I believe this was the first time Kevin had a major singing solo, and it really rocked the Pentaholics' world. He does have a beautiful tenor voice, though not as strong as the others, understandably. Apparently Avi used his inherent teaching skills when they lived together to help Kevin train his voice to a performance level. This is such a moving song. Thanks for pulling out the details so we can appreciate it even more. My first intro to Babytonix was in 2012, "Little Drummer Boy." It's a simple but creative arrangement. I hope it's on your Christmas agenda.
This song just has “good bones”. It is simply one of the most beautiful reverent songs ever written. I never get tired of listening to this song no matter what time of year it is.
I really appreciate your detailed looks at how the arrangements do what they do. Nowadays in live performances Kevin, whose voice has grown and improved with time and work, adds quite a bit more ornamentation to his solo verse: runs, flips, an octave jump. The group (and arranger Ben Bram) have learned how to best use what was a kind of "secret weapon" early on, in that no one expects Kev to sing at all, much less in that high, pure falsetto.
You’re so much more than a Reactor (although your facial expressions show definite reaction), you’re a patient educator who shares your love for music while informing us in theory & composition. I appreciate that you are methodical in starting with a bit of the Sing Off beginnings (actually there are even earlier videos of The Trio in high school…), and watching them grow in the Avi years before diving into the Matt (current) era. I see lots of requests to review their very latest releases (which are a whole ‘nother level!), but I like the natural progression of how you are reviewing them currently. Their catalog is deep and wide, and I’d enjoy you getting to know and love Matt the way we have. I don’t compare him him to filling Avi’s shoes, rather he brought his own dang shoes and and we love him too. And might I just add, I couldn’t help but watch this episode whilst noting the Like button literally spinning upwards during the 14 minutes!🌟
Thanks so much for this comment and for the support! (And I plan on reacting to some of their vids as a trio too - would be interesting to see the standard). I do plan on getting round to all the Sing Off performances eventually 👍
You are very kind to offer shortcuts, for those who desire, but I never want to miss a word of your analysis. If only music was taught this way in school... you’re the best. Thank you. 🤗
Hauntingly beautiful. And, yes, Kevin gets to sing. 😊 You may want to watch "The Making of Evergreen", a bts of recording and arranging for their "Evergreen" album of 2021.
This was the first song I ever heard from Pentatonix. First heard it years ago and I still come back to it again and again. I don't even have to wait for Christmas, I could listen to it daily. Thank you so much for your great reactions. You never fail to bring something to my ears that I missed on my own. Peace ✌🙏🤗
As I watch you listen to the music, it's almost like you are trying to translate a foreign language. It's so cool! You hear notes and parts I struggle to hear. Thank you!
One of the things I like the most about your reactions and reviews is that you share with us your obvious extensive musical knowledge in a way that enhances my own appreciation of the music I am hearing. This superb PTX performance grabs me every time, but now I know a lot more about why it does so! Much appreciated.
Good morning Sir! I have to say, I've gained a better understanding of PTX through your analysis thus far and am enjoying this journey with you. So, thank you. I particularly love this song but Carol of the Bells will always be my favorite from the Avi days. Oh yes, the newer music will blow your socks off if time doesn't run out before Christmas. Happy listening!
Reading a lot of the comments people have expressed the same appreciation that I have for your reactions and for the same reasons. You sir are a joy to watch, on any video reaction (yes i have ventured out to some of your other reactions) but I do so enjoy your Pentatonix reactions. This has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs and PTX did NOT let me down. Love your reaction, love this song, love the video, love Pentatonix!
Really obsessed with your reactions; I have listened to these songs repeatedly and still your reactions expose new and interesting things as if I am listening for the first time -- the emphasis on "KNOW" is a prime example- Just Awesome - Thanks so much!
Thanks, as always, for your support! It's those little details that set certain arrangements/performers apart from others - and with these PTX arrangements, I can listen to them 10 times in a row and still be hearing new things on the 11th listen!
Your analysis is on point as always! Your ear is impressive! The speed you pick up each part is insane! Do you you have perfect pitch? That is always fun to see, but what I truly appreciate is how your are able to breakdown musical theory without being overly technical or verbose. You hit a perfect balance between being easy enough for non-musicians to understand/learn, and advanced enough to keep musicians engaged/entertained!
Thank you! It's always tricky trying to explain things in the manner you've described, so I'm happy to hear that it's coming across that way 🙏 Perfect pitch is a weird one as it's useful in different ways, and people define it differently. That said - no, I don't have perfect pitch, I wasn't born with it sadly😅You might call it relative pitch?
@@SirHairless thanks for responding! IMO perfect pitch has become such a novelty party trick. Too much hype around it. To me, relative pitch in a musician’s day to day can be every bit as useful! Keep up the amazing work! Your reactions are the highlight of my YT experience!!
I actually have a technical question about one newer PTX video that you have not yet reacted to, it's a mashup between Pure Imagination x Christmas Time is Here. The originals seem to be in very different time signatures, and I wonder what your technical take is on how they mashed these two songs together. Link: ruclips.net/video/h13Urh6RJEU/видео.htmlsi=gkXuxkWQYCGOL0_r
Thank you! I'm afraid I can't comment on their mashup just yet as I don't want to hear it before reacting to it, and I won't have time this year to react to i :( It has been recommended to me a lot though, so we will do it at some point!
Once again, an amazing reaction showing your impressive musical knowledge. Thanks for continuing to react to Pentatonix. Us Pentaholics really appreciate your reactions to our favorite band! I’m enjoying your technical skills and your musicality!
There is something so special about their ability, to tell the songs story, allowing us to listen with a new perspective, and hear & feel emotions, we may not have heard from the original artist 💖💖💖 Not only their voices, but their delivery is also their gift! *IMO, no other group, can build up a song, like Pentatonix* They are masters at pulling on our emotions!!! 💗💗💗 *They are individually so talented, however, when put together, it is truly magical* 💗💗💗 Thank you for such a thoughtful reaction 💗💗💗
Ah, this song is one of my all time favourites. Gorgeous to listen to, stunning, beautiful, brilliant…⭐️🎶⭐️🏆✨🔥♥️💐…I love everything about this song! Everything.
TY for your reactions and analysis to Pentatonix music. I always look forward to learning how their music is arranged and why it touches my soul. I look forward to many more music reactions for PTX. ❤
Pentatonix IS Christmas! I’ve always loved them but they, in particular, have ruled the Christmas charts for several years and continue to do so. (7 Christmas albums… crazy!) I look forward to watching you continue on their journey through the years. They just released a video for Oh Holy Night yesterday and it’s absolutely magical! We call PTX music “upgrades” and now they’re upgrading their own upgrades! Keep up all the great reactions and I’m already looking forward to next time… ❤
I have listened to this song over 1 million times but you brought out so much I really didn't 'hear'. Thank you so much for your analysis. I'm a big fan
I have followed Pentatonix ever since they won the Sing Off with their 'sick' arrangements and 'crazy awesome' harmonies. I never knew a capella could sound like that 😅 I knew five different sounds were being combined to produce such gorgeous music but I didn't know how they did it. I did see that it took a lot of work (the Singoff showed some behind the scenes footage). Thank you for the breakdown of parts of their singing... it helped me appreciate the insane amount of work they put in. If ever I get marooned on a desert island with only two choices of music artists, it would be Dimash and Pentatonix for me. Maybe if I get myself more educated, I might have classical music in my list. Dimash is definitely going to introduce me to such music via his involvement in 'Virtuosos'. Anyway I'm rambling 😂 great reaction video - I really like how you explain the way the different parts are woven together.
Thank you! Now that you have analyzed my two favorites (This and Oh Come, All Ye Faithful), I feel satisfied. Oddly, now, after listening to your analysis, I have a greater understanding why I listen to them the most. Hmmm. Thanks again!
Great reaction. It is so interesting to hear your analysis. They just dropped a video to O Holy Night yesterday that I'm sure you would have a field day pulling apart! And their Pure Imagination/Christmas Time is Here mashup from a few days before that.
Thanks! Both of those are recent and I'm not onto the Matt era just yet, so they won't get a slot in this year's Christmas reaction schedule for me unfortunately. But we'll get there eventually 🦾 Thanks for tuning in!
I'm so looking forward to you reacting to Kiss From A Rose and O Holy Night (2023) to hear your analysis. I feel like Pentatonix really leveled up their sound.
I am so thankful i found you . I have learned so much. I watch everything Pentatonics does . Mark Lowery wrote Mary Did You Know. He and David Phelps sang for many years with The Gaither Band . You would love Let Freedom Ring in concert after 9-11 . You must hear David Phelps in concert singing Ava Maria/ Oh Holy Night with only a trumpet and violin.Absolutely breathtaking. It moved me beyond tears . Totally different arrangement. Going back to Pentatonics a new video p breathtaking . Prayers For This World . Moving and touching . I have never seen Scott sing with so much emotion . Tears again . My husband of 52years went to Heaven on 4/14/22. Music moves me now more than ever . I watch you everyday to see if you have something new . My favorites , Pentatonics and David Phelps . God has blessed you musically like no other I have ever seen .I’ll be tuning in. Diane Walton
I loved your analysis - one of the few that made me appreciate this arrangement even more. I’ve heard it countless times (or so it seems), but *this* reaction made me feel almost the same wonder as the first couple times I listened.
Great reaction, Sir! You have quickly become one of my favorite reactors because of the detail with which you break down what we are listening to. Your analysis of PTX and Home Free songs is especially interesting to me. Now that you’ve done this version, it would be great to see your analysis of this same song done by Home Free. The two versions are completely different but equally impressive. Many of us enjoy both groups. Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much! My list is ever-growing and my Christmas schedule fully booked for this year already, but I'll definitely get to the Home Free version too 🎵
Like everyone who has commented, I’m really enjoying your analysis of what musical magic PTX is creating in each song!! Thank you again for all the effort- it must take so much time! I won’t ask you to do O Holy Night since you said you aren’t in the Matt era yet, but I am looking forward to when that day comes! I’d love for you to take on one of their “Evolution” videos, such the Evolution of Michael Jackson or their Daft Punk medley (Grammy winner). ❤💚
There's a cover that they do that highlight's Mitch so well for me. The Elvis song Can't Help Falling in Love original video. I know you'll enjoy very much. It turned me, a non Elvis lover, into someone with great love of this song, who now only listens to the PTX version. I would use it for my wedding if I wasn't already married. If you're in the mood for a fun holiday song I recommend You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch original video not the live version. Matt carries the lead. It's Jazzy and playful. AND they just released a video singing O' Holy Night. Gobsmacking! Tears were flowing. I can't tell you how much I enjoy and learn from your breaking down this music. I see and hear things that I didn't before. I heartfelt thank you for what you're doing here.
Thank you for the recommendation of Can't Help Falling In Love - I do love that song so can't wait to get round to it! As for the grinch, I won't have time to get round to that this year 😪But that's the beautiful thing about the future - it is always there for more musical discoveries 🥳 I'm glad you're enjoying!
It’s always a bonus when Kevin gets to sing, and even more of a treat when he gets to play his cello. Speaking of which, when you want a break from the holiday music, you may want to check out his solo effort for a cover of Down on his channel (Kevin Olusola). He’s such a talented guy, and not just in music. He graduated pre-med from Yale and speaks fluent Mandarin to boot. Loved your reaction, and thanks for the analysis. Peace …
I know by now the Christmas season is long over and it'll be many months before it rolls back around, but when it does, please, please, please do VOCTAVE's version of this song. The songwriter himself, Mark Lowry, sings the solo and he SLAYS it. He holds the climactic belt note so long I end up practically hyperventilating trying to breathe for him, lol! And VOCTAVE's background vocals have to be heard to be believed. They are transcendent! I can not make it through without crying, no matter how many times I've watched it. On that note, pun intended, anything by VOCTAVE is pretty much magical. They do a lot of acapella too. It's an ensemble, so a bit larger group than the ones you've been reacting to so far. No beatboxing, stylistically more choral. But they are beyond phenomenal!
Love your explanation of the technique they use in their harmonies. Very educational. One thing in a different area of the video, the videography itself! In the second half of the song, after they turn towards the light coming into the cave, Kirstie is often framed by the mouth of the cave, with the light creating a halo/aura around her that resembles the way Mary/the Madonna is often depicted in classic imagery.
This was my first experience of Pentatonix's wall of sound. Brought me to tears. Thank you for your reaction and explanations, I am really appreciative.
I don’t think I have ever heard any reactor pick and sing all the parts …you have a perfect pitch ear …absolutely amazing talent …wow… thank you for the beautiful breakdowns
Excellent reaction. It's always great to see this after many years. They were amazing then but their song writing now and vocal talent has grown exponentially.
PTX are masters at tight harmonies! I think this is one of my favorites because of the basic question: Mary, did you know? Another great tune by PTX is Hallelujah. These two songs just pierce my soul with their arrangements!
Thank you for yet another amazing analysis. I learn something new about them and what they do in each reaction - I really appreciate it and you! I know you only have so many reactions to go for the holiday season and PTX won’t be the subject of all of them, but I am hopeful you will be able to make it to some of the music they released this year so we can hear your thoughts on how they have evolved (or how they are the same). ❤ My vote is for O Holy Night or Pure Imagination/Christmas Time is Here from their most recent album if one can be squeezed in. ☺️
Helloo! Thanks, as always, for your support 🙏 Both of your votes I won't get round to this year 😭As much as I want to - but I'm not in the Matt era yet. Will I regret this decision to stick with the Avi era for now? Who knows....hopefully not 😅 But don't worry, I'll get round to the Matt era in the not-too-far future 🎶 As for the Christmas schedule, it's quickly coming towards its end. If my current plans don't change though, I will get 3-4 more PTX reactions in before Christmas 😃
@@SirHairless Nope, you’ll have no regrets, I can pretty much guarantee. ☺️ I do love the way you are making your way through their catalog in more of a chronological order, the way we did as long-time fans. I look forward to whatever comes next! Thank you for the reply. 💕
Interesting to hear it from someone breaking it down versus which harmony my ear just naturally picks up! I'd never realized I was hearing Mitch stronger than Kirstie on "Lamb" (@11:09) until you separated the harmonies.
I really hope you are active in the musical education sphere. You have such a natural gift for imparting musical knowledge. I didn't think i could love pentatonix more than i already did but your insight just adds so many more layers to the appreciation of their music. Thank you as always.
You obviously have a great deal of training as well as talent yourself to be able to provide such an in-depth and detailed analysis. You are very interesting to listen to. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.
Sir Hairless, you make watching "reaction" videos worthwhile. Thanks for breaking everything down so splendidly. You can always tell very quickly on other videos if the person doing the reaction has any musical knowledge or not. Thanks for sharing.
Great review I just wish someone would give Mitch some love for how long he holds that note at the end. He does the exact same thing at the end of The Prayer and it never gets mentioned.
Thanks! Credit where credit's due, you're right - and it's a high belt too which makes it more eye-opening 👏 It's not actually tooooo long by choral standards though, it's about 10 seconds. I think anything above 15 seconds becomes a bit more attention-grabbing
Loved this! I always listen for Kirsten's use of vibrato so it was lovely to see you call that out! The combination of the lyrics with the times they come in and on what note-- that's what I watch you for, that and your enthusiasm! I truly hope you are able to work in the music field (by no means am asking for personal info tho! I alone may overshare ;) )! The lack of resolution lyrically has always been so powerful to me, especially because the implication here can be, 'would that knowledge be enough to make up for what's to come?' Though I no longer associate with religion, it's still moving as an unknown. Thanks again for this!
Helloo, thanks for the comment 👍Haha whilst I won't give away any personal info, there have been time(s) in my life where I have worked in the music field - whether that be in the past or present. I agree with the power of the lyrics - whilst aware of Mary Did You Know, I'd never really paid it much attention, so I'm thankful that I've been exposed to it once more through PTX. I've gone back and listened to the original many times since
Thank you for your amazing reaction to Pentatonix! They are super talented & outstanding together and I've been also enjoying Avi's solo work👌I could hapilly spend hours and hours listening to your interesting explanations about music because they're very clear (even for a non expert in the area) and your accent is delightful (even - and especially - for a latinamerican). Besides, I loved the brief glimpse of your fingers in action on the keyboard during the last part of your explanation - it was "magnifique", thanks! :)
if you like this version of Mary Did You Know, you should definitely check out the one by Voctave. They are who the members of Pentatonix go to when they want a fuller sound :) They sang it with Mark Lowrey, who wrote the song...
Another great reaction and always learn something about new about how ptx do what they do. They have a 2 new songs out which I would love you to react to o holy night and a kiss from a rose 😊
Boss man.. ! I really dig your knowledge.. one of my favorite reaction/analysis.. . The perfect mix of both good genuine reaction and the perfect amount of analysis... great job sir!❤❤
One of their best Christmas songs ever and your analysis was fantastic. You Must do their Oh Holy Night released yesterday. It made me cry ( I cry a lot when PTX sings some songs) and you Must react to the live VEVO of their very recent Kiss From a Rose. It is epic.
Thank you!! Yes - both on my list, O Holy Night might come next year (unless I do it off-season), and Kiss From A Rose has been on my list for a while now 👍
Wonderful reaction, Sir! I must say, you give the most detailed analysis of their vocals of any reactor I've seen, yet you make it so easy to understand. I would love to see you react to their newly released video of O Holy Night.
Thank you, glad to hear it! I'm not in the Matt era yet and my Christmas schedule is booked up for this year :( The will power to not listen to their new O Holy Night!! But I'm sure it'll come in the future 🎶 Thanks for watching!
I loved learning more of this song through your ears and knowledge? Thank you Sir, another great holiday one is "Hallelujah," with over 730 million views.
I sure LOVE your reactions to PTX! Thank you! Your facial expressions are beautiful! They say to me you have such an appreciation for what they are doing! ❤️

Howdy Sir. You should add Voctave’s arrangement of Mary Did You Know to your reaction list. They do it with one of the writers, Mark Lowry. It’s a special performance and version of this song. Look forward to a reaction at some point… and hopefully much more Voctave as well.
why would we want to skip your commentary!?? It's fascinating to me, as a non-musically trained laymen, to know just how exceptional they are. Can't wait for the next one...The Prayer, perhaps? ;D
Love it when you exhibit the music and dissect the parts and who is singing what. That helps to understand the complexity of the music and how it is constructed. Also of interest would be what is everyday structure versus anything innovative. Thank you.
You explain things so well. I don't have anything specific for you to analyze next, but I'd say keep watching a lot of their old arrangements first, then after all of that, continue on to their stuff in post-Avi era.
@@SirHairless I honestly would generally not watch a reactor who only watches the old stuff. You somehow has manged to grab my attention enough for me to stick it out. (People can be very annoying about being Avi purists so reactors who only listen to that are usually not very good at listening and appreciering music for what it is and gets stuck on comparing things, which is a pet peeve of mine. You have proved that you're not gonna be one of those so I'm ok with you choosing to view them from a growth and change perspective.)
Thank you, I appreciate it @@hernameispekka_Rebecca. And I don't intend to watch every single performance with Avi before moving onto the Matt era - the initial plan was just to become well-acquainted with PTX's work and, as you said, try to roughly get an idea of their growth. I imagine the Matt era will come fairly soon to me with the requests coming in!
Please, Please, Please react to the new video release of their version of Oh Holy Night!!! It is Stunning!!! They all showed off their amazing singing and arrangement talents!❤ I love this version of Mary did you know!! It is so good! Very dynamic and beautiful! 🙏🏻 Love your analysis and reaction! 🙌🏻

Ah, this song is one of my all time favourites. Gorgeous to listen to, stunning, beautiful, brilliant…⭐️🎶⭐️🏆✨🔥♥️💐…I love everything about this song! Everything.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with and to our appreciation for thamazing sound that is Pentatonix!
🙏
You continue to amaze me, just like this wonderful group - always click on your reactions the minute I see they’ve dropped ❤🎉
Appreciate you!
I love this version with them.
Really loving your PTX analyses! They just dropped a new video for O Holy Night, and I think you would love it. It's truly breathtaking.
TY for your reactions and analysis to Pentatonix music. I always look forward to learning how their music is arranged and why it touches my soul. I look forward to many more music reactions for PTX. ❤
😊
Pentatonix IS Christmas! I’ve always loved them but they, in particular, have ruled the Christmas charts for several years and continue to do so. (7 Christmas albums… crazy!)
I look forward to watching you continue on their journey through the years. They just released a video for Oh Holy Night yesterday and it’s absolutely magical! We call PTX music “upgrades” and now they’re upgrading their own upgrades!
Keep up all the great reactions and I’m already looking forward to next time… ❤
🙏🙏🙏
I have listened to this song over 1 million times but you brought out so much I really didn't 'hear'. Thank you so much for your analysis. I'm a big fan
Thank you!
I have followed Pentatonix ever since they won the Sing Off with their 'sick' arrangements and 'crazy awesome' harmonies. I never knew a capella could sound like that 😅
I knew five different sounds were being combined to produce such gorgeous music but I didn't know how they did it.
Haha! Both of your choices are fairly new discoveries for me 🎶
@@SirHairless they just happened to be artists that brought newness to me... making me feel excited about music again
Now check out Home Free's version of Mary Did Yiu Know.
I enjoy your Pentatonix reactions. You are informative and entertaining. Thank you. Subscribed.
Thank you! And welcome :)
Jesus we need you more now than ever
I'm so looking forward to you reacting to Kiss From A Rose and O Holy Night (2023) to hear your analysis. I feel like Pentatonix really leveled up their sound.
Wonderful analysis again! So enjoying ur PTX reactions 🤘
🙏
Thank you💖
I have excitedly waited for this one. I love when they make one of their walls of sound.
😄 It's great, isn't it
Yes, yes! Sir hairless is handsome! Oh, you said "here"... Sorry, got carried away haha 😊
😅
I guess "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" by PTX would be a tiny tidbit for you, from a musical perspective ❤. Quite exacting (and with Avi)
I'm excited to get round to that soon!
🙏🙏🎶
I loved your analysis - one of the few that made me appreciate this arrangement even more. I’ve heard it countless times (or so it seems), but *this* reaction made me feel almost the same wonder as the first couple times I listened.
Thank you so much
Excellent! You will need to catch up with Home Free's version of this! Merry Christmas!
Very happy this made it into your Christmas schedule 😊 It's fascinating to hear your analysis. Excellent job of explaining.
😀 Thanks
Great reaction, Sir! You have quickly become one of my favorite reactors because of the detail with which you break down what we are listening to. Your analysis of PTX and Home Free songs is especially interesting to me. Now that you’ve done this version, it would be great to see your analysis of this same song done by Home Free. The two versions are completely different but equally impressive. Many of us enjoy both groups. Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much! My list is ever-growing and my Christmas schedule fully booked for this year already, but I'll definitely get to the Home Free version too 🎵
Or the Voctave version which features one of the song's authors as a soloist!!!
Thank you Kristi! Means a lot 😀And thanks for the appreciation of staying in the Avi era for now too, we'll get round to the Matt era eventually!
i appreciate reactors who explain things and i find that you are one of the best
Thanks!
As for the grinch, I won't have time to get round to that this year 😪But that's the beautiful thing about the future - it is always there for more musical discoveries 🥳
I'm glad you're enjoying!
Peace …
🙏🙏
@@SirHairless I'm looking forward to your enjoyment of Down. 🤯
Thank you for helping me see their brilliance! Please do "Oh Holy Night" by Pentatonix next - it's brand new and amazing!
Your description of PTX songs are very informing. I think you would really like their new original cover of O Holy Night. Just came out.
I’d love to see you react to PTX singing Hallelujah. So, so beautiful!
This is on my upcoming reactions!
I'm really enjoying your analysis of PTX videos. I'm hoping you react to their recently released version of O Holy Night. It's stunning!
Thanks for this comment - very cool!
Wow! Detailed analysis! This man knows his stuff.
🙌
This was my first experience of Pentatonix's wall of sound. Brought me to tears. Thank you for your reaction and explanations, I am really appreciative.
🙏🙏
After listening to a few of your videos, I can truly say that I really enjoy your reactions (at least your Pentatonix reactions).
Thanks!
I don’t think I have ever heard any reactor pick and sing all the parts …you have a perfect pitch ear …absolutely amazing talent …wow… thank you for the beautiful breakdowns
Thank you so much for your continued support, Joanne
Excellent reaction. It's always great to see this after many years. They were amazing then but their song writing now and vocal talent has grown exponentially.
PTX are masters at tight harmonies! I think this is one of my favorites because of the basic question: Mary, did you know? Another great tune by PTX is Hallelujah. These two songs just pierce my soul with their arrangements!
Woohoo!! Awoke to a Sir Hairless reaction 😊. It is indeed a happy start to my Saturday!!!
woohoo!
Who knows....hopefully not 😅 But don't worry, I'll get round to the Matt era in the not-too-far future 🎶
As for the Christmas schedule, it's quickly coming towards its end.
Dear Sir, your reactions are the best on RUclips! You pay respect to the performers as well as the music and harmony. Crazy good!❤️🇨🇦
Thank you so much
Interesting to hear it from someone breaking it down versus which harmony my ear just naturally picks up!
Thanks, as always! I wasn't in the musical education sphere, but maybe I am now through Sir Hairless?? 😅
I highly recommend you listen to Voctave's rendition of M,DYK? if you haven't already. It's also extraordinary!
One of my favorites.
Thank you for your analysis! The most complete I have ever heard.
Appreciate it 😀
You obviously have a great deal of training as well as talent yourself to be able to provide such an in-depth and detailed analysis.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed 👌
Haha thanks, as always!!
Love watching your micro expressions. Shows that you not only understand the music, you feel it too. 🥰 love it.
Thank you :D
if you like this version of Mary Did You Know, you should definitely check out the one by Voctave. They are who the members of Pentatonix go to when they want a fuller sound :) They sang it with Mark Lowrey, who wrote the song...
Fantastic reaction as always.
🙏
Love your reactions. Master class in structure!! Thank you...
☺
Fantastic reaction and analysis
Thanks!!
Cheers!
One of their best Christmas songs ever and your analysis was fantastic. You Must do their Oh Holy Night released yesterday. It made me cry ( I cry a lot when PTX sings some songs) and you Must react to the live VEVO of their very recent Kiss From a Rose. It is epic.
Thank you!! Yes - both on my list, O Holy Night might come next year (unless I do it off-season), and Kiss From A Rose has been on my list for a while now 👍
@@SirHairless Oh Holy Night is going to be bigger than big.
I'm looking forward to it!!@@debrawalkermeyer9109
I don't know if you realize how your face lit up when Mitch sang "I am" it was beautiful! 😊
Haha I couldn't help it!
Or Pure Imagination/Christmas Time mix, which just came out a couple weeks ago by Pentatonix.
They just dropped the official video to their rendition of Oh Holy Night... Absolutely exquisite!!
I sure LOVE your reactions to PTX! Thank you! Your facial expressions are beautiful! They say to me you have such an appreciation for what they are doing! ❤️
Thank you ☺
Howdy Sir. You should add Voctave’s arrangement of Mary Did You Know to your reaction list. They do it with one of the writers, Mark Lowry. It’s a special performance and version of this song. Look forward to a reaction at some point… and hopefully much more Voctave as well.
worth watching Mark Lowry perform this since he wrote it
why would we want to skip your commentary!?? It's fascinating to me, as a non-musically trained laymen, to know just how exceptional they are.
Can't wait for the next one...The Prayer, perhaps? ;D
Thank you!! The Prayer is on my list, but not in my Christmas schedule for this year
Love it when you exhibit the music and dissect the parts and who is singing what. That helps to understand the complexity of the music and how it is constructed. Also of interest would be what is everyday structure versus anything innovative. Thank you.
🙌
Scott started the song. my first time ever seeing them, beautiful!
Sorry, you mentioned Kevin and it threw me.
Haha yeah I just point out that Kevin is singing too@@billiemchone6683
I hear the music as you do but lack the education to explain it perfectly. Thank you. This group defies sound as we know it from humans, angels yes.
You explain things so well. I don't have anything specific for you to analyze next, but I'd say keep watching a lot of their old arrangements first, then after all of that, continue on to their stuff in post-Avi era.
Thanks, this is my plan! I'm getting many requests for performances with Matt in and it's getting harder and harder to stick to it😅
@@SirHairless I honestly would generally not watch a reactor who only watches the old stuff.
They all showed off their amazing singing and arrangement talents!❤
I love this version of Mary did you know!! It is so good! Very dynamic and beautiful! 🙏🏻
Love your analysis and reaction! 🙌🏻
Also… In the beginning of this groups singing venture Kevin didn’t think that he could sing. Avi convinced him and helped him realize that he has an awesome voice!! ❤
Hey! Thank you 😀
I can't for this year :( already have my Christmas reactions, and I'm not yet in the Matt era :( But we'll get there in the future 🎶
