They did - Wicked is out in theatres, Part 2 is coming next year. If you don’t wanna wait that long and you wanna know what was up with the wicked witch of the east before the house was dropped on her, I recommend watching the wicked musical on RUclips. It also explains why the tornado brought Dorothy to Oz in the first place
Of course they all think Dorothy is at the very least "plain" looking. That's why she and her friends get that fabulous makeover before seeing the Wizard🤦♀️
Funny. I watched this movie so many times I knew the dead witches legs were going off to the right, not left. Then noticed the whole screen is reversed.
I think it's bc the director, Victor Fleming thought judy Garland was ugly. For some insane reason, he thought Judy Garland was fat. He put her on a strict diet that involved cigarettes. Judy Garland died at the age of 47, due to throat Cancer. Or some type of cancer caused by cigarettes. So victor fleming actually murdered Judy Garland.
This is incorrect. Judy died of a barbituate overdose. Her mother and management already had her on amphetamines and barbituates before Oz. Really, her abusive stage mother killed her.
@patrickmcgavin2245 It was NOT the director who called Judy ugly and put her through that hell. It was Louis B Mayer (CEO and founder of MGM) and her mom who are responsible.
Lmfao 😂😂😂 I've never thought about it that way. i always thought it was funny when the Wicked Witch is looking for the shoes and Glenda just dimes out Dorothy....like damn girl snitching her out like that 😂😂😂
I always thought of it more as a question of character. Good witches are always beautiful because they're good natured. Bad witches are ugly because they're bad natured.
hahah I never noticed that!! It’s on theme with forcing Dorothy to wear the slippers that put her in the Wicked Witches hit list, making her travel for days to meet a fake Wizard, add murder ontop of manslaughter to her new life of crime, and then say she could have just tapped her feet at any point to go home.
I think since Dorothy is a stranger to their land, Glinda is not sure if their rules of determining a witch apply to her; "I'm a little muddled." She obviously hasn't seen a dog or someone dressed like Dorothy.

@@alwayzatiger1 Look into Harry Potter fanfiction. You’ll start to realise that Dumbledore is quite a bad person. It’s all about how it’s portrayed. Without subjective assertions that he was oh so amazing it becomes very clear he is jot
The look on Dorothy's face when she realized she killed someone is hilarious XD
she didnt even get a chance to process the trauma of accidentally killing someone with her house cause this old lady keeps asking stupid questions
@@jaqui1401 She didn't kill anyone. The house just fell at the witch and killed her, the same would've happened if Dorothy wasn't inside.
@@jaqui1401"Yes yes, you just killed someone and all, but let me tell you that you're mid" 💀
@@jaqui1401lmao😂
“Only bad witches are ugly” does not mean “all bad witches are ugly.” Dorothy might be a non-ugly bad witch. If she thought Dorothy was ugly, she would not need to ask: she would know she was bad. Ergo, we know that Glinda does not think Dorothy is ugly.
Also, Glinda never says that she is “good.” It’s a trick 😅
Aha! The only other comment I have seen where someone mentions Glinda doesn’t call herself “good!” I scrolled a long time lol.
Lmao I sat here listened to the whole thing and the commentary at the end took me out haha
Glinda always was a passive aggressive snob lol
I mean, it would make sense, especially since we know what she was like years before she became the Good Witch
Glinda also said the munchkins are asking like ay yo shawty what’s good? Like my friend over there said he think you cute. 😅
Pretty sure he said she’d be cute in the dark and
All the years I’ve watched this I never thought about that 😄
Honestly, that's very Glinda of her
Now that wicked is out all these “look at this” videos are out like we all didn’t notice
OMG. "Only bad witches are ugly. Good wishes are beautiful. What are YOU? " You're right ! I think Glinda just gave Dorothy a dig. lol
You’re not ugly, but you are kinda basic tho
Not Glinda calling Dorothy "Mid" in probably the most ridiculously long way possible.
The Shade The Shade The Shade of it all 😂
Yo bro you definitely on one 😂😂😂 that was funny af
If only bad witches are ugly, then Glinda must be some bad witch
While I understand the joke, ugly is a word of entendre. Ugly could mean the personality you notice Dorothy got the old part right
It’s so startling because in Wicked, Glinda’s personality is really sort of “ugly” and nasty lol. She’s shallow and pleasing and vain.
I love how everyone misses that Glenda was making a joke and sassing Dorothy for her statement that she thought all witches were old and ugly.
Right. And the munchkins giggle out of embarrassment because Dorothy to them seems like an ignorant clown
Lmao someone mentioned this to me the other day, and I was like she was shady asf she even asked if toto was the witch😂😂😂😂😂😂
Glinda is so passive aggressive
Because saying “only bad witches are ugly” does not correlate to ALL bad witches are ugly, just all good witches are beautiful.
She said " you are too ugly to not be a witch. Tell me if that is true."😂😂
Hey yo I just realized that she did call her ugly in a polite way😂😂😂
I think she called her mid😂
@@LoverQueen-m1k Glinda was like “Bless Your Heart!”
She actually called her pretty. She said only bad witches are ugly, but not that ALL bad witches are ugly. Implying bad witches can be pretty too. It just means that there are no ugly good witches. If she were ugly, she wouldn’t need to ask since it would automatically mean she was a bad witch. But since she needed to ask, it means she’s pretty enough to possibly be a good witch.
She said only bad witches are ugly, not only SOME bad witches are ugly, you’re reaching too hard and looking foolish in the process. Bad witches = ugly, good witches = beautiful. THE END. Don’t know why people think this is freshmen philosophy.
It hit me at the end and I can't stop laughing 😂 she really said "how do you think you look rn?" 😂😂😂
I think the entire point of the question she asked was what she answered herself. Only bad witches are ugly. Its a simple meaning really. But i also think it plays a second meaning in finding the beauty in yourself and your family. I advise all of you to listen to the audiobook or read the original youl get the point😊
Glinda shady ASF she could’ve told Dorothy to click her heels in the BEGINNING !The wicked witch just wanted to avenge her sister ! Also Glinda knew the OZ wasn’t real 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
Galinda is the true villain of the story, she told dorothy to take the yellow brick road knowing damn well there's an express train 😂
I never thought about that before, but you’re right! Although…maybe all ugly witches are bad, but not all bad witches are ugly.
Those REALLY angry ones are green, or purple
But doesn’t Glinda say “only Bad witches are ugly” ?
@@Chels7052maleficent was fine af. Maybe “ugly” is subjective. Because maleficent was gorgeous, maybe because her badness and green skin might cause ppl to say she was ugly
No, not really she’s saying ugly witches are bad (only the bad ones can be ugly), and pretty witches can really go either way. So she’s actually calling her pretty lol (she’d automatically know she was bad if she thought she was ugly) 😂
They just left the lady under the house, no one helped her at all. Just jacked her shoes😂😂😂😂
She said "Only bad witches are ugly," not "only ugly people are bad witches."
*SHE CAME DOWN IN A BUBBLE BRO!!!!!!*
You're gonna look at me and tell me I'm wrong?!
Glenda - "Let me ask this . . . do you have any flying monkeys at home? No? What about henchmen?"
I wasn't ready for the end. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
He’s watching this film very hard if he caught that. Lol 😂
THATS THE BIGGEST PLOT TWIST IN THIS MOVIE!❤
I've seen this movie so many times, and I've never thought of the point you just brought up. It makes no sense... unless Glinda is just a mean girl, which I guess she kind of is, if Wicked is canon.
I've seen this movie so many times BUT I never caught this!! Thanks for this!!
They should make a whole ass movie about the wicked witch of the west before Dorothy squishes her with the house
Glenda was The Wicked of them ALLL 😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂
She didn't call her either ugly or pretty dummy! Besides she wasn't asking... the munchies wanted her to ask Dorothy! 🤦
Exactly!
Good witches are always beautiful, but Bad witches can be both
Took her to the library! Classic shade hunty!!
That was the actual voice of the actress who played Glinda like her every day voice
Judy died from an overdose of sleeping pills I've watched alot of documentaries the last few weeks about her 😂
@liljojo2590 I know I made a mistake. I double checked after I commented, to see if I was right. I found out I was wrong.
She did say only bad witches are ugly, she didnt say all bad witches are ugly
Exactly!! That's why Glinda must think Dorothy is pretty, if she's unsure whether Dorothy is a good or bad witch
Glinda is a savage
hahah I never noticed that!! It’s on theme with forcing Dorothy to wear the slippers that put her in the Wicked Witches hit list, making her travel for days to meet a fake Wizard, add murder ontop of manslaughter to her new life of crime, and then say she could have just tapped her feet at any point to go home.
Haha!! This is the most hilarious backhanded compliment/insult I've ever heard! 😂
I never noticed that 😂😂😂😂
I think since Dorothy is a stranger to their land, Glinda is not sure if their rules of determining a witch apply to her; "I'm a little muddled." She obviously hasn't seen a dog or someone dressed like Dorothy.
Glenda is the true villain. Making her do all this work when all she had to do was click her heels.
