- The 'Islamic State' group says it perpetrated the knife attack that killed three people in Solingen, Germany. The terror militia's news agency posted a message claiming responsibility for the mass stabbing at a festival to celebrate diversity in the western city of Solingen. But it provided no evidence for its claim. Police have detained a 15-year-old boy they believe knew about the attack in advance, but they're still searching for the man who carried out the stabbings.

Our india 🇮🇳 is the 4th strongest military and 8th strongest economy, and look at our cities, streets, road, and houses 🏠. Its undeveloped and poor like Africas poorest town. Look at Singapore Taiwan and korea, they arent in the list of these caterories but their cities are clean, developed, and futuristic. Most of us are uneducated and we need to fix that. We also act like our India is the only country that invented stuff. @@rudyraymoore6915 The people have no power to change what is happening because it benefits governments in the short term (wages, artificially bumping up certain economic markers, etc) and it benefits multinational businesses to maintain or even accelerate what is happening.
Democracy is essentially an illusion at this point. It's why you can vote in Conservative governments who you believe will change things, but things actually get worse. You can vote in the Conservative option in record numbers, back to back to back for the next 50 years, and it still won't actually change anything. Same with a certain country (my lawyers advise me not to name names) voting to leave the EU, which was almost entirely a one issue vote over immigration, and again, things just got worse, and if anything they accelerated the problem.
Fundamentally the only way it changes is by completely reordering the structure of the entire Western world from the biggest businesses, removing power from the most influential figures and by completely changing things at a governmental level. So if we all vote one way on an issue, that is what passes, with no exceptions. No loopholes ("we can't do X because of such and such law"), no media pushback in tandem, no saying you'll do one thing and then making it worse -- if people vote for X then X happens.
Which is a pipe dream, obviously.

A ban on knives does two things:
1) It shows everyone that knife attacks are indeed rising - which is sad
