1:05....The little look back, I know that soooo well ;-) Old hardboot carver from Europe here, your videos makes me think of the good old days and wish for a snowboard trip again, I stopped the sport for too long in favor of cable wakeboarding...
Fabulous carving ! Kudo and thank you for the video ! Can you tell me about your snowboard , I know the waist width is 29.5 , but what about the length, stiffness, side cut radius and brand. Cheers ! 😊
I think that was the JJA TCX 171. The new JJA C4s are the absolute bomb! My TCX was an early attempt at a wide soft boot carver. These are near impossible to get though. But there are still four Exegi DoubleWides available for December delivery at carversconnection.com.
@DootDoot Flux XV is the stiffest, highest performance softboot carving binding I've ever tried, but they're not the most comfortable and I cant' ride them all day every day so I switch to Now O-Drives for more comfort with only slightly less performance.
That's my JJA TCX 171 15.5m radius, 294mm waist, Flux XV bindings at 30 and 15 degrees, custom cant and lift, 13mm risers under bindings, Driver X boots with custom stiffeners.
@@cherrycarves I have tried a double posi stance for a while but I don't like it much for freestyle. I'll try it again for a day and really focus on heelside carving. I had a similar stance to the one you recommended. 👌
@@EssenceOfTrance That's why everybody needs a dedicated carving board along with the freesytle board, the powder board, the rock board... Heelsides are very difficult with a duck stance. I need +12 minimum in my back foot to get smooth heelsides, any less than that I start to chatter. Toesides can be done with any stance.
@@cherrycarves I do have a Korua TF to carve with but it gets a bit cranky after an hour or 2 of riding. Will definitely try double posi again next trip.
That combo of sections of Wooley Bully and Snow Rodeo was one of my favourites during my time at Revelstoke. Your video shows the gradient, which is lost in my own POV captures. ruclips.net/video/mZFrd7D6VB0/видео.html Thanks for the memories. Alan
Yeah, such a great run! I'm gonna miss winter... Lifts are spinning for three more days though, my body is shot but I gotta get a few hundred more turns before it's all over. Hope to ride with you again next season Alan!

@@MoeOuan666 Yeah, the shoulder check move... So necessary
This is my life goal! Such a smooth carving video, great turns!
Thanks! Look for a "how to carve" video coming soon!
Sublime! 👍👍👍👍
Thanks man! That was a great run, just wish it had been sunny for the video
Beautifull backside carv. On the backside maybe one of the best.
Hi5
Thanks!
Nice riding man!
Thanks!

Too smooth!! May I ask the binding angle ?
+15/+30
@@cherrycarves wait, +15 on the front or the back ?
@@xintao0521 +15 rear +30 front. I'm goofy (and English) so I always read my stance left to right...
Nice riding! Who was filming on the camera?
Some dude with an insta360

Good job 👍 I like it 👏
What do you find the positives and negatives from the Flow's to the Now's? Obviously other than the strapping in procedure.

@@cherrycarves Thanks.
That custom board seems to be a pretty nice blade... what’s the waist width? What kind of bindings? Looks like a sick setup! 👌🏼
295mm waist, Flux XV bindings with custom cant and lift... Sick setup indeed, arguably the best board on the planet right now.
@@cherrycarves Supah Cherreh setup! 🤙🏼🤛🏼🍒
Smooth! 👌

Such an inspiration James! Loving it. What is your board setup?

Smooth! What binding angles do you use?
+12/+27 generally, up to +21/36 on narrower or stiffer boards with bigger sidecuts
Is this physics or magic?
@@skinny32 Maybe a little of both? Plus a lot of practice and the best equipment on the planet...
Those heelside carves are just beautiful. I can do toeside eurocarves pretty decently but my heelside carves are fucking terrible compared to them.
Look for a "how to carve" video coming soon!
@EssenceOfTrance try a forward forward stance, heelsides are much more difficult in a duck position. I suggest +12/+27.
