Ok, I have been gifted a brother punchcard machine, the tension dial is stuck, so I’m encouraged now to have another go at fixing it. Thank you for the suggestion of cleaning liquids, I’ll do the research. Wondering if you were able to get the NL lever moving again.
Thanks. Great clear instructions... one thing I would NEVER put anything like this anywhere near water... water and metal... not a good combo for such fine engineering. I know there's a lot of stainless steel in there but even so.
Yes. Just keep wiggling it. Maybe sorry some freeing oil in if you are goungbtondo a full carriage service and re grease. It will move. Justbneeds encouragement

Bonjour. J’ai la même machine mais j’ai un souci avec la cames orange en plastique sous le chariot. Quand je met le bouton de sélection sur KC une cames se met bien dans la position haute alors que la deuxième reste en bas. J’ai ouvert le chariot, nettoyé il est comme neuf. Je n’ai rien vu qui pouvait bloqué. Tout le reste fonctionne très bien sauf la came cite. Avez eu ce souci ? Si oui pouvez vous m’aider ? Je suis français et je ne trouve aucune aide. Merci d’avance. Hi my machine carriage is doing just the same with knob not turning. Did you manage to release this one easy.

My knob was stuck, degrease did not work, but heating it up with a hairdryer did 😊
Sounds like a full strip down and regrease it is then.

Hi there .. your welcome. I've seen others do it. I've not done it myself. But see no reason why not to. As long as bone dry before oiling etc.

Update to tell you I did do that just to another. It was brilliant... But then sat it next to a radiator to totally dry off

Help - I have moved the tension dial and lost correct placement of number? Aghhhhh
There's only one way it fits.
Turn the knob around pushing down. It will click on into the only position it will go in which is the correct one
I have fixed the stuck knob by re-screwing the middle two screws in the back, and then the knob works!

I have this exact problem. did the change knob eventually move?
Yes. Wobbled it lots and then yes. But then stripped down the whole carriage and cleaned it
@@scarletpeate you mean you took it more apart than what you already did in the video then it came loose?
I stripped it totally down. I have to shoot a video on that. Taking off the levers mechanism etc
