Looking forward to playing on this terrain and with these maps at the Goonhammer Open, John. It will be interesting to see how the windows benefit shooters like Pathfinders (and anything else removing obscurity) vs hindering Melee teams, but conversely it will remove those ridiculous moments in Octarius where each team has 3, 4, or more units packed either side of the door in a stalemate for passage which usually requires 2.5/3APL shooters or strong melee units to break.
Ah great to have you there! Yeah the windows add sooo much. It does help teams who ignore obscuring but also stops people hiding half their team freely as you said aha
Very cool maps! They look like a lot of fun. Would be cool if the maps were laid out on a 1 inch grid like tpt did. However, the extra info explaining is pretty clear. This feels like a good mix of octarius with either the sector imperalis ruins or the manufactorum munitorum armored containers and a dash of ITD lol
That's so weird re octarius and ITD being OOP. Big negative of GW treating wargames as if they are video games that get new maps is this forced obsolescence of old terrain. Especially since the new settings are increasingly very bespoke. If the next one really is designed for flying units people are gonna have to move to third party terrain when they get into the game.
Have you seen the new Battle Systems box "Gothic Cityscape"? Pretty much designed for Kill Team, it's made of card but is pretty sturdy and fully modular so gives you loads of options for boards.
Any tricks for making the reconfigurable wall part with pillars (wall/door/window) more sturdy. If you touch that during play, it falls apart, since it is not glued😅
This video comes at the perfect time for me, I've been desperately looking for a 2nd hand set of Octarius so that I can play outside the shop with your maps for balanced setups. Im pretty competitive and realize the tremendous impact good terrain has on the game, and this looks really good imo, I do like lasered wood haha. Thank you for your continued work with the maps, people like me appreciate it a lot! Edit: do the doors and hatches in the heavy buildings have any effect?
I haven't had any contact with MDF terrain yet. Can I assemble and also disassemble it without any problems? I often play in different places and have to transport it back and forth as compactly as possible.
@@CanYouRollaCrit As soon as I try it I'll say something. lately I've been enjoying playing on Moroch using turning point tactics map pack. you like moroch ?
I ordered it, they didn’t send me the free mat as stated, I got no instructions and it wasn’t placed in the box well and a couple of pieces were damaged. Very frustrated with this terrain
@@CanYouRollaCrit shipping to the US is 40 euros. All together with shipping, ordering this terrain if you're in the US will set you back approx $130. Ouch! It looks nice tho.
I ordered a set of terrain and a mat from lusters workshop back in January of this year and still have not received it. I’ve attempted to reach out to him via email and leaving a comment on his video. The guy has not responded and last I checked I haven’t gotten a refund. If it takes this long then so be it but the no response, sucks. So if you know the guy and could ask him about order#10038 that would be awesome.
@@CanYouRollaCrit Oh, that's a bit better! I am currently working on the Gang Stronghold to use it in KT and it is a very nice set. I added a lot of Chaos bits and pieces here and there to make it look like some cultist outpost, but I'd really like to see some Xenos boards. Basically, after this cool Ork shanty town from Octarius, every time another KT box was announced I was thinking "oh, Imperial terrain again, so disappointing, maybe the next one will have the insides of a Tyranid ship, or a ruined Eldar temple in a jungle, or a Tau outpost or a Dark Eldar torture dungeon, or..." and every time it's just more dull, generic mechanicum structures :/
Definitely looks like shit compared to GW terrain. I get that event organisers need a way to fill tables but why would you want this personally when there’s amazing looking GW terrain.
I'm glad you've shown off this terrain, I haven't been willing to take the jump and buy any of the other sets so far.
Ah thanks, I really like the WTC Open set
I’ve been looking at terrain all week, can’t wait to get a few more ideas
So glad i came across this video
Glad you liked it (:

Yeah I can't do the grid so added the reference sheets aha
Yeah pretty much! Refeshing not needing the oilpump anymore

Yeah should be interesting!
Ordered a set! Dumb
Question, but what type of glue do I need for this type of terrain?
Nice! PVA glue works just fine, that's what I used (:

Oh no, I haven't heard of that :O
You mentioned us pricing or at least a rough equivalent. Does that mean to ship intentionally?
Ships internationally but cost is a little expensive 😅

Using blutac maybe?

Oh that's great to hear!
Yeah they work like doors and hatches in Chalnath and Octarius (:
The "Orc Mega Bunker" by TT Combat (30 pounds), is another solid option.
For the ITD wall portion, do you play the pillars as being flush to the wall like ITD? Or will they be used as heavy cover to toe into?
The latter as not on ITD (:
I haven't had any contact with MDF terrain yet. Can I assemble and also disassemble it without any problems? I often play in different places and have to transport it back and forth as compactly as possible.
Yeah you can for the buildings and walls but the terrain does store down very compactly when built
Important context for american players, shipping a set of this terrain costs $50 so the price in reality is close to $130
@CanYouRollACrit what type of glue did you use for this terrain?
Just normal PVA glue (:
hi, so I have the 4 Vertigo walls, if I mixed up some in to the dark walls, I can make this terrain and use your maps, thank you for this.
Oh amazing, that's great to hear! Let me know how you find the maps (:

lately I've been enjoying playing on Moroch using turning point tactics map pack.
you like moroch ?
I like Moroch but it's quite flawed
@@CanYouRollaCrit The way I see it, the flaws are what make maps different and fun ahaha
Thanks for the review! Nice to know of alternatives. Have you checked out Snot Goblin's new edition of modular terrain?
Yeah but I'm not a fan as it's pretty expensive sadly
@@CanYouRollaCrit Gotcha, budget options, I get that.
Do you share the laser files so we can cut the terrain at home? This is super useful!
Nah that would be down to Bandua who made the terrain
Will you release the map pack for kill team 2024?
Yup (:
Awesome, I've been really enjoying having the pre-made map and not having to think about balancing them myself 😊
Yes
It's the best

Ah I'm sorry to hear that, I'd advise sending them an email about it as they should give you a full set with everything you ordered
Interested in buying, but shipping to US kinda kills it for me lol.
Ah how much is shipping to US? D;
Maybe go for Lusters Workshop MDF instead?

the link is not working anymore, where can i buy these terrains?
Should be on Bandua
Just to be sure, about the doorway in your map pack.. if no cover lines cross the sidewalls or pillars, you are not in cover, right?
You mean if you're in the open?
@@CanYouRollaCrit yes if you are in the "open" part of the door
Yeah as you won't be in cover
@@CanYouRollaCrit thanks for the answer and the map pack! I feel like the map pack is what convinced me to order it :-)
Looks like the ITD one is also up for pre-order
Yeah that was a nice surprise haha
Looks very good playing wise. But for mdf pretty expensive though.
Is expensive but it is pre-sealed and primed which helps a lot imo. Also somehow still cheaper than GW 😂
I understand what you say. There are a lot of arguments for it. But also GW terrain is plastik.
Pretty cool stuff but i cant justify spending that money on more Kill Team stuff that may not even work if the system changes up in a few months
Terrain in general will be functional with a new edition but it's a good buy-in for new people looking to buy terrain etc (:
Oh, yes, Kill Team really needed some Imperium-themed terrain for more visual variety!
...
oh, wait...
PS: Maps look decent, though!
But they do Chaos Designs too

To bad MDF looks and feels bad tho😔
Nah this terrain looks and feels good (:
MDF just takes a bit of work but I've seen amazing MDF boards. Look up warsenal.
Yeah you can make it amazing in general and the best thing about this MDF set is it's pre sealed and pre printed so no need to seal and paint (:
I prefer MDF to foam. Foam makes those screeching noises I hate lol
