I'd like to see this engine come to market. If it was in the right price range, I'd consider it for a swap.

The new supra is a f joke BMW motor ,wow toyota can't build a great twin turbo motor any more what happen ??again a real car enthusiasts didn't buy this crap the suckers did ,just like the suckers bought the over priced 70,000 k honda civic type r ,lol the people that have the cars are not buying them because they understand or know the history behind the cars they are buying the cars to be trendy and cool , there not real car enthusiasts, they out priced the regular person who had been waiting to own one of this cars and now are pissed off

Weak take. If you're pushing 340hp at 500lbft, then you're revving to about 4000 rpm. If peak torque is 1800, that gives you a severely limited power band, with old-school turbo spool times.
If you rev faster, without balance shafts, the secondary balance issues will quickly destroy the motor.
That's why this is a defunct stationary engine, turbo'd it can sit there & make 200-340 horses all day... But if you wring it out like any gas car motor.... it'll shake itself to death.

Do you know what’s wrong with every engine that is not an LS, too big, too heavy, too expensive.

No offense to Rich but I can only relate to Scott's comments and his car thoughts and his vision of cars ,he relates to late 90,s-2000 cars when the American car seen took off with japanese cars , He understands the cars that true car enthusiasts wanted back then and still want now , rich there was no after market support for a Mazda speed hatchback because it is a Mazda nobody hooks up a Mazda slow go , the only Mazda worth support was a Rx-7 Mazda never had a big market for aftermarket support, Mazda is that weriod uncle nobody wants to hang out with ,Mazda lol .........😂😢

    3.6L?
That is a BIG 4 cylinder!
    Hard to balance the vibrations.
If you try to rev it up too much, it would shake the fillings out of your teeth!

One engine id like to see is an OM617 with another cylinder on the end and a DOHC CAST-IRON head. It would be smoother, more powerful, and just as reliable.

@@TopiasSalakka 606 used aluminium. Great engine, but not quite as tough as the 617. Aluminium isn’t the best material for a Diesel engine head unless it’s extremely well developed. In the OM602/OM603 Naturally aspirated engines, they’re fine - but the turbo ones kind of left a slight negative mark on the classic Mercedes Diesel legacy.

The reason why you dont see big displacement 4 cylinder engines is once you go past a certain displacement the engine will vibrate excessively I think its past 4.0 that there cant be done much to mitigate for vibration even adding more counterweight to the crankshaft wont work.
