- CBS Mornings lead national correspondent David Begnaud explores the importance of compassion with a visit to Davis, California. In that town is a gathering place known as the compassion bench. David Breaux often sat there and dedicated his life to studying and talking about compassion. This spring, Breaux's life ended violently - less than 50 yards from that bench. Begnaud shows how every random act of violence can change the lives not only of the victims and their loved ones, but of an entire community, and how the people of Davis are carrying on Breaux's legacy with compassion.

He deserves to be a part of a permanent exhibit. God bless him and his legacy. ❤
David Begnaud always presenting such amazing stories. RIP David Breaux.
David was practically a saint. May he rest in peace.
May david breaus memory be forever blessed and may his legacy continue🙏❤️
Thank you for this we all need to put this word into our life, heart, and soul. What an amazing person he was.
Thank you, David Begnaud, for presenting this pure and beautiful story of a generous, self-less life. I believe that some of the best "Life Lessons" are the ones demonstrated through example. The Ministry of Jesus Christ while on earth was one of loving compassion, listening, sharing, helping, healing, forgiving. David Breaux, your labor of love is not in vain. Truly, an angel was among us. Rest now from your labor in God's Eternal Peace. 😇🕊🌿🙏🤍
What a beautiful story, he’s an Angel now God’s blessings 🙏🦋💙
What a wonderful person, what an incredible loss.
My condolences to the family
RIP BEAUTIFUL SOUL
A true angel on earth. I know he got his wings. May David Breaux rest in glory. God bless.
There are many who have pity, but no compassion. Compassion is an active word, as is love. This was a man with a deep understanding of these meanings. His teachings live on. His life was, and is still, a blessing.
Yes, it's an active word
How we treat people....
If I was ever looking for an example of an Evolved Soul, This would be it. ❤
This is so sad. I swear the people who shine the brightest lights are the ones who leave the earth too soon
The good die young.
@lesliecano4963 too young. And sadly with weird fates such as this.
@@sxwx6567 The things that happen to us in this world make me question if there is a God.
@lesliecano4963 trust me I've been on my deathbed a few times. He's there and he listens. But I can completely understand
@@sxwx6567 I have as well.
Everyone worships something.
WoW! Amazing. 💜💚💛
He has a Light in his eyes that I only see in the most loving people on the planet.
Hopefully someone will publish his books.
David was so moving to me watching this and brought me to tesrs. I wish I had the privilege and honor to meet him. I hope this story would furthermore move Stanford University to posthumous bless him with a Doctoral Degree so we can remember him as "Doctor David Begnaud". In my opinion, he earned this for his many years of exploring and documenting his passion. It would be priceless if a publisher could gather his journals and publish them for everyone to read and study. Educators could provide courses for both Secondary Schools and Colleges in health sciences related to his life-long studies. In these trying and difficult times, we all need this sooner than later to better mankind. 🙏🎓🕊
which david?
RIP 🙏🏾🤍🕊️
Hey that was my neighbor at the trailer park in Davis he watched us smoke weed and drink would see cops chasing us and he would open his door and hide us from cops and he eventually said we could use his back yard anytime as long as we cleaned up and didnt fight or cause in his own words chaos
If more people were like this man, more people would meet the same fate. We don't have compassion for cancer. We eliminate it. People are worse. At least cancer doesn't spread from person to person. Compassion is well and good when it is tempered by rationality.
Indulge your heart for love of other people
That is a no for me. I have compassion for those who have it and deserve it. Earn it.
He was literally designed by God and was sent here to teach compassion into find compassion and others to show God that this Earth is not as bad as some might think
So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help. Compassion can only be shown by the righteous not the unrighteous.
Forgiveness is a choice. David wanted others to make that choice.
Huge capping void, lose of David.
We're all in dire need to have more compassion. Might be a minimal of a spark, but a spark can ignite many
Was he a christian?
Does it matter? BTW I am Christian.
