@@BodyPiercingTattooing Every video, and you very welcome
We have one ppa piercer in our state, and I don't think we even have a actual piercer locally. We have someone travel in a couple times a month and they mostly do tattoos. Shit sucks. I can't give up my job and benefits and move hours away. I've tried some "apprenticeshiping" and that's generous of a term for a few months and clearly they were artists and not business oriented. Also fairly unsafe. One artist had his 12 year old kid take out the trash and ended up with a needle stick.
I feel you. When I first started looking for an apprenticeship the closest professional piercer was in Chicago and they weren't in a least bit interested in training me. I think the best they offered was a dubbed copy of some how to videos and a weekend watching. Everything else was on the West Coast.
When I did find someone it was almost by pure luck and wasn't the best situation but was the best for that time. No one had even considered many of the piercing standards that we have today.
Yeah, I have to ask, why in the hell was a needle in the trash to begin with? It should have been put in a bio-hazard container not the trash.
Don't give up, keep looking and hopefully something will come around that is worth your time and will get you where you need to be.
Des Moines is in the firing line with a high risk of severe weather. Stay safe!!! 🌪️⛈️
Thank you, I will.
I just got offered an apprenticeship , I’ve been piercings years from home . But I use tapers and do everything the professional way now ! They want $2,000 for the apprenticeship and I think it’s unpaid for a year but I can still pierce from home at least . Do you think that’s good ? I also think they have a non compete thing too where I can’t go to another shop .
Also after I get all my hours will they help me get licensed ?
It rally depends on how good your mentor is and I would get everything in writing. Personally I feel the method of checking out each piercing is a better option.
For you to pierce, you will have to have a license if it is regulated in your state.
