Hemlock Wooly Adelgid Management and Impact

This talk will focus on Hemlock woolly adelgid and the impact of this pest in the US. We'll cover a brief history, including the introduction of HWA, before discussing other important aspects of pest biology including life cycle, damage, and management. Recent studies concerning this pest and interactions with host trees and other organisms will also be mentioned.

Jeremy is an entomological researcher with Bartlett Tree Experts. Prior to this he worked in the Bartlett diagnostic clinic for several years assessing plant samples from Bartlett offices throughout the US and Canada. He earned an MS and PhD at NC State working on overcoming barriers to IPM adoption and integrating pest and pollinator management in agroecosystems.
