About the film:
Extension was a film shot in under 24hours by filmmaker Ryan Mjoen. This was his first submission to the Art of Documentary "One-Day-Doc Competition" where it won the audience award. The One-Day-Doc Competition is held twice a year by the AOD community exclusively for AOD members, it's a chance for many filmmakers to shoot their first film or hone their documentary skills and put to test what they've been learning in the AOD academy. The 24hour format forces filmmakers to stay very focused on a sharp, precise story. Many AOD filmmakers have been able to take their films to numerous reputable festivals afterwards.

This is top class, it's not a feel sad story , it's about a guy telling us about his life , ups and downs , that's what I like about it. Even the lighting is different, gives different emotion

This is so apropos. I started filming a short documentary recently about a young man paddleboarding from the Bahamas to Florida to raise money for children with Cystic Fibrosis. Can’t wait to watch!!!
One thing that really hit me is how much the hopelessness and nihilism that he felt because of his disease led him down the most destructive path he could find, and then when he began to view the world through the lens of hope instead then things took a turn for the best. What an awesome guy, his story really helped to shift my perspective

Good film and great story, it could have been interesting to start with "I lived by the live fast die young kind of motto... fuck it, I don't care, if I don't have much time, let's just enjoy this time," then play the intro and follow with how you started the film. I would have done this because it grabs my attention, and more people can relate to that motto than having CF.
Stunning guys, a powerful story, great shooting and the dramatic Audio makes it very real. Great side story as well, felt like I was there and sharing the pain.
Sooo sad that I can't join the AOD community again this time. But at the same time I am sooo excited at where the community is going 💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥
