Might I add that the bottom of the staff for the ice can only be found when your on the bottom of the map(gen1-3) and the middle part in the middle(gen3&4) and the last part can only be found anywhere next to the church
i dont really have three hands where i could hold the controller and play origins while playing and puasing and tryna understand this. for me origins is kinda hard.

Actually, each staff in each robot is Wind. You get Fire from the chest at generator 6, the plane, and the first boss guy. Ice you get from digging piles while it snows. And Lightning is hidden throughout the map in really really annoying places.
Have you created a video showing how to upgrade? If not, it is not very difficult, especially wind and lightning, because their "codes" never change, and fire is not that difficult either, it always ends in 4. Also, a little trick I learned, if you are a good enough player(or not doing solo), you can build and do most of the upgrade steps for Wind and lightning on round 5. Stay at spawn till round 5, then save a zombie and open all doors, then for wind, just wait for the robots, lightning, if you don't have at least 2k for the tank, you will have to wait a round.
i was SO close to getting all upgraded staffs in one game. i was doing the final step to upgrading the lightning staff (which is the last one i had to upgrade) and i was filling up the staff with souls and my power went out for 15 seconds.
Couple of questions about the fire staff: if the record isn't on the said crate or next to the church pew is there a spot it often appears as I really really struggle to find it, also I've only ever seen and shot down the plane a couple of times, other times i'm looking in the sky for so long i eventually get downed, does it only come on certain rounds or after you do something? Thanks.
In order to get the gem, you need to go through the element portal to get it, if you chicken out after going through one portal, you can go to another portal and get the gem

I always buy the mp40 and stick with that until I get to excavation site where I buy the gun under there. Then I get the ice staff and upgrade it
You can do it in solo but it takes a lot of time and patience.
