@@BZ1340 and this is why I’m leaning more towards the RAM 1500. I feel like every time I do a dollar to dollar comparison, I can get more from a RAM Big Horn than a Ford XLT or Lariat. The 4WD-Auto alone is a plus for the RAM.

Always odd why some packages must go together (2kw & 360-camera). Must be some cost-efficiency; I’ve yet to see a 2kw out on any dealer lot, at least here in Bc.
the one thing that Ford forgot to do, was to put a spare engine in the box. that way if the owner does not maintain their Ford properly they have a spare engine.

they deleted the heated steering wheel’s on all 2023 Ford F1 50s I know because I had ordered one and they sent me a change order and explained they cannot put heated steering wheels on any 2023 F1 50s so I’m currently buying a 2022 platinum with a heated steering wheel that has not arrived yet

Not happy with my 2022 F150 3.5L eco / it has a lot of vibration when idling. You can feel it on the seat , armrests, pedals. I’ve taken it 2x to dealer and all they say it’s normal to vibrate. Due to engine is a 3.5L. It’s bad!!!! I do not recommend this truck if you are looking for a smooth ride. I made a BIG mistake.
The "100A" package did not include the power equipment group which is what gives you the power locks, mirrors etc. Now Ford offers that as a standard package.
Did they do anything about the rusty cab corners and rocker panels that have plugged the F150 or they’d rather not so that we are forced to replace in eight years?
@@MacPhee_Ford incorrect, they may not rust but the aluminum corrodes and rots out just the same, if not worse. It’s just as much of a problem. I’m a painter at a body shop and see it all the time. It’s false advertising
But it's not just heated steering wheel. Unfortunately there are many options Ford is pulling out in order to pump these trucks out faster. It is hard to keep track of every little thing Ford is pulling out but yes heated steering wheel is an unfortunate one.
Ford still offers the 5.0L V8 in most of the trim levels! The only one it's not offered is the Limited trim which is the highest trim level and the EcoBoost engines fit the style more. Lots of engines to choose from!
Unfortunately the US requires side marker lights/reflectors to be on all vehicles. Most manufactures put them in headlights so there really is no avoiding the amber lenses in the headlight.
A lot of that crap that was removed most people won’t miss. Sat nav who uses that these days with Google maps being amazing. We have navigation in one car that never gets used.
You’re right. Some of these removals, customers won't mind being gone. Auto Start-Stop or the sat nav. Unfortunately there are some things like the heated steering wheel or massage seats that customers will miss on the higher end trucks.
2023 f150 got rid of alot of features. I heard no more heated mirrors on the platinum. no massaging seats. no blue cruise. and several other things. a 2023 platinum would be a bastard year imo
Unfortunately Ford is removing a lot of features in order to actually produce these trucks. Massage seats are also not in most mid-late 2022 models as well. They will be offering credits/incentives for each option that is removed though.

i know they got rid of it for 23 b/c of the chip shortage. buying a 23 premium f150 be the stupidest thing you can do. id honestly try to find a low mile used 21. unless you are set on a 23

The F-150 received an entirely new design for 2021. It is way different than a 2018 model. Of course there are things that Ford carried over from the previous generation F-150 but certainly a new design.
I hate all the new technology, computer screens and equipment that's so difficult to use. I love my 2015 F250 FX4, just regular gauges and so easy. Also I live in Canada and these trucks are selling way over 70,000 now. So crazy.
I have a 22 f 150 Tremor. I’ve had technology filled cars before. Like a bmw X5M. This truck is so easy to use and very intuitive. Plus there’s always something else to discover about the truck. It’s just amazing. The opposite would be the interface in the new Mazda which makes it hard to even manually tune the radio. But Fords made a truck that’s a option vs any advanced suv out there. If you’re willing to spend 30 minutes you can learn everything. If you’ve had a newer vehicle that’s been around since 2015 you’ll easily learn everything about the f150 without even going through the manual, unless you have the raptor or the tremor which has special off road modes. But seriously it’s very easy to use and the phone app makes it even better. Even a base VW has these features so if Ford wants to compete it’s essential that these features be added. My truck has autopilot and auto park. The nav is the easiest navigation I’ve ever used. The radio is very easy to use and so is the climate control. If you don’t want to learn all the features learn just learn how to use voice control and then you just have to tell the truck what to do. But like I said every car has most of these things now, it’s super easy to use. And once you learn you can operate almost every without having your eyes leave the road. Most features are operable from the steering wheel
Jim, you're totally right! Ford has really designed their vehicles to be the most intuitive and easy-to-use design they could! Just like any other vehicle, it will take a couple weeks to get super familiar with all of the features and things it can do.
I just don't understand why you can't buy a new truck without all the confusing technologies. Simple gauges and controls. I would love a new truck. Especially a F600 but I won't because they are way too confusing and hard to use.
Those are some ugly wheels on the all paint, non-chromed out F150. The 15-17 20's are the best looking non-chrome, all-paint panel wheels. No wonder Ford Racing offers them.

It is strange but you are right, most people order their trucks without the 2kW system. We don't see many trucks roll through here with it either.

Did they fix the trailer light module problem? Still can't get the matter resolved with my 2021 SXT 4x4.

Is the 5.0 more reliable for 2023? I know from 2018-2020 the v8 was trash. They changed the 5.0 in 2021.
The 5.0L has been quite a reliable engine from the past few years. It did have its oil consumption issues early on but that has since been resolved.
I will wait until 2024 for the F150 mid-cycle refresh, currently own a 2019 F150.
Is is possible to receive a bit of a refresh for 2024 as history has shown.
I love my ‘22 STX in Atlas Blue, the Rattler looks cool.

Nice . But I’ll stick to my 2010 STX ! All steel frame and the Ford V-8 .
The STX is a great trim level and certainly one of the most underrated as well. Great value truck for sure!

Cab can't rust, it's aluminum. All F-150's from 2015 till now are made with an aluminum body.

Colors are hideous, loss of the best packages makes the 2023 a real step back. The 2023 is not a good choice. Stay away from all eco-bust engines.
