  • Documentary of our Rainier cherry tree from April 12, 2015 - June 18, 2017. This tree is growing in our backyard. We are in zone 5B. Our garden is organic. We don't spray pesticide or use chemical fertilizers. We get our fertilizers from our compost pile. We also don't treat our lawn with any pesticides or weed spray because we grow lots of fruits and vegetables. This is the first year we harvested fruits from this tree.
Rainier is a cross between Bing and Van cherry tree. It was developed in 1952 by Harold Fogle at Washington State University. The tree was named after Mount Rainier. It blooms in early April and ready to harvest in early July.
