    I just sent you a big thank you. Actually 15 bucks which amounts to about .0001% of the value you provide to me every single time that I pop in and learn something. You are not only clearly a master of what you do, but you are articulate, and you present fairly complex ideas in a very straightforward manner without ever patronizing. You are a born teacher. Thank you.

    I've been a long time Cubase user on PC. I switched to MAC just over a month ago as I got fed up with my PC updating etc. My aim was to run Cubase on MAC.
    However, because I was on MAC for first time, I could try out the Logic trial!
    I purchased Logic before the end of the trial and Cubase is now not on my MAC.
    Agreed, Logic is so much more intuitive. I can get things done quicker. It's also more fun to be creative as a musician. Did I say fun 😅
    Your videos are very helpful thanks.

    Great channel! I subscribed. This summer will be three years for me as a recording engineer. When I originally did the research, I concluded that what matters most is that you pick the DAW that is best for you. I was a performing/recording musician of many years turned music and vocal coach. My most serious voice students became artists of various styles. Some of my singers wanted the sound of the modern beatmakers for hip hop and r&b. Others wanted the natural sound of the piano for the pretty pop ballads. Others the guitar for blues, rock and country. The logic really does it all. Most recently I'm also doing soundtracks for TV and film with the help of the logic pro. For me and my artists, it was the best decision I could have made.

    Brilliant!!! I always wanted to be the guy who just uses protools... I started with Cakewalk 9, went all the way upto Sonar, then moved to Cubase SX, then years later moved to protools 8LE, but kept flipping back to Cubase, and then I tried Logic 8, I've been using it ever since. I think, am officially a Logic Pro guy!!! Thanks for making me accept that and be content with that decision.

    Sam I always dig your videos I would be stoked to see you do a in depth video on drum editing in Logic. I love Logic but it is difficult for me to edit live drums I have tried many times using all the tricks and it never seems to work quite right. I think it isn't so bad with a straight forward somewhat slower beat but I get all kinds of artifacts when it is a more complex beat and I primarily work on punk songs that are faster. I would really be into seeing how you go about this. Thanks for your videos I have learned a lot.

    Logic lover here too lol! I make my living using Logic. I've used Pro Tools, Cubase, and Studio One all regularly in the past. Logic is just what I find the best for me. The only thing I wish was different was that we could search for plugins! I pray for it every update but it never comes. I use Plug Search from Speakerfood but it would be nice to have it as a stock feature!

    I watch a lot of production and editing tutorials and the ones using other DAWS, I find their physical layouts awkward and confusing.
    Logic Pro is just so easy to get around in and the interface is simple and pleasant to work with.

    Got logic and Cubase. There a some things I’m really really missing in logic that Cubase does:
    - search for sends tracks (logic you have to go through the lists, uff)
    - select multiple mixer channels and tweak press a modifier key to SUSTAIN channel linkings temporarily (very handy)
    - control faders with two finger on a MacBooks track pad
    - bypass all of one (or more) channel‘s inserts or sends at once

    • @SamLoose
      @SamLoose  Год назад

      Search for plugins and sends? YES, YES, YES, a thousand times YES! You can bypass more than one plugin by clicking and holding on the top plugins on/off button in the mixer and dragging down. If you have more than one channel selected it will do it for all of them at once!

  • @danielsalasmusic
    @danielsalasmusic Год назад

    Great Sam! Another thing that would be amazing they add is adjusting the height of the faders, the numbers are very small and it gets worse if you have a small screen!

    • @SamLoose

      Agreed. It would be cool to be able to customise the mixer even further.

  • @willibtx

    I was a Pro Tools user for a long time before switching to Logic, and here are my main takeaways:
    Logic is easier to use, more intuitive, more complete, more well-integrated. Making aux sends / busses is much easier. Organizing tracks is easier. The layout of everything is more practical. I greatly prefer it.
    BUT. Logic is glitchy. I've had glitches appear which screw up my internal routing and take twenty minutes to fix. I've had glitches where audio from tracks just stops working and I have to duplicate the track to make it work again. I've had glitches with ARA where the audio from an instance of Melodyne comes out of the wrong track! These problems, when they happen, are so frustrating that it really makes me miss the stability of Pro Tools.

      That’s the dream right there! It’s at the point where I don’t really notice the GR meter anymore. I use the Logic stock compressor for specific purposes out of pure habit, so I kind of expect it to be on those channels, and my eyes just let it blend in.

    Hello, good video. I love Logic too! One nitpick though - "X" in "Logic Pro X" is pronounced "Ten" (like a number 10), not "Eks".

    • @SamLoose
      @SamLoose  Год назад

      It’s a great application. I think in the case of X or ten; to each their own. I think if it in the same way as I would Mac OSX, that would be an “X” instead of a “10”, but we’re all different 🙂 Thanks for watching!

      @@SamLoose Mac OS was never "Eks". In all official videos about OS X (WWDC videos is a main go-to, and more general public keynotes) "X" is pronounced as "Ten", as well when they (Apple employees, executives) talk about it on stage or in press. Same with Logic Pro X and Final Cut Pro X. I think your content great, and it will be even more professional with using correct pronunciation.
