For me, this song represent the end of an era and the beginning of another. The transition between melodic hardcore and emocore. The song start cool, faster etc like other same style songs, but, next to the end, make slow and the feeling fallen down.
Tim is living every punk rocker’s dream of a fronting a 21st century punk rock band. He’s gotten bigger than every single punk band and is has now been hosting Bad Religion and the Descendents and Rancid and Pennywise and Flogging Molly on national tours. Fat Wreck credited. Rise Against has the street cred and beat all limits
The answer is simple. Older songs was much harder, there were more screaming parts and Tim's voice is not so good anymore to reach that high screaming notes. How are U after 5 years? :D
@NEVADA1002 he aint a talented singer? He hits really high notes with ease, and does not hurt his voice. he also screams very powerfuly and also does not hurt his voice. His notes are powerful and on key, except maybe from when he's tired, which is normal. Also know that in punk rock, technique is not the point.the point is to scream the lyrics as if you sing for the last time. and thats what we love. even the best singer wouldnt give so much emotion like Tim.
@themightychickens have you even watched any of the performances from 2008 and up. he does get used to them and he plays the newer songs perfectly fine.
@nrichmond33 someone else who can't comprehend the thing's they read on youtube. i said he can shred chris' face off. he is a better guitar player. tim is the lead songwriter and musician. which is why rise against is still good even after chris isn't in the band. i like chris but i call him what he is.
Yeah, I knew it wasn't a custom cuz of the inlays, but I just meant if he wanted a guitar which looked like it, a custom without the pickguard looks pretty much the same.
@nrichmond33 I think Zach seems to move around alot more than chris (live that is), and chris was a better guitar player, (however i think both of them are very good guitarists). And by the way, was zach in the album the sufferer and the wittness cos he's in the good left undone music video.
fucking awesome!! however... they didnt play a single song off the unraveling, and only played 1 of RPM and that was blood red white and blue that was ok, they played blood to bleed and dancing for rain, i didnt expect them 2, they didnt even play heaven knows :( but tim looked at me :D when it was megga quiet i kept screamin, TIM I LOVE YOU! i was right at the front, fuckin well good i was well close 2 him n he kept lookin at me :D i was pissed off that they didnt paly heaven knows, it ws good
@rmarino4471 Oh would you shut up, Zach couldn't play half of their songs his first year in the band without somehow messing up in each song, and I still need to see him perform one single flawless solo live, as in getting all the notes correctly, not by jumping as far up the air as possible (which to me is quite pointless) I'd prefer Chris and Todd any day. And then his voice... I can't comprehend why Joe hasn't taken over the backup vocals.
Idk I you played this song but in some parts you have to change frets veery fast...and they played it even a bit faster here so I completely forgive Tim xddd
Listen to the fucking drums Brandon is working is ass off... Its definetely paying off. Besides like neil peart hes one of the best drummers in my opinion
@XxR1s3AgainstxX He's okay with the guitar, but his vocals are as bad as they can get. Having troubles understanding why Joe doesn't take over as backup vocalist.
agreed 100% nothing against zach but he's just not as good and neither is their new stuff. todd is for sure my fav guitar player they've had and rpm is my fav album. chris and dan wlenklinski (mr. precision) where the shiz as well. but yeah zach just seems to fuck up all the old stuff and the new stuff isn't as good. wonder why?
I love Tim's perfect mix and transitions of screaming and singing
For me, this song represent the end of an era and the beginning of another. The transition between melodic hardcore and emocore. The song start cool, faster etc like other same style songs, but, next to the end, make slow and the feeling fallen down.
Wtf !! This is the first time I realize Tim had an Undercut hair years before it was cool :)
I think it's a mohawk! :)
Paynovski actually it was a hairstyle in the early 1900's because it worked better with gas masks
They still play many songs from siren. They rarely play any from rpm, and it even more rare for them to play from the unraveling
there was a period of 7 months where they played nothing from The Unraveling, wtf
6 years late to the convo, but they played Alive and Well during the Black Market tour.pretty sweet.
one of the saddest songs i know, but ine of their best along with dead ringer
Definitely my fav song by them. Tim's singing is spot-on in this as well. excellent!!
tim has such a great voice :)
Can I start a religion and base it around tim?
Of course! After all, punk is MY religion! :-)
@@Seabee156 it’s a bad religion

omg what a voice lol awesome like the studio version^^
well if he's smiling u do realize that the song may remind him of his friend.
MISS U IN ROCK IN RIO !!!!
231 persons are going to Heaven, because they've heard this song =D!
@NEVADA1002 The reason he is such a success is he has SO, much passion and devotion to what he sings and it reflects in his music...
brandon barnes is amazing
God tier
i dont understand why they dont play songs from their "older" albums like rps or siren song of the counter culture. this was good old stuff.
The answer is simple. Older songs was much harder, there were more screaming parts and Tim's voice is not so good anymore to reach that high screaming notes. How are U after 5 years? :D
Surprised Tim still has a voice lol
True true, he's actually so damn lucky not having to get through any operations, not getting vocal nodules etc
He was still in his 20s here. He's in his 40s now. Time goes so fast.
pinches vatos es realmente mejor
ver sus videos en vivo
son geniales!!!
This is fucking amazing!
sweet
*especially at 2:49
sorry for the double post
@knighty53 no chris recording s&w with them, zach was in the video because they filmed the video right after they got him in 2007
High Quality they said. It will be fun they said.
@NEVADA1002 he aint a talented singer? He hits really high notes with ease, and does not hurt his voice. he also screams very powerfuly and also does not hurt his voice. hahaha exactly what I was thinking.
Rise against used to be so much better back in the day
0:50 to 0:53 man zach's a mad man :P
They sound great. This sounds exactly like the studio version, RA sure kicks ass.
Mom: EVAN!
Me: What mom?
Mom: TURN THAT SHIT UP!
@themightychickens have you even watched any of the performances from 2008 and up. he does get used to them and he plays the newer songs perfectly fine.
@themightychickens love your videos, make up 90% of my ipod.
i know they played this song and alive & well of all things at groezrock this year.
@TheGoodLeftUndone27 The song was written about a friend of his that committed suicide :(
My god .. the gooooood days (come before the fall of a band)
Zach's Motorhead guitar!!!
@knighty53 Zach had nothing to do with The Sufferer and the Witness.
2 people arent here anymore
@themightychickens it does, i want to mold it with my hands like a piece of clay.
on the forums its called horse hair :) I got the same haircut and its just awesome :D
@AlmostaFlipinSkater Iknow that, even hell does not exist none of them
@nrichmond33 someone else who can't comprehend the thing's they read on youtube. i said he can shred chris' face off. he is a better guitar player. tim is the lead songwriter and musician. which is why rise against is still good even after chris isn't in the band. i like chris but i call him what he is.
I want a gibson :D i only have a ibanez....a sg would be great. The les pauls are very expensive...
Yeah, I knew it wasn't a custom cuz of the inlays, but I just meant if he wanted a guitar which looked like it, a custom without the pickguard looks pretty much the same.
2:50 FUCKYEAH
@XxR1s3AgainstxX it's cause it is the studio version it's not live
They don't even play many songs from Siren Song ;) Mostly from ATR sadly...
what do you have to lose from believing?
@NEVADA1002 That's bullshit. His voice is awesome in his own way.
not there anymore
@nrichmond33 no he wasnt. zach was in gwar for 2 or 3 years. he could shred chris' face off. all the way off. not just part of the way.
zach totally stomped to the beat at 2:16
@nrichmond33 I think Zach seems to move around alot more than chris (live that is), and chris was a better guitar player, (however i think both of them are very good guitarists). And by the way, was zach in the album the sufferer and the wittness cos he's in the good left undone music video.
I know right?
@themightychickens yeah, but hes got an awesomely shaped head.
todd was in my opinion the best.i still donno why chris him left.
Get a Les Paul Custom in white and take the black pickguard off, that's what I'm gonna do, similar. And I want his new silverburst Les Paul.
Bahahahahaha xD
fucking awesome!! however... they didnt play a single song off the unraveling, and only played 1 of RPM and that was blood red white and blue that was ok, they played blood to bleed and dancing for rain, i didnt expect them 2, they didnt even play heaven knows :( but tim looked at me :D when it was megga quiet i kept screamin, TIM I LOVE YOU! i was right at the front, fuckin well good i was well close 2 him n he kept lookin at me :D i was pissed off that they didnt paly heaven knows, it ws good
What's that Brandon with a Gretsh kit??
@AmonOfTheSahelijos Creepy... ó.ó
Haha yay he didnt drop his mic this time
@the401killa1 so he stole your shirt?
hahahahahah pause at 1:10 he looks like wtf hahaha
Rise Against is one of the few bands that sounds good live. i hate bands that have good songs on album but when they go live they're just piss poor
This is obviously way more than just a song
they played 1000 good intentions in '09 in boston, but other than that nothing
@rmarino4471 Oh would you shut up, Zach couldn't play half of their songs his first year in the band without somehow messing up in each song, and I still need to see him perform one single flawless solo live, as in getting all the notes correctly, not by jumping as far up the air as possible (which to me is quite pointless)
I'd prefer Chris and Todd any day.
And then his voice... I can't comprehend why Joe hasn't taken over the backup vocals.
@petered2g
Heaven doesn't exist
actually , hes playing a les paul supreme
You didnt know the Rev.
your mom... is so fucking cool XD
Anyone else notice one of the guitarists played the wrong chords before the 2nd chorus? 1:35-1:41 ish lol. I'm guessing Tim since he's singing.
Idk I you played this song but in some parts you have to change frets veery fast...and they played it even a bit faster here so I completely forgive Tim xddd
It's not really played that much quicker than the record...
Do you really care? Shut up and enjoy the music!
crowd not too god
agreed 100% nothing against zach but he's just not as good and neither is their new stuff. todd is for sure my fav guitar player they've had and rpm is my fav album. chris and dan wlenklinski (mr. precision) where the shiz as well. but yeah zach just seems to fuck up all the old stuff and the new stuff isn't as good. wonder why?
@jsh020 Yes???
He's still mediocre.
It's not christian :D
Worst sound Eva lol
i heard it was like nazi..
but maybe someones bullshitting me lol
@NEVADA1002 Not talented? I bet you could do better, screaming and singing for days and days, through months and months
