Translation
BG 4.13: The four categories of occupations were created by Me according to people’s qualities and activities. Although I am the Creator of this system, know Me to be the Non-doer and Eternal.
Commentary
The Vedas classify people into four categories of occupations, not according to their birth, but according to their natures. Such varieties of occupations exist in every society. Even in communist nations where equality is the overriding principle, the diversity in human beings cannot be smothered. There are the philosophers who are the communist party think-tanks, there are the military men who protect the country, there are the farmers who engage in agriculture, and there are the factory workers.
The Vedic philosophy explains this variety in a more scientific manner. It states that the material energy is constituted of three guṇas (modes): sattva guṇa (mode of goodness), rajo guṇa (mode of passion), and tamo guṇa (mode of ignorance). The Brahmins are those who have a preponderance of the mode of goodness. They are predisposed toward teaching and worship. The Kshatriyas are those who have a preponderance of the mode of passion mixed with a smaller amount of the mode of goodness. They are inclined toward administration and management. The Vaishyas are those who possess the mode of passion mixed with some mode of ignorance. Accordingly, they form the business and agricultural class. Then there are the Shudras, who are predominated by the mode of ignorance. They form the working class. This classification was neither meant to be according to birth, nor was it unchangeable. Shree Krishna explains in this verse that the classification of the Varṇāśhram system was according to people’s qualities and activities.
Although God is the creator of the scheme of the world, yet he is the non-doer. This is similar to the rain. Just as rain water falls equally on the forest, yet from some seeds huge banyan trees sprout, from other seeds beautiful flowers bloom, and from some thorny bushes emerge. The rain, which is impartial, is not answerable for this difference. In the same way, God provides the souls with the energy to act, but they are free in determining what they wish to do with it; God is not responsible for their actions.

I am an OC from Telangana...first they came up with caste , reservation and next with state division from Andhra and now nothing changed. I have studied my self with out any reservation got admit in normal pvt engineering college and secured 25 lakhs of software job and in the same way my sc, st, bc friends got scholarship, fund, freebies in every year from 12th grade to Mtech but still now they were unable to get a basic job and they are making hundreds of applications for government jobs and even for office clerk. Everyone has to develop on their own. And the most saddest thing is all of my sc, bc friends fathers, mothers are also government job holders.
Reservation harms quality of human outcome and it should be banned immediately then only everyone will study hard and live a quality life. Give free education, free health care, good roads, good transportation and good rule of law thats what government has to do. where is the quality of education and good schools in India from rural areas and good muncipality, hospitals?
Because they become lenient that they have reservations and eventually get freebees ,, while general caste knows they have no help so there is no choice other than working hard ,,

Check this out. There are 7500 mbbs seats for SC students. A total of 1.5 lakh SC students compete for it. Because they all are SC,reservation has no role here. If you both have brains,you can understand nothing other than hard work will fetch them a seat where more than 20 fight for a seat. And years SC topper has scored 716/720 which speaks loud and clear what kind of competition is going on among themselves.

Otherwise no matter how much reservations, success won’t be achieved by those individuals who got in using reservations. By success I would mean happiness. All human pursuits are for happiness and if one can achieve that then they should consider themselves successful. With respect to country and world only meritocracy can be good for collective.
If India can’t recognize talent , it’s India’s loss. There are many countries who are welcoming to talent in universities and job sector. Inventions will be low, brain drain high if this is how we create our future Indian professionals. You cannot blame or stop the smartest, they just live doing their work and India is too busy counting votes to give them opportunities

Instead of reservation based on caste system, a reservation system based on economy status of family should be introduced, such that it covers all the people who are in need of money, belong to OC or OBC or SC or ST, any caste or religion might be.

Reservations based on caste has got more to do with representation rather than economic benefits. Issue is caste is sadly a part of Indian ethos, as Palki said when people chose to marry outside their own caste , the issue rears its ugly heads. Ask how many Brahmin would marry into a Shudra family knowingly. We still have a long way to go.
@@statickk14 thats one side to look at it, but the overall picture is just status. No parents would like to see their kid get married to a lower societal status person regardless of their caste. A brahmin would definitely marry a person of outer caste if that person and their parents are rich and have high status, seen this a lot.
Even lower caste person who is rich or has high status like if they are a doctor or engineer or something like that would not agree to marry another lower caste person with lower status, they would treat them ill as well and would marry an upper caste person or a similarly rich person with rich family.
But on the pedestal like the media or political stage, people only want to talk in a biased way and not address the real problem which is division of wealthy and the poor. The poor are the majority part of india hence more voters in this category, so they will always be fooled into supporting one party using the caste system strategy, and this actually keeps people reminding of this system even when they are trying to forget it , hence they unconsciously still abide by it today.

There are few poor students in the class. Teacher decided to pay more attention to them. Now the teacher is paying so much attention that good students are lacking knowledge and leaning to become poor students. Women, disability, Ecomical reservation are quite palpable but does caste really matters? God knows when the principal would intervene 😢
All reserved categories students are allowed to compete with general category seats in all competitions exams, but GC aren't allowed to get the vacant seats of categories, even after cut off of different categories

I understand the need for affirmative actions and reservation.. but the way it's being carried out is ridiculous.. if two persons applying for a job in bureaucracy one belonging to so called upper caste and other belonging to so called lower one, when both score same in exams and interviews then the priority should be given to the lower one.. but when you give a person who scored 40/100 priority against a person who scored 95/100 then it becomes aburd..

75 years of indiscriminate caste-based reservations have only ended up creating a "creamy layer" within certain castes, who deprive the truly needy and deserving amongst themselves the benefits of the reservation system. There are scores of cases of even IAS / IPS officers having benefited from this quota system, and their kids too continue to benefit from it, depriving the truly backward among their caste / communities from benefiting from the quota system. In fact, there's a Govt study which shows that just four such caste corner over 75% of benefits of quota system in education and jobs in the State of Tamil Nadu. The stats would be similar in many other States of India. The primary purpose of the reservation system was supposed to correct the historical wrongs done to certain castes which were deliberately kept backward by so-called Upper Castes. But, indiscriminate reservations won't uplift such castes, as the beneficiaries attract resentment from not just the UC / GC (General Category) but also those within their caste-community who are being deprived of the benefits. Reservations should be extended to only those who are economically backward, regardless of caste / creed, and there should be a reasonable cap on extending it to future generations within the beneficiaries (to prevent kids of IAS / IPS etc continuing to seek benefits based on their caste). Also, I believe that free of cost education should be provided to everyone who's deemed 'backward' but no one should get any reservations in jobs. Let everyone compete for jobs on merit alone. Only then will those who benefit from the reservations feel motivated to excel in academics and become really competent like GC candidates. And only when everyone competes as equals will those who benefit from reservations earn the respect of everyone, including GC folks. After all, the ultimate goal of reservations is not economic progress but social justice.

Why should the bramin brain alone work, before British came to India, the brahmins claimed themselves high by side-kicking kings by then. They were the reason for the denial of education to other castes. Any human who is given a proper education will study well and their brain does work.

It is a strange country that has a history of punishing the one who serve it the most, here are a few examples of such targeted groups
1. Middle class (no useful welfare and all tax)
2. General caste (no privilege and all the blame)
3. Men (targeted by the state itself yet the villain)
Unfortunately I happen to qualify and have been witness to effects of all three, the only thing left to do now is to serve a country that respects intelligence and hardwork.

Caste Based Reservation is a stupid and irrelevant tool that does more harm than any benefit.
In Europe and the US , racial discrimination is way more prevalent than caste discrimination in India.
And still they have never entertained any stupidity like giving Reservation.
Today most of the Top CEOs of US Companies are actually from General Category including Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella, Shantanu Narayanan, Parag Agrawal, Srikant Datar to name a few.
Whereas in India we are languishing terribly in Technology and Innovation.
None of the IITs are in Top 100 institutes given all of them have 60% Quota Pass people.

Caste should be abolished at any cost. It’s the time for income based reservations. Caste should be removed from documents and also from the names like China did since 1950. In the present day China there is only 56 tribes anyone can marry anyone. I am not from India. Actually, before this video I thought there were only 5 castes in India from the beginning. In my culture there are divisions between rich families descended from famous or high rank people like royalty. They are given automatic admission to the best schools and high paying jobs. It is hereditary like the caste system. You can only enter these ranks if you are born with an exceptional genius or are very beautiful. There is a caste system here but not mentioned explicitly. Yes! It should end here AND India but won't. It would bring upheaval with special people losing something. !Also, I am so glad I found this channel!! Yes, the caste system must end. There are some very important reasons. First of all due to caste reservation kids more talented than others don't get seats whereas less talented ones do. Let's take an example. Let's say that for a job a general caste person needs 90% in the exam whereas an ST caste person only needs 65% so, if a general kid gets 85% and an ST kid gets 67%, the ST kid would be selected and the General kid not, despite the general kid having more capabilities and India can't grow with smart people having to clean roads and dumb people getting their degrees for free. This also leads to greater number of suicides as the general think that it was discrimination to him and the ST kid can't fit in due to lack of previous class knowledge. I think reservation should can at 35%(total) and there should be reservations only till 8th class. Just tell me is there any reason why you wanna force making a dumb kid into a doctor by giving reservation in NEET whereas a smarter one is struggling to get the education!

Dear Palkiji, I have been writing about this problem and our population explosion for quite sometime with no success - May be you can take following note and start discussing it -
India has two mega and complex issue Population growth and Reservation - if you look at it closely they both are linked to each other just like poverty and illiteracy. Population growth is exponential among un-educated class and if you notice SC, ST, OBC caste people have highest population growth.
Now what is the solution -
PART - 1 - Policy - Government Policy "One family - One Child Reservation - One Time only" in education and in employment and
PART - 2 - Policy Implementation - this is most complex and there is one and only one way to implement it and but we cannot go wrong so NO ONE, political or even common-man / women, could exploit the system.
I'll briefly elaborate the PART-2 because I am not in a politician but a technologist - So there is only one way to PART - 2 implementation of policy - Time for Aadhar2.0 - collect caste, religion and other demographic data. Collect every data required to implement the policy. Using aadhar2.0 control the reservation to "one-family-one-child-one-time only reservation" in education and in employment.
Now if we remove the comfort we remove the lack of responsibility among poor class to produce more children - that solves the population problem.
If a family controls population they can invest in the child's education or thru reservation child get education which leads to educated society.
Now thru employment the child is employed too but cannot exploit the employment by switching jobs or same person applying for multiple jobs which is why you see big gap in OBC employment.
Also above policy creates enough room for other caste (Brahmins, kshatriyas, Vaishyas, etc) to get education and employment.
I can go on to write on every technical details of implementation of this and any other policy but this is not the platform - hope you understand.
Finally India has policy issues but major issue is implementation of policy.
Darwinism - Struggle for existence, Survival of Reserved candidates, Rest community mass extinction. Over the period Reserved candidates only survive. Indian Reservation is Based on Charles Darwin Science theory. Increase Reservation to 100%, make others to extinct call it as Egalitarian / Caste less society.
