Voice of Baceprot (bah-cheh-prott) have some original releases and some very fine covers and have toured Europe and Festivals. I saw them several times live in Europe and I love them! Theyare Indonesian and are schoolmates. They discovered Metal through their music teacher and it was love at first sight! Also, their lyrics are always meaningful. They advocate a modern, tolerant approach to Islam, women's rights and social justice. The mouths taped shut are a symbol of the lack of free speech that always goes hand in hand with intolerance. Schools need a revolution instead of formatting kids into narrow-mindes, soulless machines unable to live their dreams.
Indonesia is a Muslim country, and not a particularly intolerant one, but it takes a lot of guts to do what they do. As a reminder, for fundamentalists it is forbidden to listen to music, since they think it is made by the Devil.

They are just a handful of young girls, the vocalist is just 19 years old, the bass guitar is only 20 years old and the drummer is the same.
