- Reevaluating his life in the midst of the pandemic, former media exec Ron King found a new mission, saving donkeys from slaughter. Lead national correspondent David Begnaud, who introduced us to King six months ago, talks with him again for the "CBS Mornings" series "How Are You Now?"

My dad had a donkey - when his fathers land was divided - his siblings sold him. It broke my dads heart. Im glad to see someone cares about them the way he did. ❤️

⛅️💚🐴Donkeys are absolutely among some of my personal favorite animals. It breaks my heart oftentimes how people mercilessly and evilly show no compassion to animals let alone fellow humans.💔 This was such a deeply moving story, made me smile a little through some lite tears. As I’m still grieving and going through my own deep sorrow of losing my beloved adopted mom. 😪🥀😢

I live where there’s a field with a couple of donkeys and horses behind my house. I absolutely love the donkeys. The come up to the fence and let me pet them. I love to hear them bray, too. Lovely animals. Wonderful man and getting out of the fast track lifestyle has benefited him immensely. ❤🐴

I wish the donkey sanctuary could have an assisted living home next door so the residents could give affection to the donkeys. A school or group home for children on the other side would be great too. Share the love all around.

I’m Chinese American and I have never heard of donkeys being skinned for Chinese medicine, that’s terrible!! His work is beyond valuable, thank you sir for all you do for these beautiful animals ❤️
I haven't 'heard' of donkeys being skinned by the Chinese either, but I have heard of the atrocities & barbaric slaughtering that the Chinese do to other land, sea and air animals.

You matter to me, to my dog who's a beagle and who's breed requires constant rescuing (for reference search 4,000 beagles rescued in Virginia from just 1, just 1 testing facility) not to mention the many more dog breeds discriminated against for a plethora of reasons..
