Harvey Kurtzman drew the first twelve, or so, covers to Two-Fisted Tales, and while they strike some readers as simplistic, they can really grab you, if you give them a chance. But, more to the point, the remaining issues of Two-Fisted featured covers by other EC artists, like Jack Davis, George Evans, Wally Wood, and John Severin.
Great video and Bugzilla was the most horrifying
Well done. Looking forward to your next Bronze Age book discussion ✨
Shock SuspensStories is my favorite EC title as it has a nice variety of different stories in each issue (horror, sci-fi, war etc. ) That particular issue is one of better ones and the cover feature 'Carrion Death', has a particularly gruesome ending. I think it's also Reed Crandall's first artwork at EC. So many things going for it! Read it, if you ever get the chance.
Love the older Thor books!
Thanks for the replay. This video is always good around Halloween.

I was just about to make this same comment. I’m glad they responded; and I look forward to new content next month. 😊
Dave what are your thoughts on the George Wilson painted covers for Gold Key comics from the mid to late 60’s, I’ve absolutely have fallen in love with them. Been chasing high grade file copies of a lot of those 1960’s books.
I really like his work! I have several really nice copies of doctor solar from that era. The style and colors are really outstanding!
I usually don’t mind lower grade books as long as they look presentable, but for the Gold Key George Wilson books, when you’re holding a 9.4 or 9.6 graded Wilson book, it’s absolutely amazing how the cover pops. I’ve been trying to get my hands on as many high grade file copies as I can, just amazing art work. I have a bunch of high grade Magnus books, gorgeous art.
george wilson was awesome. i loved his covers as a kid and still admire his work today,...., there is a book due soon on his gk art,.......
I enjoy watching your channel with my husband.
Glad you enjoy it!
If all you are getting is less than slab cost values, you're giving money away. Sorry to see that. Those are cool books.
Was this posted early this year? I remember the bug on Dave's head in an earlier video you guys made.
Maybe it’s the same bug? It’s lived a long time!
Yes, we are replaying for Halloween.
Who knew but you two. 🤣
It’s pronounced Joe ManEEEly. (Not manly). I actually know a writer who used to work with him in Philadelphia. Joe died when he fell off a train near Princeton, NJ on the way back from New York.
That issue of Lucky is scarcer than hen’s teeth!
Thank you for sharing that.
Fell off a train?
@@DrSaxxy yes. It’s kind of a mystery what exactly happened
