    Very cool video!!! It looks like white tickle tails were the ticket

      They always seem like the ticket to me. But I don’t get much different than white often. They last days, though.

      Yep. When life gives you smallies, you make smallie tacos. Ha, ha!

    Awsome video

      Thanks. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Video is my main hobby, fishing is actually taking more priority these days, but I tend to feel the need to make a video no matter what sort of fishing I’m doing.

    What do you look for when your searching for walleye in sakawea this time of year like points shallow points rocky or…?

    • @rippinglipsadventures
      @rippinglipsadventures  7 месяцев назад +1

      Normally, work shallow, rocky points and humps and warmer water temps compared to other spots. This year has been anything except normal, however. I feel like I’m relearning finding walleye at all anymore. The usually cold spring has sent the fish scattered all over from 2 feet to 40 feet. I’ve found nice walleye in 2 feet with cranks and 40 feet with jigs. It’s a little odd this year.

    Also how do you get livescope on a helix 9 can you put LS on any helix. Or how does that work

    • @rippinglipsadventures

      Mega Live transducers work on Helix 9 side imaging units. I bought the Ice Shuttle kit by Humminbird and just leave it in the shuttle all year long. It does work on G3N and G4N units I am pretty sure. Again, as long as they have side imaging capabilities. It might even be possible to use units smaller than the Helix 9, too. I’m not entirely sure about that, though.

    How do you like the new Kalin’s landing net? Have you been happy with the handle length? Any issues with getting hooks caught in the net?

    • @rippinglipsadventures
      @rippinglipsadventures  7 месяцев назад

      It’s ok. I have had hooks caught on it or even random objects in the boat snag it very easily.
      The biggest draw for me has been how light it is and that it can be set to any length and jammed in between the side walls of my boat on the back deck for worry-free transport and storage.
      If you go to Brett Bloemendaal’s video ruclips.net/video/Y-DIw0sm3i0/видео.htmlsi=GmubYGyVnZ9ZKxWP and see at the 15:00 mark his got snagged hard on the windshield. That sort of thing happens a lot. I’ve never had that happen before in my lifetime with my other nets. There have been times on my boat I had to really work to get it untangled from my live pole or some random object like a rod holder. Again, that never happened to me in the past.
      Hooks aren’t a big deal, but they have definitely gotten stuck.
      I’m also on my second net already and have seen both Brett’s and my own handles break. Kalin’s did send me another net without question other than showing them pictures of the foam crack.
      The other thing I don’t really like is that twine loop at the handle as it will get stuck on things, too.
      All that said, it works if you can avoid those snags in the boat. It’s light. Adjustability is infinite, which is what I wanted for storage.

      @@69RT3X9 My pleasure. Really. It's a blast to have videography and fishing combined as my two passion hobbies. Anytime you feel like something is burning a hole in your question pocket, shoot it my way and I'll give you the lowdown from my perspective. Thanks for watching!

      You are exactly right. I’ve been meaning to find a file, but then I typically lose my jigs too soon to need to worry about sharpening hooks. Ha, ha!

      I may have one posted next Wednesday. I haven’t gotten a regular schedule at this point. Working on catching zander the moment. But it’s not going so well for zander and everything else has come in the boat instead. Ha!
