yay, just made more of these & my daughter tried using Baking Paper instead of plastic and omg, it came off easily, without a single tear & almost nil effort *happy dance* :)
I just want to say thank you so much for this tutorial, it was exactly what I was looking for. Your technique is so simple yet brilliant, I can't wait to get started on my own. Also? You're freaking adorable, and have rockin' hair. Thanks again! I look forward to watching more of your videos in the future.
I love your video on making a masquerade mask! Are hours of trying all sorts of different techniques, yours was perfect! One suggestion is to exchange the plastic wrap for parchment or waxed paper. They're fairly transparent and won't stick to the glue. Again, amazing tutorial. Thanks!
a friend I had did this but with normal glitter and a LOT fell off and damaged her eyes (she fell over while wearing it), and that tip about the cosmetic glitter will be a life saver for her in the future. Thanks a bunch for the tip!
Thank you for the idea! I am hosting a Masquerade ball for my sixteenth birthday and I just recently found my dress. So, I have been scrambling to find a mask. I will probably use this design. Thank you for putting out this tutorial!
Lace masks are denfinatly in this session, this look so sophicated, so unique, its betuiful and mysterious and the perfect accesory to any mascarde ball outfit you plan for your next gala bash, i recomend this to any person planning thier own mascarde ball, lace is denfinatly, check this tutorial out and like this video, i rate it 10/10 for beauty and talent
wow. genius! you are so beautiful in your costume with the hair and the mask. Again, wow. Just fab. I hope you have the other cuff and mask tutorials already. I'm going to check now. bye
ty! I did find it as well as several others that I enjoyed very much. Btw, my daughter got her doctorate in art history- she teaches at Virginia Tech and travels to Holland at least for summers to research women in Dutch art (her expertise) so, against the odds she realized her passion too. Be well
@Tammy, due to your youtube settings I cannot respond to your comment directly. But I had to fiddle with the printer settings a bit and print it off a couple of times to get the fit right also. Trial and error is also how I figured it out. Full page is probably too large I am guessing 20 X 25 is what I used but it depends a little what programme you use to print it off.. Make sure to untick 'fit picture to frame' or it will cut of the picture. Hope that helps you out a little
you can also use a hair dryer to melt away the tiny hair like strings of hot glue that happen when you pull away from the project AND to warm the glue up for shaping. You did a wonderful job, it looks great!
Beautiful, I love the bracelets & masks, and I cannot wait to try my hand at making them myself with my cousins. Thank you for sharing your great talent!!
Bravo!!! Beautiful job! Thank you for the making this video and for sharing your creative genius! Just a thought about the mask template sizes, if you download the image design you want to use and save it to your photo editing program, you can make it a perfect fit by adjusting it with a percentage, either larger or smaller, with your photo editor, then print it out. Instead of printing it out at 100%, try 97%. I had to play with my photo editing program a bit with small tweaking adjustments, usually less than 3%, to get a perfect fit! We used to be able to do this directly with printers/copy machines, but most printers don't offer that feature anymore. Its just a work around to make minor adjustments to the size of the designs. Thank you again for sharing your brilliance!! Love your bracelet tutorial too! I started with that one first! Keep up your beautiful work and do have a lovely day!
This is amazing! So simple and easy, but the end result is gorgeous! I had a little trouble with the plastic sticking to the mask on my first try, so on my next try I used parchment paper instead, which worked perfectly!
Made this mask for my prom and it looked amazing! Received lots of compliments and others didn't think it was a diy mask even through my glueing skills weren't so great. The imperfections didn't stand out. The only thing I didn't like is that the mask didnt mold my face as well as I wanted it to. Thanks for sharing this video!
Great to hear you tried it! Maybe the hotglue is not all exactly the same from different suppliers - I can imagine that if some have a higher meltingpoint it might be harder to soften under the tap perhaps....
thank you so much for sharing, lovely, lovely video and like the end pics for even more ideas. I am returning all the stuff I just bought at the store...way too blah now. I like your idea so much more!!!
Gorgeous tutorial! Getting to work now. My husband also mentioned that he adores your accent, so now I’ll be attempting to talk like you... I don’t think it will work. So maybe I’ll just keep your videos playing in the background. 😂. You’re lovely! Thanks the tutorial!
Thank you for posting this video, it really helped me. I'm actually making the mask for a masquerade contest. I'm making my own template for the mask. I made the dress that the mask will go with too. Anyway, love the video and your hair is really pretty~
Wow it's so pretty! Thanks so much for the lesson, initially I was like I don't want to use hot glue because I will probably injure myself haha, but then I saw the result and it looks so worth the effort.
thank you!! your idea is great. I want to do the mask of fifty shades of grey fot my sister and your vídeo gave me the solution. Greetings from Chile!!!
the nail polish is a great idea. That is great! Let's admit it, we all have some left over glitter nail polish or some polish we don't wear enough to "use up"
I enjoyed this tutorial very much, you explained the process clearly and completely thank you, its beautiful, I'm so happy to know how to make this, take care lil' lady, have a beautiful happy and joyful life xo
This video is super helpful! I'm currently waiting for my vampire diaries inspired mask to dry...yay! I think attempt #2 will be the winner...using a hot glue gun can take some time to master. Excited to see the final product once I apply rhinestones :) Thank you!
Thank you for the tutorial. This might have been made a long time ago but I still think it's good and relevant. :) To make things easier when pulling the glue off I've seen people use a little bit of oil and glass rather than plastic. Just in case someone is interested in another way, I personally use the oil and glass so I know it works. :)
yes thanks, I saw that tip - I did try one of those first but maybe my tulle (netting) was too heavy duty (really stiff with big holes) and I couldn't get the plastic off so gave up on that one. My second attempt is better but I used kitchen wrap and maybe my glue gun runs too hot as a couple of places it's melted the plastic and stuck to the paper as well. (I've seen glue guns with low melting point glue but haven't used one.) I'll have a go with fine tulle & a plastic sleeve today, fun :)
this helped me out so much because my school decided to do a masquerade for its homecoming theme and I didn't want to repeat anyone's mask who was going to I made my own
Thanks I just finished three masks and some arm bands gladiator style for the masquerade Ball with your technicue. HappyNew Year and fun Partying to you.
Im betting you could do this but double the thickness of the glue and then use that to make a mold to easily creat the same ask over and over. Great tutorial. Gonna try this for my next fashion photo shoot.
Hi from NZ!! Thank you for this tutorial, I was looking for a great DIY mask that even I could do (I'm not the best crafter lol). Big luvs and thanks! :)

You are very welcome and hope you enjoy my other videos
You should use parchment paper. Hot glue doesn't stick to it! GORGEOUS MASK! Thank you for sharing luv! ♥

This is such a convenient idea yet so beautiful in the end. Thank you for uploading and I absolutely love your hair and creativity

ps fantastic job on the mask it beautiful

The shaping was a step I would never have guessed. Good job!

Also, old ballet tip-- cut the ribbon in an inward "V" shape, and the ends won't fray (the "V" should point back to where it is tied to the mask)
What a fascinating technique! Thank you so much for putting this tutorial together.
who would have known, very talented, creative, thanks for sharing.
This is amazing! So simple and easy, but the end result is gorgeous! I had a little trouble with the plastic sticking to the mask on my first try, so on my next try I used parchment paper instead, which worked perfectly!

Yea, I agree. The mask in the picture looks like it can hold itself up and is stiff while mine is really flimsy and doesn't hold it's form well
..
this is a very simple easy way to make a very beautiful mask!
