  • Converting a set of LGB hoppers into Canpotex potash hoppers. The LGB hoppers are short, and work fairly well as 47' potash hoppers.

Those look amazing! The pictures you posted a few weeks ago do no justice to the amount of work that went into these. I cant wait to see them in revenue service

Thanks Vincent. I'm tempted to add a few more to the fleet. :)

@@nsnjrailfan1617 Not at the moment, but if I come across some more, I'll certainly be tempted to buy them.

Excellent scratch building. Were do the sizes and dimensions come from? Do you take on apprentices? I could send my resume haha. Very impressive work.

Thanks Anthony. I was lucky enough to get to crawl all over the locomotives and rolling stock with a tape measure before I retired.

How did you know John? I have two 10 foot pieces of 4" PVC pipe just waiting for me to tackle the project. :) I think designing them will be a challenge, but some year I'll tackle it. I plan on starting with a 40' Procor sodium chlorate car. Hopefully that will teach me enough to move on to the larger grain cars.
