    I pre-ordered this KT last night, obviously before I watched your review, so I am glad to hear that they are actually good!
    Sad about them not having Grudges but I understand Resources are more thematic.

    I really like the philosophy behind this team. They start out with really good board control, but as they lose operatives, they start to suffer a lot from their 4 inch movement and smaller resource point pool.
    It kind of stinks that they outshine the scout squad, but I think they’re pretty well balanced, all things considered.

      Unlike Scouts, this team will burn through CPs like crazy. By the end of TP 2 you'll be on the 1 CP per turning point plan.

    The forward deploy ability practically said "this is sneaky git but a bit lesser" long live sneaky git. Gonna get this KT when on solo box

    Cannot use the two gun guy with the GA 2 ploy if you shoot during the ready operative phase (so not 3 killsbefore the ennemy activate but always 2 kills without using a CP)

      There’s still potential for 3 kills before enemy activation. If you win initiative you can use wroughtlock negotiation to get a shot off then use the GA2 ploy with two other operatives to potentially get a kill each. You can still use his ability he just can’t be one of the GA2 guys if you use the ploy

    Isn't faction TO1 easier than 2 since the enemy doesn't need to have scored a kill (which requires activation) they just need to have activated? So 2 is retaliation , 1 is retaliation *or* punishing misplays ?

    Would be interesting if the stats contained the maps/kill zones wins was achived.

    I’m a bit disappointed with the lack of judgment tokens rules in this team, the units look fun but it really confuses me why they chose to make votann team and ignore the factions identity, it’s like if they made a new necron team and they didn’t have resurrection protocols

      This guys have a Tac ploy which is basically a “grudge token 3 inch bubble”…i think is still something! (It also has “change a miss into a hit” which is something grudge tokens miss badly)

      @@01eksii not giving them a Grudge token equivelent feels like not giving necrons the reanimation protocols, thats why im a bit disapointed about it, its a big part of the Armys Vorthos

    I feel like they will probably update the scouts to reflect the better ideas put here.
    Not a scout or marine fan, though. So doesn't affect me! GIMMIE THE DWARF SCOUT BOYS!!!

    I am super confused why they have such low movement when they are literally the fastest unit in 40k for Votann with 6" movement.

    I am so disappointed that this team is slower and has a worse save in comparison to the salvager team. The forward deploys aren't really enough to be able to make up for that. It's just sapped so much enthusiasm I had for this team because of how much trouble the slow 4 inch movement of the hearthkyn salvagers was for me, so to have a team just as slow and now easier to kill? It's just so very mid

      Nah I think this team is more mobile than Hearthkyn with the resourceful points and forwards moves. Plus better board control

      Powerwise, I’m not sure they are worse than Salvagers but I agree that, in general, the supposed scout/commando option being slower than the regular militia option makes little sense.

      It is quiete obvious that our short friends were inspired by Grandest Sifu - Steven Seagal himself - in waddle style of slow walk. It may seem strange but in Sifus movies it always bring Him into his enemies reach so He can push them them into stuff. Lets snatch all of their MF birthdays!

      They have the ability to occupy key objectives right on tp1, and the super conceal to avoid getting obliterated in the said turning point.
      It solves all the issues i have with salvagers.
      It would have been nice to have some more good guns or AP solutions…let’s see how they fare…the fact that having two fire teams (5 hearthkin and 5 Hernkyn) would have made the perfect team, bugs me tho…🥲

    their abilities kinda bad, when it tries to make up for their poor movement, which is poor compared to other 8w 9 or 10 man teams with 4+ save.

    The hy-pex mine thing is weird, I think it gives too much information away to have tokens that are flipped to reveal if it's an active mine or not. The decision of whether a mine is active should be on a d6; maybe 5+ to be an active mine, 4- for inactive. It would make things a bit more interesting than "There are mine tokens in every chokepoint and 2 randomly elsewhere, therefore all the chokepoints are active mines" and also in maps where that doesn't happen, once an active mine has been flipped, the enemy knows that there will always be an active mine there even if you reset the token.
    It shouldn't be a case of having 3 real and 2 arbitrary fake mines, it should be 5 mines with a chance that any of them might fail. The current way seems like it will lead to a lot of boring plays where your opponent knows they will take at least 3MW and potentially 9 wounds total just for approaching so they simply don't go there. When every available path to engage has a mine in it, that isn't so much area control as it is stifling play. The only counterplay to blocking chokepoints like this is to set up and shoot from the other side.

      Don't you know what tokens are mines and which are blanks? It's only specifies that your opponent doesn't know this, I'll take a controllable option every single time over a shitty random chance.

      @@CanYouRollaCrit I'm just dipping my toes into KT. Coming from MCP where I have more token than I'll ever need, but at least I'll always know I have what I'll need and then looking at how GW handles things just seems insane to me. They just continually seem to make things harder than they need to for a few extra dollars.
