    Great video! Something else I noticed was that the snake in the hand of the first statue was real, where the second statue's snake was made out of stone. Could the dried viscera belong to the snake the first statue? If so, perhaps it was not just some dead normal snake, but the offspring of a great snake. I wonder then, if the great snake you kill could be the father, protecting the body of its dead child. This would also explain why one had whiskers/fur and the other didn't. One is male and the other one is female. And if the snake in the cave is female, it would probably mate with the only other great snake in the region; thus creating the baby snake that was killed and put on the alter! This would mean that the mother snake is in the cave for a reason, hiding for safety and protecting the heart of her murdered child! Woah!!

    • @justhaidars
      @justhaidars 5 лет назад +33

      also, if you didn't finish the deathblow to papa snake, he will send you to the cave. hinting that he sends you as a snack to his wife/mate/kid/whatever the smaller snake is.
      Another one. After you get fresh viscera, the snake in the cave is still alive.. which actually kinda confirm that these are 2 different snakes.

    I think the “snake shortcut” is interesting because the snake in the valley eats you and transports you to the cave of the younger serpent. The connection from the cave to the Ashina Depths is also interesting because it’s how you get to Mibu Village and eventually to the fountainhead palace. If you consider the theme of marriage in the lore, the snake skip, the path to Mibu, and the snake eyes boss placement, I wonder what else this leads to?

    So i have a little theory that i wanted to share. So i think that there aren't actually 2 snakes. I think that there is only 1 Serpent that have 2 heads, one on each end of it's body. Some arguments
    1: After you stab its eye and look on it while you are in the cave you can see that its running away backwards. ( and i don t think "normal" snake would do that")
    2 You never see the end of its boddy
    4 After you plunge attack its head its body is laying on the mountain but after a while it dissaperd so i suspect that the "other Half of Snake has pulled it to itself.
    ( it's not some super serious theory just a random stuff that i have come up with while playing the game over and over again)

    • @fenrir2608
      @fenrir2608 5 лет назад +4

      Same. On my first playthrough I notice there's 2 snakes cause one had a bloody eye and the other was still alive in the cave after you kill the bloody eye one. But then on my 3rd playthrough after encountering it the first time and stabbing the eye I look back and saw that it always move backward as if something is pulling it. Maybe it's just coincidence that it moves like that but it would be cool for it to be a 2 headed snake at each end

    • @WhiskeyTango76s
      @WhiskeyTango76s 5 лет назад +1

      It's true, it did leave in an odd way, that's something that stuck out to me the most because I have quite a bit of experience handling the largest of the constrictors(Reticulated Python) but at the same time it's a very large snake and the terrain that it was in makes sense for it to leave the way it did. In normal circumstances a snake would leave the way you're expecting but due to their anatomy it would've been harder for it to have left that way and much harder for them to animate it since this is a game as more of the snake would have to be exposed and it would require more environment interaction as it it would probably have to move alongside and up the mountain/cliffs. It's also likely that we're only seeing a fraction of the Snake's size, what you could consider just it's neck(I can't describe what I consider to be a neck or a tail, normally, for me atleast, the tail is considered to be everyrhing that's after these 2 little appendages next to their ass/reproductive bits that look like claws that have been left over since becoming what they are today, they use these as a type of foreplay by basically tickling their mate) and if so then that was a perfectly normal retreat. To me, the neck ends around a quarter or maybe half of the way to it's stomach which is probably a bad example since I'm not using any images to show what's what and where.

    one thing that I keep finding odd is how Sekiro, despite being shown on multiple occasions to be very religious (probably not out of piety, but rather convention) he nonchalantly murders a supposed divine entity he very likely knows of (being from Ashina). Perhaps he is only devout to Buddha and sees the serpent as a false god?

    • @SeafoamBoi
      @SeafoamBoi 5 лет назад +1

      Well a snake is a snake. Its mostly out to eat him so it's clear that he doesn't have any revence towards it.
      Sekiro being a buddhist doesnt mean he sees it as a false god. Gods in buddhisim are simply different lifeforms that require enlightement nonetheless, same as other beings. If a god was to be his enemy it would be his enemy.

      @@SmoughTown In one of the sake conversations with Emma she says that she ones had a difficult patient that didn't talk that much, and she asked Sekiro if he knew that kind of person. So that's why I think it might be the sculptor or Sekiro. But as you already said, It's kinda unbelievable that it is Sekiro.

    I don’t think people are clueless that the great snake is actually more than one. Someone had to put the dried viscera on the altar, and they probably noticed another snake slithering about the canyon.it seems more likely that they simply regard all the great serpents as gods.

    In the story of Yamata No Orochi. Japanese people would sacrifice there daughters 1 by 1 to please this great 8 headed dragon named Orochi. Maybe this is his 1st form. Snakes are regarded as the 1st stage of a dragon after all.

    I wonder if the wedding ritual works as a way for the brides to be transported to the poisonous pools to the second shrine wear they are to be fed to the smaller snake or die in the shrine next to it, it would explain why you get sent their if the big snake swsllows you and why we see skeletons and the snake eyes lady past the shrine.

    Guys, doesn't the serpent herb memo imply that the snake eyes women went throught that marriage ritual, their locations, to me, also suggests so. Also I'd suggest that the snake is double headead, as in being eaten in the sunken valley plunge spits u out at the cave entrance bellow, e.g. it may be that at what would be the tail end of the snake, another head resides there instead.

      I have mixed feelings about there being two great serpents
      In one hand, it made sense that the serpent still exist after we killed it
      But on the other hand, it's no longer feel special (to me at least) that there were two great serpent gods. It just like the serpents were just normal animal that happens to be gigantic

    So the dried viscera in the ruin means there was 3rd serpent as well which died long ago before story took place and he was replaced by the great serpent we killed so it's like a cycle isn't? But the question is how do these big snakes breed like isn't this problem if both young serpent and older serpent are from same gender wont they get extinct?

    Another option is that the snake eyes are the children of the snake, which means the Okami tribe are descendants of dragons that inhabited this area for years. Perhaps this is related to how Kuro received his heritage.

    Something interesting noticed. Outside of The first shrine before the older serpent attacks the bridge there are feathers on the ground on one side of it.
    There are also feathers around inside the shrine
    These feathers only seem to be seen one other place and that’s on Owl. Not sure what that connection may be but it seems owl has gotten around lol.

    the serpent in the cave DOES in fact have whiskers or hair. it has the same amount as the other serpent, meaning that it is NOT younger. here's proof: ruclips.net/video/TzrqCUtlVB8/видео.html
    if you look closely or pause the video, you can see the hair.
    they are still probably different snakes though, but they are probably just as old as each other.

    Yeah no. Benzaiten is very different from the sunken valley gods. Benzaiten the Buddhist goddess isn’t snake related, but she is in Shintoism.
    Whereas the sunken valley statues are of Bodhisattvas.
    Also I wouldn’t say the gun fort shrine snake is being cradled, it’s clearly being held at the neck and dead.
    My theory is that this Bodhisattva symbolise the monks from Mt. Kongo suppressing the locals who worship Shinto gods.
