Not interested in "McGregor hype" or "Mendes ending his career". I really like McGregor, I like his fight style and no doubt he's a great fighter, I'm not saying Mendes can't beat McGregor because Mendes is a beast. I just think McGregor will be better due to all the hype, all the training and preparation for a title fight! Either way we have been spoiled, it's an incredible card.

I'm rooting for McGregor and Rory. I would honestly love to see a war in the Mendes fight, to see Conor truly tested so he can prove that he can overcome an elite challenger that can't be KO'd in the first round. Although i wouldn't be disappointed with an early KO haha. And while i definitely wouldn't be surprised by lawler taking the win, by pure aggressive brutality, i see Rory completely shutting him down the way he did, tyron woodly, with ranged strikes and a good defensive gameplan that will keep robbie from landing many shots and gaining momentum.

It's amazing to see Conor with the same exact people, to this day, that he was with when he STARTED his MMA career. Not just the UFC, mind you, but his ENTIRE career. Loyalty is such an important characteristic, and he's got it in spades. He didn't just get to the top and say "Peace out!"; he brought everyone with him. That's a rarity in this sport (or in any sport, for that matter).
I'm sure SBG is a great camp in Ireland, but there are many better camps in the US, and Conor would've had his pick of any of them. Instead, he stuck with his people, determined to make it with them or fail trying. You gotta respect that.

George Barcenas Chad doesn't have slick Bjj like Gunnar and he didn't submit him, he had him in a body triangle and the buzzer went off.. Didn't Conor say he sparred 15 different guys that day/night alone, he will go through Mendes, the wrestling won't be a huge factor, it will be the size, movement and boxing of McGregor.

I think Conor would matchup better against Aldo. With Mendes however he has no chance of winning, he will be stuck the whole fight, he won't be able to throw kicks to avoid takedowns and his punches will be very predictable. Mendes and Mcgrecor are on a whole different levels now. This is a bad matchup.
R. Long Right, Aldo is too fast and got too much weapons that Conor can't handle, the thing is I assume Aldo will get in there with a standing game plan, so this will be at least good for Conor. But Mendes, Oh man that would be ugly.

Excited for the co-main, would be interesting to see Rory fighting for the gold. The whole bruised/broken rib thing seems suspect. It may have been a tactical maneuver from Aldo to see how McGregor does against his past opponent, or take him out of title contention. Or can be a plain old bad rib, and doesn't want to risk his belt to such a dangerous fighter. Who knows. Wish the original fight was still on.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it's going to be an early night. Chad will KO'd in the late 1st or early second round. McGregor will crack him with one good shot, Mendes will fall, and McGregor will pounce. Herb Dean will stop the fight before McGregor lands another good strike and before Chad can recover. Chad will then argue and say the fight shouldn't have been stopped. The thing is a 5 round fight doesn't favor Chad. Chad can take him down a few times and maybe win a round or two, but I don't see him avoiding that left hand of McGregor's for 5 straight rounds. All it takes is one from Conor and it's goodnight.
