Fun fact for those who don't know the mythology well enough: Ares is only technically a God of War. He's actually the God of Violence. There's multiple Gods/Goddesses of War. Athena for example is a Goddess of War but in the realm of Strategy. Nike is a Goddess of Victory which is also a Goddess of War. Ares is the God of Violence which is obviously an aspect of War like the ones I've mentioned already. There's many others I won't list off but the point is they're all Gods/Goddesses of War but they've all got a specialty in it. Ares is most often just dubbed the 'god of war' being as his specialty in violence is the one most heavily associated and tied to War itself via Violence.
I didn’t know that thank you for sharing, thats so interesting,, but by the looks of things as you mentioned some great points, as you know this is taken from real events from the past, they've just either put it as supposed mythology which is in fact history, this is how they come up with things like this Diana is a small g god which has destroyed every nation she's been a part of, they always screw it around, and it's like bad cop good cop in these movies, allegory or covered it all up, changing like King David said "he'll change times and seasons, they purposely changed dated ledgers from Latin I or the J on coins etc either combining the I & J where it would say i586 the Jesuits and others put 1586, they've added on a 1000 yrs. where in fact everything we hear all happened around 77 AD around there, the fall of Rome, invasions it all happened far closer together, as a Christian I've found out there’s been many anti-Christ’s but this is going to happen again,, they got to get rid of Christianity first, then there’s no resistance, then God will remove his restrictive hand off Satan to rule for a short time, they're be perceive peace at first, but it won't last long, the Anti-Christ will reveal himself, and announce himself as God, this is the last time people have to make hard choices, but there will be the two witnesses and the 188,000 that will witness to the people, angels will be directly sharing the true gospel, they will finally overcome the Saints and then people will join with the Nephilim, which are Gants, there’s pictures of them starting to come to the surface more than ever, this is why "soft disclosure like Ancient aliens had to be green lit by the shadow government, of a skewed so called UFO's which supposedly helped humanity, if they ever did, it was always to benefit themselves, and it always ended in catastrophe, but now called UAP's (Alister Crowley drew the grey alien type which called himself Lamb, he said "today they call hem demons, but tomorrow they'll call it something else" are excepted now more than recent times, (demons) and the son of perdition, the veil has been lifted and people will plainly know there’s a God, they're again bringing back technology that existed in the past, but they will choose to go to war with him, they are working as we speak with the Nephilim and the Satanic kingdom to re-start when it was exactly but worse in Noah’s day. we were far more advanced than even today, but it's speeding up. we've progressed suddenly more now than recent history. they will go to war with Israel either this means the place or people in general, probably both. God told Satan in the garden his plans after he had Eve and then Adam to sin against God, to fall out of the council. Genesis 3:15 Romans 16:20 and so on.
@WelshmanSudios You had me in the first half. Unfortunately, I'm a non theistic Satanist and quite firmly believe in the motto "No God's, No Masters". The only thing I'd like to point out for you is the Bible is a corrupt work of men. Where once there may have existed a true Bible it was not in English. Thus there are many translation errors. Also you've got simple human hubris, those who sat down and decided by themselves or by council what to put in the Bible and what to remove. Thus the Bible no longer is the true word of God. Just a bad fanfiction.
By that rationale, shouldn't Vulcan/Hephaestos have chimed in here, as the smith, and god of weaponry and artifice in general? If Oliver Reed was still with us, he could've reprised his role from Terry Gilliam's, "Adventures of Baron Munchausen"...
Fun fact. There was two gods of war. Ares was always known as the God of war but in reality was more like the god of battle and warfare as in the material bloody part of it. If its a bloody, ruthless combat Ares was likely there. The other was Athena. Who usually was seen as a goddess of knowledge was actually a true god of war as she specialized in tactics and strategy much of the important decision making in a war. Course people don't like to mention that often.

What I also like about this film is the chemistry between Wonder Woman & Steve Trevor. WW was strong and feminine. Steve was strong willed and manly. They both respectively treated each other for who they were. Neither made it like they're better than one another.
Apparently Lupin just pretended to be meek powerless werewolf; instead he orchestrated whole wizard war, poisoning relationships between the purebloods & muggleborns from school, breaking the most powerful family of Blacks first with Sirius, then with Tonks. Only he unknowlingly challenges the god of death and had to stage his death, running away through multiple realities to wind up here, where his magic allows him to be a god.

David Thewlis’ voice is so rich and authentic. He played the role of Ares to the bone.
3:28 best armour transformation I've seen in cinema
3:31 the one issue I have one is I had hoped they had his face not be shown and just glowing red eyes like the comics
Honestly this look is better in live action for this fight scene. His red eyes on black would not have looked that good for a fight scene.
The best actor of this character and always will be
Idk why i love his Voice so much 😍
Nice of Ares to let Steve and Diana have a final moment together.
I love how she’s learning the full extent of her power in this scene.
Like at 0:47she’s learning that she can fly/ float
At 1:10 she’s learning how fast she can go

I guess some people just forget that Diana used Ares’ own attack to kill him, and that he was weakened by Zeus significantly, and Ares’ power comes from war or fights.
Yo that suit up scene with him melting in the eye holes is so amazing.
Love that look when Diana realizes she's outmatched more and more, but still charges him fearlessly.
Yes and he temporarily defeated her. I wonder how it would have ended if she didn't see Steve died 🤔

0:22 YEAH! SHOW HER PROFESSOR LUPIN!
What I also like about this film is the chemistry between Wonder Woman & Steve Trevor. WW was strong and feminine. Steve was strong willed and manly. They both respectively treated each other for who they were. Neither made it like they're better than one another.
*I thought Lupin died in peace together with Tonks...*
Afterlife bro...
Barry changed the damn timeline again. Can’t stop getting over mommy dying at the hands of a man in yellow.

That Ares suit-up is still some of the dopest shit ever.

After watching ww1984 I realized the scenes in this wonder woman are way better.
I prefer the first one a lot!!
At least Maxwell Lord and Cheetah are WAY better villains than Ares
@@JoelMiller431 what? Ares was a great villain greatly potraied
@@fm_0523 yeah no. He does have some good dialogue and action scenes, but Ares didn't really made that much of a presence in this film. Like, it was really random for Sir Patrick Morgan to be revealed as Ares. He only appeared in the first and third acts. He wasn't even given hints that it was him all along. Not to mention the fact that he looks nothing like his comic book counterpart
@@JoelMiller431 wow he was put in as a plot twist
Diana is incredibly powerful. People forget how powerful she actually is in this universe.
I expected Ares to be more of a Strength build. But he puts his point in intelligent and telekinesis
He did show his strength in this fight... where she choked Diana using 1 hand, and she was unable to break free despite using both hand.
3:45 He reminds of the Ebony warrior if you take of the helmet and replace with a ebony helmet.
shawn mcneill well as they say. Imitation is the greatest of flateries

Boy is David Thewlis is a chameleonic actor, he always finds a way to disappear in every character he plays,

When your not ready for the final boss but you still fight him anyway
Kratos: why did you take so long diana ..
Ares: oh shittt
That transformation is epic man
knowing that Ares Kicked Darkseid's ass, this movie seems so much more complete.
How? It's kinda wack how ares one shots darkseid and yet WW somehow beats him. They really need to explain how either; 1.Ares got way weaker or 2. Darkseid was way weaker when ares beat him. Because how tf does WW struggle with Steppen If she can beat ares

Yes she can fly.
No just float. She doesn't move anywhere
She can only levitate, according to the DCEU Wikipedia.
@Mike Lennon She hovered in the air for a few seconds then floated towards the ground. This simply proves that DCEU WW has never sore through the air like Superman or Shazam. Not even BvS or JL featured her "flying".
