Interesting to hear the dynamics and evolution of the band between the EP, being released by a smaller label on the first LP and going to Geffen Records on the second LP.
Transistor Revolt is actually a really good name for a punk band. Sure they couldn't imagine where would they arrive with their music when they recorded this!
@@AlmostaFlipinSkater yeah you might be right, but what band does not dream of selling out arenas? Are you saying Rise Against did not believe they would be successful? If that is the truth, then so be it. All I am trying to say is this demo kicks ass.
@@HRHPrinceSiciliaFilms Being unable to sell out arenas does not equate to failure of success. Of course I think Rise Against thought they would be successful, successful to play music for a living. None of Rise Against's idols (Bad Religion, NOFX etc) can sell out arenas, but they're all also very wealthy and millionaires from music. Other bands like Anti-Flag are also successful without being millionaires. They're successful because they get to play music for a living and not have a "real" job. Joe Principe and Mr. Precision were already successful because they made a living playing in 88 Fingers Louie before that band broke up and before they formed Rise Against. I don't think Rise Against ever thought they'd have 5 consecutive albums on the Billboard top 10, let alone 2 albums at #3 and 1 album at #2.

Mr. Snrub I have a feeling they knew exactly where they were going with such a kickass demo
@@HRHPrinceSiciliaFilms Straight to Fat Wreck Chords. I doubt they ever thought they would be a mainstream band selling out arenas.

@@AlmostaFlipinSkater Neither did Nirvana, but we all know mainstream went Nirvana.

Keep the [blue] punk flag flying high
Thank you so much.
I had this demo, my brother listened to it nonstop so I picked up an affinity for transistor revolt.
Do you still have it? You should upload the full demo in high quality, or document the contents of the CD sleeve and stuff
@@gamigem It was a burned CD demo. My brother owned it, you can ask him. He played with the band.
