Glad that you spent time in the pub, and why not? Jo the sunshine really helps with the winter blues and even after the rain the sheep look good as do the fields. You are real farmers because in the face of adversity you have managed a positive attitude, well done. Best wishes from EA.
Thank you Colin this is a lovely comment!! I wasn’t sure I was in the mood for New Year’s Eve but I’m glad I went out, we spend a lot of nights in… so an occasional night out can be good for the soul!!
Those Rams definitely doing the Derby County charge - hope soothe their poorly heads. Excellent showing the Sunrising & Green Grass with rainfall making it muddy again & yes lots of Sun & Snow this week maybe & I noticed last week longer Daylight in the afternoons now - Nice seeing Nick hovering sliently with his Beanie on the wrong way round next to the Highlanders Tough Buggers giving the epic rainfall in 2023 & going to be an excellent Lambing season after seeing all those Ewes chomping away Best Wishes Joanna & Nick Resilient Farmers x
Hehe David , your comments always make me laugh, you have some fantastic observations!! Love it! Hope you are enjoying the frosty weather and sunshine! How could we not ! Take care!
Hi Steve, yes now we have treated them it should help, but then another one will come up with the same problem! It’s a constant battle but we do our best!
Finally days of clear sky and the start of lengthening days of sunshine.! I always love seeing Bambi and company come to greet you. Based on all the red marked ewes the boys appear to have done their work. Looking forward to a good/healthy ewe and lambing season. Take care.
Fingers crossed for a tremendous year come 🙂 great content as usual 😀looking forward to lambing and seeing 2024 unfold before us😊thanks to you and your family xx looking forward to seeing you both in the coming months 😀😂👌loving the Highlands 😀😀😀XX
Hi Donna , so the red mark on the ewes back is an identification mark so we can ‘at a glance’ see that a sheep belongs to us … the farmer next door might use a green mark ! It’s useful for escaped sheep and to pick out any that may join your flock accidentally!! We used a green and blue raddle mark on the rams, for the second cycle of the ewes so only a few got marked in this way!
Thank God 2023 is over and done with from a farming perspective, what a nightmare it was.. Finally the past week has been great here too, blue skies and sunshine.. 😎
January and February have some of the most beautiful emerald green and topaz blue Sunsets of any other month. 2 inches of snow here and -1F this morning.
You are a real Pied Piper of Sheep, it’s great to see them following you ! I have seen many beautiful skies on RUclips videos from all over the World but the sky and landscape from @13-25 seconds into this video were as beautiful as any I’ve ever seen !
It’s good to see some decent weather breaking through, though talk of snow. I dare say your wood store is pretty built up. Looks like it was a good decision to bring in some new stock and cull out a bit prior to winter kicking in. Glad yo both got out New Years.
Yeah we have been gathering wood a lot !! It’s good to have a supply although a lot of it needs to be seasoned. We have been logging today actually , getting wood that’s fallen and is ready to burn !
@@DaleFarm There will be a wee bit more wood and branches down if this storm continues. We need a storm Joanna, I am sure she would be very entertaining lol xx
I am LOVING seeing the green grass! It is snow and frozen here today in Missouri. We woke up to 10 BELOW zero Fahrenheit this morning. I am READY for green grass!
Joanna, wishing you and Nick and the entire farm family a beautiful new year. May it be everything that you want and need, with plenty of smiles and 🙏🏼❤
A very happy, healthy and prosperous new year to you both. On New Years Day I went for a long ride on my motorbike and, as always, I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Motorcycle riding has been my stress release for over 45 years now. Thankfully I can still do it. It really is great to see you getting some sunshine. I truly hope 2024 will be everything you want it to be Joanna. Wonderful footage too of the flying Geese. Take care.
I’m glad you did that! Sound like a great way to enjoy some time off ! A free feeling a bit like when I go cycling!! Always clears the head and puts things into perspective!
The livestock look good to me and yes we were predicted to have a wet and colder winter than usual and we have we're really catching it now it is January the 14th tomorrow is MLK Day has been very cold so Northern places reporting below zero so glad your weather has gotten better hopefully ours will next but the next two weeks very cold 🥶👍🐝
we are set for another dry and cold week then back to the wind and rain ............................have not seen as big a flight of geese for a long long time
Hi Joanna great video as usual. What a difference a bit of sunshine and green grass makes puts a smile on your face. The weather has not been very good for farming in general just lately, I have never seen the ground so wet we have lakes instead of puddles. It's awesome when we do get a bit of sunshine 🌞 it just makes you feel so much better. Thanks again take care and stay safe 👍 😊.
The sunshine makes a huge positive impact on us I think! The last week has been nice with sunshine and better days! We can look forward to spring and surely a less wet year! A nice mix of sunshine and showers would be perfect !! Hope you are well!
Definitely drier now. Love the smell of a newly opened bale of silage. Sometimes so good you could almost eat it yourself. Thanks for the video. All the best 🇬🇧.
Definitely feels like we’re over the wet now… granted it’s now gonna go into a drought 🤣🤦♂ I’m hoping to get some jobs done round the fields this week if it freezes up 🤞🤞
Hello like you say its been an awful few months but your ewes look really well and it's always nice too give them a fresh parcel of land... as ever keep up the good work 👍
Hopefully your weather turns around for you and nick.we got our first major snow fall and cold temperatures in Ontario this weekend.could use some weather like you had on January 1st.stay safe from Canada
Happy new year to you both dont feel to bad we have had a lot of crap weather in melbourne austrailia as well for being summer time its not that great ok lovely vid as always ok all the best be safe
Well Joanna, you spoke too soon. It's going to be a long time before any fields dry out but this next week will keep you breaking the off the Highlands water. Nice video. Take care xx
Why did you not bring the sheep into the yard or sheds when you had so much rain. It would have helped the sheep and it would have been easier to feed them.?
Dear Joanna, we also first had rain in Germany 🌧 Maybe you saw the pictures in the news. After the rain came the snow ☃and in the last few days there was black ice 🥶 On the weekend, the sun is finally coming and we will go mountain biking 🚵🏻♂ It's good that things get better with the sheep. The pictures with the green grass give hope for the soon spring Kind wishes for you and Nick, Gerold 👋🏻
Wonderful! It’s like the song from Annie! 🎶“The sun'll come out, tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar, that tomorrow
There'll be sun!”🎶😁❤️
❤️❤️ lovely
If I was so happy to see the sheep move onto a field of beautiful grass, you must have been ecstatic! Glad conditions are starting to improve.
Yeah it was a good feeling!!! And where they were has slightly freshened up too so things don’t look as bad !
Glad that you spent time in the pub, and why not? Jo the sunshine really helps with the winter blues and even after the rain the sheep look good as do the fields. You are real farmers because in the face of adversity you have managed a positive attitude, well done. Best wishes from EA.

Hello Joanna and Nick, Greetings. I did see a few sheep limping ,hopefully they will heal quickly. Keep Smiling 😊

I have past on your camp site onto a couple in Wrexham, who are looking for a camp in Derbyshire area .They have a small camper van.
Thank you that is appreciated
Well Joanna, you spoke too soon. It's going to be a long time before any fields dry out but this next week will keep you breaking the off the Highlands water. Nice video. Take care xx
Hi 👋 yes you are right we had an icy spell of weather I thoroughly enjoyed it!!
they are saying snow next thursday friday around here don't want none of the white stuff sheep looking well take care
Hi Alan! It’s cold , hardly any snow!
Why did you not bring the sheep into the yard or sheds when you had so much rain. It would have helped the sheep and it would have been easier to feed them.?
Bringing them inside would mean more foot problems. More feed costs, more work sheep belong outside
Sheep definitely happier outdoors !
Is your dad still living on the farm
He died 2years ago.
😪
Always stay as positive as possible 🙂because both you and the animals 😀are the reason we keep watching your fantastic content 👍 roll on lambing 😊⭐️X
Thank you so much, yes I’m excited for lambing and spring
Dear Joanna,
