I listened to this song everyday for 15 months in Iraq. It was the perfect way to get to work. Its a shame they arenothing like this anymore. Oh well. Appreciate what they made.
I don't know if you have kept up with them recently, but i have to say their newest album "Wolves" that dropped a month or so ago is actually very good and refreshing compared to the last few releases, you should check it out if you haven't already!

When I saw them live years ago, it was an outdoor concert and it was soooo hot outside. When they started playing this song, it started sprinkling. Best memory ever.
Yea, I completely agree. It's not just the music (even though its amazing). In my opinion the lyrics are the best part of the song. Tim McIlrath is a poetic genius.
What gets me is the way he melds emotion that blurs the lines between some deeper meaning and something like love. Youre never really sure and I love it

I think that I can understand better the first albums because I have more empathy with the younger band, but we will see when I get older hehe

I just don't get how can someone dislike this? Like, the only logical thing is that they just saw this and just decided to listen to it, and it wasn't the genre they wanted. I doubt it's someone that listens to this band or this kind of music. I mean, seriously! This band and this song is amazing! i like the old stuff and new stuff the same i saw them live back in july and they mostly played newer songs, but they played this song and it started to rain. it was so epic

A: They aren't the usual comercialised band. They "go against the establishment" in a different way by promoting real messages through their songs. B: Genre is defined by what it sounds like..not if a band is commercialised at all or not.
