    Awesome review! I am looking to get one. Are you able to run the 702 Touch to DTAP through the power port? And if so, what cable covers this?

    • @MylesShank
      @MylesShank  4 года назад +1

      CDEFilms yes! I power mine using that D-tap to DC barrel connector.

      Myles Shank Awesome! You have me sold! Can you give me the link to the coiled cable you use so I know which one to get?

      @@MylesShank great review..
      Question....do you see a color shift with the "TOUCH"? It seems like it shifts towards a greenish skew.. I'm also hear this from other users.. Is this something you notice...or how accurate would you say......the colors are on the "TOUCH" monitor?

      Alexander Torro I’ve seen my old 702 lean a little green but the 702 Touch looks fine to me. However, like any professional monitor, they do need calibrating from time to time.

  • @Whoiswhitemayne

    is there anyway you can have the colors match exactly with the default monitor? I have the 701 lite i love the screen size (7inch) but color are completely off as well as the monitor seems like it displays a stop higher in exposure.

      I never trust the color on a SmallHD monitor. I have a Flanders DM240 when we need a truly color accurate monitor but the SmallHD monitors are nice when shooting ArriRaw or R3D as you can tweak color in post. I have a friend who calibrates his SmallHD monitors so that they’re about as good as SmallHD can be but yes, they’re never quite perfect.

    Would you still recommend 702 Touch since you posted this video or is there another monitor that you recommend?

    • @MylesShank
      @MylesShank  2 года назад +1

      Yes, I still use the 702 Touch on my steadicam but I’ve been using the 503 Ultrabright more on my camera.

    Can we output any of the screens regardless of the type of input?

    • @MylesShank
      @MylesShank  2 года назад +1

      That’s a good question. I’m not sure about the HDMI in/out but the SDI in/out is very reliable. Maybe someone else can answer this or check on B&H’s website Q & As

      @@MylesShank Thanks Myles, I'll try to do some documentation. Can't afford the touch for now so as long as it can output applied Lut and any effects then I'm good.

    Hi Myles ! Why did you not buy they CINE 7 for your RED control ? It worth the price instead of your 4.7 RED monitor..

    • @MylesShank
      @MylesShank  4 года назад

      Kwee the Cine7 is great but you can only access basic features (ie. ISO, FPS, compression) so you need to use a RED monitor for deeper menu items anyway. I realized that I’d almost always have the 4.7” attached for things like sensor calibration, looks and adjustments to the IPP2 metadata. Plus, three cables to use one monitor is pretty annoying when the camera body is already so small. The 702 Touch is a little dimmer than the Cine7 (I rarely use it above 60% unless I’m on Steadicam outdoors) but both monitors have the same tools available (I use false color and pinch-to-zoom daily) and both have a great image. So many great monitors to choose from but this one works well for me.

      @@MylesShank Ahhhh man thanks a lot ! I was interested in buying it to replace my 4.7 red monitor... you just save me a lot of money haha!

    • @MylesShank
      @MylesShank  4 года назад

      Kwee haha yeah, that little 4.7” comes in handy too when you want to keep a low-profile - like filming B-roll in a public area.
