around Wrath or Cata, I miss those parties and community events and look forward to others putting them on in the future. For anyone who wants to know the guild is Sleeper Cartel on the realm Perenolde, they are still going to this day. I don't play on that realm much any more but they gave me some of the most fun moments of my life in wow.
This dueling tourny was awesome. I do hope we see 2v2. It really interests me to see the comps that would be created if there was a truly competitive area for people to both duel and 2v2, despite there being no rewards/gear.
If Classic is super successful and retains players, I wonder if the devs would consider re-development of the expansions using the lessons they've learned (assuming they have) over the history of WoW.
That's exactly what I am thinking. It seems so unlikely but also like a smart move.

This is what the PvP crowd did on my old server during Vanilla, for the longest time. Before BGs were in game: duells. Waiting for BGs to pop: duells. They even started doing duells, when premades met in BGs, instead of playing the BG, as to not inflate killing blows. We had weekly tournaments for gold in an out of the way predestined part of the world, like Wetlands or Hinterlands. For many this is the PvP they remember.

To start, I would like to say that I am extremely excited for Classic and Aug 27th is not coming fast enough. With that said, there are several concerns to keep in mind with the release of classic and community events.
Currently with the Beta, you only experienced a hand full of trolls and grievers during the dueling tournament. I feel this is due to the fact that the people involved in the Beta have a general understanding of "Community and Respect," and just the lack of testers in general. In this current day and age, expect this type of event to not go so smoothly in the live version of the game. Everything nowadays are about memes, and you can bet that dueling tournaments will be grieved heavily for one reason or another (I wish it wasn't that way). I have a couple thoughts on how this could be prevented and would be happy to discuss them with you @tipsout if you're interested.

Great discussion. The impact of streaming on Classic will be interesting to experience.
Also, it will be interesting to see how Classic plays out once the formal content has been exhausted. Will we see the same sort of complaints and player drain that always happened at the end of expansions in the past? When people are geared up and don't have a carrot to strive for, what then?
these issues are YEARS away we dont have to think about it for at least 2 years
If there is no threat of TBC--aka the guild breaker--we will see much more variation in terms of spontaneous community-led events. When we knew that new content was on the horizon, it changed vanilla completely. Guilds that hadn't finished AQ40 (such as my own) petered out in terms of raiding effort (though the Christmas season didn't help there at all), and the drive to improve and continue to experience the original game pretty much died.
That won't happen in Classic. There is so much more potential this time around for people to enjoy the journey to "end-game" and really branch out and experience things that no one has experienced before. Great video.
I don't understand the point of people saying WoW has Finite content. Most games are finite. You don't play a game once and never touch it again. That being said the community for Classic is what makes the game ultimately different every time.. because the people will be different.
Classic you're always working on something. I'd defy anyone to say that they got every item and done every thing on every class in WoW.
theres only 7 raids but when vanilla first came out only a few guilds that i knew actually was able to do all the raids, it was still very hard to do because you needed the right guild and it takes time so gear back then was so rare and meaningful , pvp was also harder in i believe it took alot of skill . i never even got into naxx, or a full aq 40 run, i didnt get all my gear from bwl just some. when the tbc came out i just went to the new zone lol and for me pvp i can play forever

I like the idea of tournaments. I have also an additional take on it. So fare I enjoy the hell out of the beta servers even i had no invite jet. All this big names running into each other is hilarious to watch (on stream and RUclips). So I would love to see this continued with a „streamer server“. It may solve some problems attached to streamers but mainly because of the entertainment that picks out of it. I would also like to see would they could do together and it would be insane if the drive and creativity from the streamers is also shared to all servers, not only to the single one with this streamer or that streamer on it. long post. In my vision, in my idealistic head, Blizzard would than take the opportunity und creates gates from all servers to a special tournament area/instance/server. Every one can join. Blizzard could make The landscape fit these type of events, like you guys choose a special area. And they should be temporarily. We have seen this tournament theme implemented in a much smaller scale all over in Azeroth, but never with a big streaming Event in mind. Yeah sure, this is only a rough idea but I like to think about what could be possible. And I like the combination of both, streamer servers with it own little ecosystem and tournament areas.
The beta only has the 1 PvP server, on live all the big boys will be spread out across servers... if they don't have tourney realms it will be a struggle to get those big numbers again.
I propose two MASSIVE level 60 dueling tournaments per year. Round robin style, not single elimination, so you can truly see aggregate win rates.
Each Spring: "No Holes Barred" style round robin tournament. Any and all consumables, from flasks to pots are allowed.
Each Fall: "Pure" style round robin tournament tournament. NO consumables EXCEPT reagents for class spells (soul shards, thistle tea, symbol of kings, etc.)

There is layering though
When Classic goes live I want to see streamer guilds do huge fights for the world bosses, instead of just dominating a server by themselves and not having competition. It would make it fun for viewers and people that join their server.
Tournaments at 60 are gonna be impossible due to griefers and trolls, unless you are willing to pay for BLizzard to set up a tournament server, or willing to pay for a GM to sort out the trolls.
I have repeatedly said since Cata that the World had been taken out of World of Warcraft. It became Raidcraft and a smaller Arenacraft. People for years dismissed these views. Yet now.
I am pleased that so many others recognise it at last.
The game hopefully will be worth coming back to with the launch of Classic and with the help of streamers such as yourself creating these types of events to participate in or just simply be there as part of the crowd is what we need. Well done.
The next step for Wow Classic is to give developmental control over to the player base so we can all help "Make Wow Great Again".

Blizz will need tournament realms or all streamers are gonna play on one server to participate in this.
That would be awesome if all streamers were on one realm. Would leave more servers open for people who don't like to the idea of stream audience members in their groups lol.

Tournaments like this should be done in contested zones so everyone's flagged. That way one faction doesn't have a tab target advantage. Set up a perimeter, all spectators must stay outside, only the combatants are allowed in. Any trolls jumping around or sitting on totems are KOS, since everyone's flagged that can happen. If people keep messing have spectators spam a macro targeting the griefer killing them if they come within range.
Tips puts the BEST community events in Classic WoW. Can't wait to see what will be in Classic's future with player run stuff.

Having only recently come across your channel after hearing about Classic WoW only a few weeks back, I just want to say that I find your videos to be quite professionally done and enjoyable. You have a natural talent for this that I think would serve you well if you ever decided to go for something bigger.

I've been wondering why they wouldn't do some sort of super long 'seasonal' system like Diablo where they make a new server and start over again. Of course, this would be a multiyear process, but it can keep the game feeling fresh in the future. Do you think this is a viable thing or am I missing something?

It seems less and less like a beta, and more like a 3 month free advertisement experiment from Blizzard.
They could have so many more players testing if they wanted to do a thorough beta.

I’m conflicted between avoiding/joining streamer servers. I imagine playing in game with Tips and it’s super exciting, but I know the cons that might come along with that. Hopefully I’ll have a better idea the closer to Classic we get.

Back in the day when we had server communities there were always events being arranged on the Blizzard forums and in general chat. It was really cool. I played on an RP realm so there were probably more than on other servers but I still remember tons of events. Everything from arranged pvp battles, RP treasure hunts, Races, memorials. None of these things needed the devs to do anything the community just did it. I miss those days, hoping Classic can bring it back :)

Saying 2 years later theres still going to be lots of community events, a thriving community etc is wishful thinking. 2 years is a long time to be on the same content, the same limits even if its classic wow. But we shouldn't then go down the same sperglord infested mainstream road (because we know where that leads) we should then like Mark Kern said and like OSRS does while being infinitely more successful than its retail counterpart - go down our own path with classic, expanding on it while also keeping the core values and foundation of what makes it classic. ruclips.net/video/uoTWfiPjql8/видео.html some interesting insight from Mark Kern and their thoughts and ideas on classic and why they made it the way it is and what could have been and what should be..

@@Elearen Uh that's not true at all, and you know he is kinda right. By getting into the Beta TESTING, they also are responsible for actually testing the game.
@@Elearen These guys did absolutely nothing to get WoW Classic that the normal masses didn't do already. These people were playing private servers. They are not "leaders", they are entertainers. Being in the beta and neglecting to test and instead diverting a mass amount of people to standing around NOT testing defeats the very purpose of the server being online. When it releases, THEN you can create these events if you like, other wise these people should be in the world trying to find of there are any buggy quests, items, NPCs, etc. That is the purpose of a beta.
There's nothing they "should" be doing. They aren't paid by Blizzard for being in the beta and have no responsibility to test anything.

Dear Tips, dont you think that the dungeons on the Beta are way easier than they should be / were back in vanilla ? From what I've seen elites in dungeons and in the open world hit weaker than they should ...

Hey man, I've been following your content over the last many years and I would like to throw my two cents in: Jesus Fucking Christ. Tips, please do yourself the favor you have absolutely earned and enjoy this time after all you and your peers have done to earn it. World of Warcraft history is yet to be made with this tournament, you guys are going to destroy the expectations going forward and we viewers will support you the best we can. Part of what makes BDO have such a vanilla-wow community feel is there's no fast travel, theres no phasing when too many players get together. You see the same people running around in the world doing shit and recognize members of the community.
Sells itself as a world to do anything in...except not when streamers are involved. Saw Asmon say the people that trolled your duel tournament should have had their beta access revoked. This goes against everything vanilla is, if people want to gate crash your party you take steps to stop it.
Crowfall will have player driven content.

@@BrothersAroundTheCampfire I agree with you that player created content makes the community more lively and fun. But it has to be organic and cultivated in game. A steamer promoting his event just seems too artificial and makes the game esportsy. Which is what we are trying to avoid with classic in the first place. This is how Blizzard came up with arenas. And arenas killed the game. I want to play classic because of that sense of adventure and organic encounters. I want people to want to raid ogrimmar because people banded together in game, not because a bunch of streamers promoted it. I want the randomness and spontaneity of classic wow, not steamer-backed social events. That said, you do you. Maybe I'm just not into that whole twitch community. To each his/her own.
I really hope the good folks at Visionary Realms don't follow Tips Out's suggestion and follow suit to make the Pantheon twitch or steamer focused. That's not why we play MMORPGs

I agree 100%. These aren’t community events - these are streamer events for the community to watch, which isn’t Vanilla. Honestly this type of event mainly feels like a way for Tips to make more money.
