Fair play for showing the intermediate cup of clean black oil. I think a lot of people don't realise that new oil goes black almost immediately. I've got ~4L litres of Ineo ECS waiting to go in, once my new oil filter arrives. My oil level was also kind of low, so I threw the other ~3\4 litres in for a few days. It should hopefully soak up some more crap before the change.

My Peugeot 307 HDI Turbo failed, the Garage told me to change the oil every 5000 miles (about 6000 km). ABout 18 months later, the second Turbo failed, even when I had been changing the oil every 5000 miles.

Thanx bro for the video , what is the kind of oil that you have used . I use usually Total Quartz Ineo ECS 5W-30.

      Hi Mohamad,
      You are welcome :)
I see you use quite a good oil, you're car definitely appreciates ;)
What is recommended for this car is Multigrade engine oil 5W30 to 10W40 conforming to ACEA A3 or API SH/SJ specification. Brands recommended are Total Quartz or Esso Ultra/Ultron. I use 10W40 with mine, nonetheless that mostly depends on how you drive and what environmental conditions are you exposing the car to. My car experience -5/+20 outdoor temperature range in a year.
Thanks for supporting the channel :)
      Cheers

    Hi mate,
Thanks once more for your instructive videos. Thanks to your video we can see clearly how dark and dirty the engine oil becomes. My car got 118,000 miles (about 188,800 kms). Good to know that it is okay to change the engine oil every 10,000kms although I do change mine every 5,000 miles (8,000kms) just in case. I got a Peugeot 307 1.4 Petrol from 2004 and still works very well.
Anyway, please keep on going with your interesting videos as they are extremely helpful for many many drives who own a Peugeot.
BTW, you got my LIKE once again!

      Thanks Jose,
I appreciate fantastic feedback! Great to know that you enjoy the channel :)
8,000 km is of course better - your car is definitely happy about that!
By the way, what oil do you use?
      Cheers my friend!

      Hi mate,
The engine oil I am currently using is CASTROL MAGNATEC 10w-40 (not very cheap, but I don't mind as long as it keeps my engine all right). I hope it is a good one. Anyway, if you think I should use a different one, please feel free to let me know. I'll follow your wise advice.
      Many thanks in advance,
      JOSE
PD. Looking forward to seeing more videos, mate!

Hi, when I change my oil I can smell a strong odour of petrol in my used oil. It also melted my latex gloves, which would suggest some petrol content in the oil. Is your's like that as well or do I have a leaking injector, etc.?

      Hi K,
I do not have such issue. Have you checked piston compression?
      Cheers

Thanks, compression test yet to be done with next sparks check. Just wondering where all that petrol comes from, not burning completly and leaking down the cylinders or a leaky injector/seal?

What about 30k km intervals recomended by peugeot. I recon after 20k km is extremely bad for engine to drive. 15k km is a sweet spot to change.

      Hi TLYD,
I guess you refer to intervals for new car (30k km). When the engine is new you can replace the oil less often. With age you need to get more frequent. I agree 10k-15k km is a sweet spot ;)
      Cheers mate

My 70k km car oil change at 11k (3 years driving) still not as dark as yours. Its more like your second 5 minute oil. I think the way you changed oil was wrong or your engine has problems.

Didnt change it yet, as i bought the car and it was already serviced, but i usually buy Fuchs oil for my old car, as its very cold here in winter i used 0W30.

    • @isitfixedyet891
      @isitfixedyet891  6 лет назад

With very low temperature it makes sense. Nonetheless I wonder if 5W30 wouldn't be cheaper and also sufficient. It depends on the degree of low temperature of course... Stay warm mate! :)
