Except it's a real (CGI) lion they show in wicked. Not the creepy man in a lion costume, like in the 1939 movie. That lion costume freaks me out, because it's the pelt of an actual lion.
@@joeybaseball7352dear it was 1939! If that scares you... wait until you find out, what else was happening during the time, and before! I'll give you a hint... Ellis Island, Eugenics and more
I think the reason Fiero didn't fall asleep with Elphabas poppies was cos her magic only worked on those happy to go along with the status quo. Fiero is going along with the status quo but inwardly isn't happy about it.
all the nods to the plot found in the costumes and hair are delightful, and show how much love and care has been put into making this adaptation. (also, ‘get stuffed’ is such funny foreshadowing) another detail I’ve seen people mention: in the library wheel dancing scene, when Fiero is upside down, his hair looks very blond and straw like (the actor was wearing a wig for that scene, so the styling was definitely intentional)
I think the symbolism of the colors is interesting when Elphaba and Glinda go to Oz and sing one short day. We see how everybody and everything in Oz is mainly green, symbolizing how Elphaba is finally being accepted by a society and isnt an outcast. However we also see slivers of pink on the Ozians' clothes symbolizing how they are ultimately susceptible to the image of "Glinda the Good" and the Wizard's propaganda. They ultimately would rather maintain the status quo of Glinda rather than accept Elphaba's challenge to the Wizard's regime.
In the musical someone from the angry mob makes a rumor, I hear pure water can melt her!! Fieyro says what?! In disbelief. People will believe anything and then runs away from Glinda during thier engagement party.
The shoes will not be turning Ruby in part Two cause they are owned by Warner Brothers, the Shoes will stay Silver and we know this cause Dorothy is wearing Silver Shoes and not Ruby Shoes in the trailers, and in the first scene of the film when you see them walking back to the Emerald City. If your going to give info get it correct. No Ruby Slippers or Shoes will be the magical shoes cause in both wicked the musical and the book they are Silver Shoes not Ruby.
Well, WB DID give a LOT of rights from their IP for this movie that hey did NOT allow them to use when the musical first premiered. Namely, the leitmotifs from the Wizard of Oz and most importantly THE BLACK HAT which the musical was NOT allowed to use all those years ago
Another small piece of information is That Kristen Chenoweth and Ariana were both in Hairspray Live a few years ago so love that they are both in this movie together too
Well, there are people who have allergies to water. They can still drink it fine, and bathe normally. They just have to strategize bathing and keep the time they are exposed to water to less than a handful of minutes.
Nessarose's red and white dress is more like Stephanie Mills Dorothy dress from the original Broadway production of The Wiz. The designer has been associated with The Wiz musical history since he was 16 according to an interview he had recently.
Actually according to the book. The poppies don’t affect the Tin Man and Scarecrow because they’re not made of flesh. The Tin Man wasn’t affected by the poppies but my guess is the reason he got rusted by the snow is because after all ice is frozen water and when it landed on him it melted and therefore it rusted him
Nessarose the last word of her name is rose the shoes in the beginning of the movie when we see her as a baby she is wearing red slippers and Nessa the word Nessa N-E-S-S-A Put East together wicked witch of the East (there's no T) 😮
I wish they had gotten someone better to play the wozard than jeff goldblum. They shouldve gotten someone like Robin Williams. Jim Carrey would've been a much better Wizard. Obviously it should've been played by Robin Williams. But hes dead. But they could've done better than Goldblum.
The lion cub they save is definitely the cowardly lion as Elphaba says to the Cub while it's drinking water. "I'm sorry, i didn't mean to scare you"

1:45 In the lyrics for Dancing Through Life there’s a line where Fiero sings “Life is Painless, for the Brainless”.
Also the lyrics: "Life is fraughtless, when you're *thoughtless"*
@@vicentehizon6202”painless for the brainless” is a direct reference to Elphaba’s spell in No Good Deed “Let him feel no pain”
6:37 When the projection of the wizard is supposedly reading from the Grimmerie all he is saying over and over again is O-Ma-Ha (Omaha).

in addition to everything said here, i believe that the cub the prince took grows up to be the cowardly lioin, just a hunch

Also during Wiz-O-Mania, when the wizard is “reading the Grimmerie,” he’s just saying, “Omaha.”
Wow so many clues! Cant wait for part 2! 😮
Welcome back, Jan!
Thank you!
I can’t wait for wicked part 2

Enjoy these Wicked Part 2 clues and some of the best easter eggs I noticed!
I loved your perspective! gave much more flavour to the movie
The professor who replaces Dr Dillamond is named Nikadik after General Lord Nikadik from the L. Frank Baum books
Also when the vase breaks of the poppies in doctor dillmans class the bucket Elphba put the flowers in is the tin man’s oil can 😮😮😮
Wonder who started the rumor the wicked witch would melt if she got wet???
In the musical someone from the angry mob makes a rumor, I hear pure water can melt her!! Fieyro says what?! In disbelief. People will believe anything and then runs away from Glinda during thier engagement party.
@elisabethmoulton5095 thank you! I wasn't sure if that one woman did it. That teacher that befriended her.

Where's your neck, bro?
In the original books, the slippers are silver, they just made them ruby in the original movie as they felt they popped more with the color film.
Well, WB DID give a LOT of rights from their IP for this movie that hey did NOT allow them to use when the musical first premiered. Namely, the leitmotifs from the Wizard of Oz and most importantly THE BLACK HAT which the musical was NOT allowed to use all those years ago
You missed the Wizard saying “Omaha” when he was pretending to read the Grimery… as in Omaha NE
I was cackling, like sir save that for the motorcycles! Even though I knew it was for the town
Ok but is no one gonna talk about the Mom in the beginning with that guy and he look exactly like the Wizard like did anyone notice that?
@7:28
Yes
Another small piece of information is That Kristen Chenoweth and Ariana were both in Hairspray Live a few years ago so love that they are both in this movie together too
They are the original Glinda and elphaba from the musical wicked
If someone is vulnerable to water, how do they clean themselves if they can't take baths or showers?
Elpheba bathes in body oil.
Well, there are people who have allergies to water. They can still drink it fine, and bathe normally. They just have to strategize bathing and keep the time they are exposed to water to less than a handful of minutes.
In the original book wicked, she uses oils.
If you saw the Broadway version, she actually just went in a trap door when door three threw water on her, but it could be different in the movie

Actually the Tin Man indirectly becomes effected by the poppies when Glinda makes it snow.

It's always amusing to hear how many times "Iconic" will be said in these vids. Such fun!
Or instead of looking for that stuff, you could read the synopsis of Wicked
SPOILER!!!! For wicked pt 2
Prince= scarecrow. Cub= cowardly lion. Boq= tin man Nessa rose= the witch that the house fell on.

Scarecrow
I feel like the lion cub ends up being the cowardly lion.
He does.
He is
He does and reasonwhy he's cowardly is because of his past😢
The silver shoes are the ruby red slippers

When Elphba see the statue of the wizard in the wizard and I she says one someone will be celebrating about me and it’s her death
The sweater vest looks like this Sweater in Target.

Madame morible is a victim of misogyny; she is the real wizard of oz

So the wicked witch of the west never took showers?!!!!
