- The daughter of Tory Carlon, the firefighter who was killed in a shooting at Station 81, graduated from high school Thursday wearing her father's firefighting jacket and hundreds of firefighters from across the state turned out in a show of support.

Wow, that has to be one of the biggest kicks in the ass anyone can take...to lose your Dad just TWO days before one of the most memorable events in your life. That really punched me in the gut!
I can’t imagine losing your dad two days before your high school graduation. I lost my dad two months before mine I was I was supposed to be valedictorian of my class. When my dad passed away, I basically just gave up on school. I didn’t turn in a lot of stuff for the last two months of my senior year. I didn’t do too well on my finals. I allowed just enough room for the person behind me to catch up and become valedictorian of our class that I secured junior year. Thankfully, that year high school decided to have two valedictorians and I was one of them.

I have suffered so much death in my family that I'm numb to it but even then I'm sad about how they lost such a good member of the community young lady just know a lot of people are here and we support you and our condolences go out to both you and your family
Losing one of your parents a few days before graduation and the end of your school life has to be the biggest slap in the the world can give you. Hope this girl is doing okay in 2024.. 😢😢

Yep! Firefighters/law enforcement are true brothers/sisters in arms! They come from all over to lend their support and help!
Even tho it's been 2 year's I'm just now seeing this an it's heartbreaking because my name is also Jocelyn. I was given this name because my dad's name is Joshua so a family friend came up with it an to think a girl with my same name lost her dad 2 days before her graduation is saddening. I graduated last year from high school I'm so blessed my daddy and my momma was on that field to cheer me on~💜✨

Yes, I'm tired of hearing this sadness. I think many of our leaders need first all to stop the violence talk and how they communicate to address problems through violence. This would like refocus more, not all buy likely many more to seek help instead of destroy and bully. I think the media should be talking more about how people are getting help and what help is available instead of all the hate news, to help refocus more for our kids on the positive at least a littel more. I give her and the whole firefighter family my condolences and may her father RIP

Now there's a waste of taxpayers dollars right there they better not be on duty and getting paid by taxpayers just to attend a graduation, that better not be the people taxes money or their will be a lawsuit we don't pay officers to go to graduation we pay them to protect our streets not one of their own
