    Great video. I’m not going to lie and say that I haven’t watched every one of them in order from the beginning of the series. I personally like the shorter videos as sometimes I don’t have the time to watch a 20-30 minute video. As for railroading or modeling questions, while the internet is a great source of information as is scouting out actual locations, never forget to ask some of your fellow viewers. A lot of us are not only modelers but we also work for the railroad or many industries served by rail. I’ve been a conductor for a major class 1 for almost 25 years and have had model trains since I was a kid.

    The nice thing about all those leftover sprues is you can cut them, paint and weather them then stick them in a gondola car as scrap going to or from a scrapyard.

    Great work on the layout! The new building looks great, although I personally think I will stay clear of that kit, as it looks like it might be a bit too much for me to put together 😂
    Just as a tip for operations, if you put magnets under the track where you often uncouple, then the couplers will automatically open so you don’t have to uncouple the cars manually.
    Also, I’m fine with ether long or short videos, if they are long, then we get a lot at once to look forward to, which is nice, but if they are short they are good for reviewing techniques for when your working on your own layout, so I don’t have much of a preference for length, it’s up to you as far as I’m aware, and after all, it’s your channel!

    Hello I'm learning more about your videos and I hope you continue to making more detailed chapters for me to learn about model railroading. I have a question that I noticed toward the end of the video.
    While you were backing up your hopper cars to the silos, you paused for a few seconds and you reached for the last hopper car and disconnected it from the rest of the pack manually. Would it have been easier to have a uncouplling track so all you have to do is to push a button to the track in question so it can uncouple the car and it would stay in place?
    Keep up the great work you're doing on your new project. I'm going back to continue watching more of your videos so I can learn more about the wonderful world of model railroading.

    I'm a little confused You're aggregate silos the build everything looks great The underground dump for each flow car but how many cars can you do at a time I would have thought you would have had a through track or a separate runaround through to the pit so the head of your train would come through or you would backup with say 10 cars it looks like your layout does one or maybe two just didn't get that I have a runaround on the end scale I'm building now with a co-op and my silo system I'll run the train through one end out the other which will take 20 cars will be able to dump and then sightings for empties or for to set full cars to be picked up later I don't know you tell me if I'm wrong or that's just how you wanted to have the layout

    • @TopRailroad
      @TopRailroad  4 месяца назад

      I can only do two cars at a time. You are completely right it should be on a much longer track to dump more at a time. I just wanted a small not so busy industry which is why I did it this way. Plus I’m restricted with a small area to work with. Although if I were to go back in time I would move it over a little more to fit maybe 1 more car
