    Another great video. You have got the optimum I think. I love to see your bike too
    I would love to hear more about your bikes, charging and maintenance etc. Your commentary is fantastic and your English is amazing. Thank you.

      i do show the bike at @28:53 but i guess at some point i could add a small explain at the end of one of the videos if you want. My english is ok i guess its more that you always forget things once you are recording :) Thanks for the feedback i will now focus more on providing background and information since i think we get most of the technical stuff resolved. The feedback you all have been giving is helpful...

    I can not thank you enough for taking the time and recording this video and narrating with your voice over it. The crips sharpness of the DJI camera is amazing even compared to my GoPro hero 12 that I have recently got. Your video looks like we the audience is actually right there in person. I left you my first comment that you could not find in a reply to you so see if you can find it. I am an American who lived in Eindhoven for 5 years as a expat and recently had to return to the USA unfortunately. I truly miss the Netherlands very much and is miss the Dutch language and foods but more then anything I miss “Mijn Fiets” I enjoyed exploring on my bike as you say in a way that lets you see your country in a special way. It is very true. So thank you “Mijn Frend” Dankje wel 👍💪🇳🇱

      I will answer all the messages you left today but i could indeed not find the first one but i think you placed the comments in a different one now so i can reply. Sorry to hear you had to go back i assume work related. I travel a lot and one thing i really would miss is indeed the bicycle infrastructure and its probably the biggest reason i would not even consider moving anywhere else. On the video yes i think the 'neck cam' and bicycle combo now gives me a very stable image for the dji action4 to work with so it has todo less work to make it stable and as a result more sharp. But i also think DJI's last update where they added 10bit in normal mode (not log, that i find changes too much during a ride to make it really handy to use) is a big part of it. Also i do record all in 4k 60P at 110MBit h.265 so the files do become very big most of the files i upload to youtube are around 80G to 100G. I don't to much in the editor (final cut pro) i change the color and balance the exposure curve a little when needed and since i turned off noise reduction and sharpness in the camera return a little sharpness when needed in finalcut pro. Somewhere in all these steps i now seem to have found the balance to make it look nice. In my next videos ill talk a little more about my next plans since i do plan to add more information and story telling into these videos since i think the technical parts are kind of ok now. Again thanks for the feedback.

      I completely agree the 10 bit verses the log method of recording is a big difference on how your videos are coming out so crisp and sharp and clear. I guessed you were filming in 30fps or 60fp as I don’t see any motion blur that you would get if you shot at 24fps. Do you really think shooting at 60fps is necessary? Wouldn’t you get the same results if you shot at 30fps? Thus making the files sizes of the videos almost half the size? With the same quality? Unless you needed to do slow motion in some sections of your videos. Well again I thank you Mijn frend for taking the time to make such enjoyable videos for everyone to enjoy. I share them with my family to show were I lived and why I miss it so much. “Doei”🇳🇱@@dutchbicyclerides-ss1ko

      In my lasting the 60p also helps the action4 to get the image stable as far as i can see 60p and shutter of 1/200 and above give the best results. Ill probably retest 30p at some point but that was my feeling when i tested maybe that has changed now with new firmware. I personally am ok with big files i use a Mac Studio Ultra for editing and have a 1Gig upload to a local youtube/google cluster in amsterdam. Since this channel has no ads it just means youtube puts you in a slower queue when encoding. It kind of makes sense they first do videos that makes them more money in ads.

      @@dutchbicyclerides-ss1ko I see thank you for letting me know. Shutter speed makes sense so there is no motion blur with higher shutter speed.

    • @dutchbicyclerides-ss1ko
      @dutchbicyclerides-ss1ko  Год назад

      @@RViscara The higher shutter speed (1/200 or 1/400) is really needed not for motion blur alone (but yes thats why i don't use 24p i don't want to be movie like i want to be more real. The extra shutterspeed is needed to the stabilisation can work these only work in these action cams really well if the shutterspeed is 4x or more the fps.

      Yeah that was a close call but we are all going so slow and she and i where looking out for the boy on the bicycle i think. Also you can't see my head and that i also signal her a little. Lastly if we would have 'hit' we would probably by that time go lower than walking speed and probably laugh and say oops and move on. Do keep in mind that the video because of the angle distorts a little i tried to make it as realistic in view and height now as i can but i have to find a balance between showing you as much as possible and being a POV ..... Thanks for watching and the comments i am pondering how to add a little more 'interactions' with people and objects.

    Hello! I've really enjoyed how you present your video and the helicopter view.
    I have 2 questions for you since I own a DJI action 4 as well :
    1) are you using a chest mount or helmet mount?
    2) the settings you've used on this video and you have color graded it
    Thanks and keep up these amazing videos

    • @dutchbicyclerides-ss1ko
      @dutchbicyclerides-ss1ko  Год назад +1

      Thanks, i am still working on how i want them to be in a few months but the camera is now kind of done i think, i use a neck mount (without the extra strap) 'PGYTECH CapLock POV Neck Mount for DJI OSMO Action 4/3' that works fine i flip the action4 upside down so it ends about 10cm below my adams appel. The resulting height on the bicycle is about 160cm which is about the same height as a small females eye-leven on a bike. A helmet bike gives two problems in the netherlands 1) most of us don't use helmets on bicycles 2) we look around a lot to 'communicate' with others on the road and the movement would be too much in my view i suspect that works better for sport style riding. On the camera settings i record in the new 10bit normal mode sharpness -2, noise reduction -2 4k60p at 110Mbit, horizon balance mode. shutter speed 1/200-1/8000 this has to be at least 1/200 to let the stabiliser in the action4 do its job. As you can see i don't use log i tried but i find the changing situations on a bicycle too much work to grade by fully. The new 10bit normal mode is a good compromise i feel the camera uses all the live data on the fly for the best image. I do grade the colors and some of the curves to my liking in final cut pro and also add back some sharpening. Hope this helps but i am still on my quest myself so follow me since ill probably change and talk more about things. I am today writing software to add something really cool (in my view) next to the helicopter view.

      @@dutchbicyclerides-ss1ko Thanks a lot for explaining with plenty of details! I see that indeed you put a lot of effort in your videos and you deserve plenty of subscribers! You've just got one here !
      The helicopter view that follows you is it from a software ? If yes, could you please share the name of it ?
      I'll try to adjust my OA4 to the same settings to obtain similar footage. Currently I've realized that I spend too much time color grading.
      Anxious to see more videos! Cheers from France

      @@adriendenoye yeah let me know if it works do keep in mind this is for bicycle videos where i feel using log for example is just too much work because of changes all the time and it needs special settings in other areas. For 'movie' like say a interview would use more traditional settings and use log.

      Yes very correct it’s what we say “on the spot” meaning under the spot light on a stage in front of a audience. We call the handles on the bicycle “Handlebars” oh and I have a question what are the two things on the bike on this video to the left and the right side of the bicycle on the front by the handle bars? Two black pouches or cylinder things? @@dutchbicyclerides-ss1ko

      All R&M bikes have bolts to attach a front rack and/or water bottles. Many people instead use a brand called fidlock (www.fidlock.com). These are amazing magnetic/twist method and many things you can attach. I have several for water, coffee, bag with snacks etc etc. You can also get other connectors i have them on my backpacks for example so i can remove one from the bicycle and click it on my backpack within 2 seconds.
