When you can listen to music knowing who it is, that’s success. Not money, not Grammys, Recognition. Appreciation. Their sound has power & covers a lot of genre grounds
How is their sound just so much better than everyone else...? The only other band with the same talent in a similar genre, in my opinion, is Strung Out. That’s it! It’s a duopoly of mellifluous art.
Well you should look at punknews' review of RPM when it first came out "Hardcore without metal. Punk without pop. Emotion without the friggin' whining. While the band is clearly coming from a hardcore and punk background, it genuinely doesn't sound like anything I've heard. Many people have tried to blend punk and hardcore like this, but mostly we end up with the weakest bits of hardcore, and the weakest bits of punk, kind of mashed together. Instead, on "Revolutions..." we get an impressive sense of melody with a really visceral hardcore edge."

I had only heard Swing life away until this chick turned me onto this song on a date back in 05.I was like; Who the fuck is this? I became a lifelong fan right there!
I've been a fan for years and didn't know this video existed. Now that I've run across it, I'll be doing my part to get it back to those number of views. LOL
It blows my mind that they never were able to recreate the sound of this album. It’s just so sonically amazing. It’s so fast and hard and just fucking great Maybe it was band member changes or they crumbled to major label pressure to make the next records sound softer,more polished and more marketable Fans know the benchmark was RPM. sadly it was all downhill from this record.

Rise Against’s RPM and Strung Out’s Exile in Oblivion were two very important albums to me throughout my late teen years. I still love them both. 🤘🏻
