While Russians are, if I remember correctly, eighth place at most hours red per person per day in the world, just as two examples. Also, Americans are world famous for being terrible at history and geography and even teachers in the US are constantly complaining online about the current epidemic where the younger generation doesn’t know anything and cannot read.

The peculiarities of Russian riddles are that in Russian every word has gender. Onions male gen. carrots female gen. Carrots "she". Onions "hi". There are also middle gender.😅 It is a cloud, it is a lake, it is a sun, a tree, etc. Therefore, for English speakers, it will not be clear why onions are a man, and carrots are a girl.
That's why a tampon cannot be answer. A tampon in russian language can't be a girl. Only a man.😂

Years ago, after the collapse of the Soviet Union a delivery driver dropped-off some deliveries to my company. She came with her 12 year-old daughter. Everyone's jaw dropped because her daughter was gorgeous. My co-workers asked about this daughter. It seems when she first arrived in Canada and had to be assessed as to where to place her in our education system here in Ontario, they were stunned to learn the daughter was way, way ahead of all 12 year olds in Canada. They had to skip her not one, but two grades in our schools she was so far ahead. Her mother told us her daughter was not an Einstein, just that Russia's education was far, far superior to our own. They actually give a shit about the education of their children, unlike Canada.

Not always true. Only for the families who can afford to live in the nicer areas of the greater Moscow and Leningrad regions (maybe a few others like Chelyabinsk, I don’t know). Try adopting someone from Karelia or Yukutsk (Siberia) or Vladivostok (Russian Far East). Especially if they aren’t ethnic Russian (there are many, many ethnicities within Russia). Much different result.

    Here's a riddle for you.
    Battle The Beast
The night came quicker than usual, as it caught me by surprise
Before I found some shelter, the darkness dimmed my eyes
My panicked heart was racing, my legs instinctively took flight
I aimlessly ran in circles, in the horror of blackest night
In the distance I could hear it, the sound of a terrible beast
I could hear its claws scratching, I could see the flash of its teeth
There was no way to outrun it, for it traveled on all fours
So, faced with just one prospect, I turned and faced the noise
The blade I held, had a faint sparkle illumined by distant stars
The beast knew I would use it, as it stalked me from afar
My wait drug on for an eternity, as I firmly stood my ground
But soon it would be over, for I heard approaching sounds
Throughout my life, I purposely planned, to never travel at night
It was the only way to miss the beast and avoid a deadly fight
Yet, life has a sense of justice, not willing to let me cheat those plans
From facing the beast who stalks me, from facing what haunts a man
A silhouette sprang out of the blackness, striking hard the first blow
I vollied back with the tip of my blade, causing the beast to moan
Collapsing together, mortally wounded, the dawn began to break
I saw the beast that had attacked me, it was myself, in whom I faced
    Battle The Beast
    By William Cooper
From the book, Coop's Corner Collection Inspirational Stories and Poems
